“This place is a treasure trove! We are so glad we stopped in as we found some unique vintage items. The owner, Fernanda, does a terrific job curating some fun and authentic items. If you are looking for some interesting and one-of-a-kind decor or vintage china, head to this place. We are from out of town and will definitely come back the next time we are in NYC!”
“I had the pleasure of visiting Cooky's last weekend with my mom and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rob, who is absolutely amazing! He was very welcoming and very informative about the pricing. He has great quality merchandise. This place is very much a hidden treasure!! I felt at home when I came here, I highly recommend this place for those looking to find a hidden treasure. I will definitely be back!”

“William is an incredible, upbeat and charismatic manager. you can tell his staff respects and appreciates him. Been to this spot a few times over the years to just drop off; brought family from overseas to do some shopping and they bought wrong sizes. ASked William if I could exchange 4 items 5 months later and he made the exception and was very graceful.”
“It's a gem in Queens this store. Quality items to purchase but at affordable prices. I found two modern living room chairs for under $200 in excellent condition.
If you are redoing your home decor or just setting up a new place stop by this store to get some incredible finds. Also, check their website for online shopping.
Staff was friendly and helpful too.”
“Excellent place, everything at a good price but the most important thing is the attention that the people who work there give you, especially the owner, it is always good to come back again”
“Nice, friendly, clean and reasonable prices on all there items. No junk. Will always visit when I get a chance. Thank you for making what thrift store should be.”
“Amazing, I was just passing by and looking around with no expectations to buy but found some great items. Luckily you can pay with zelle since I wasn't carrying my wallet.”
“I’ve been going here for a few years now and I’ve found some really great things for cheap. There’s a HUGE selection and a lot of high quality brands if you look carefully. You also get a 20% off coupon if you donate, no matter how much. Overall it’s a really fun store to go into and there are good finds :)”
“I found some cute knick-knacks and books here today, and the owner gave me pretty generous prices. Its your typical thrift/antique store, they have something for everyone if you look around a bit. They’re only open Sundays and they accept cash or venmo/cashapp/zelle, no cards. :)”
“I’m honestly surprised by the different reviews. I have been coming here since early 2010s. Even found my wedding champagne glasses here last year!
My experience donating or shopping has always been great.
The place does have a mild scent but i think it’s the nature of any thrift store. It’s not bad, it’s just that clutter smell as again..it’s a thrift store with a lot of items”
“As others say, this is a true neighborhood thrift store with a lovely, welcoming staff. They now accept cash *and* card but may still prefer cash, not sure. Great selection, kind staff, fabulous location. Very grateful for this business! Can't wait to visit this instant favorite many more times.”
“My husband and I love to shop at this store. There is a girl name Sarah who is very professional and very helpful. She really did offer us great customer service that that makes you feel comfortable from the time you enter the store. We love to shop here.”

“Absolutely loved this thrift shop!!! I purchased a beautiful scarf and a tiny porcelain doll for my daughter (who had been wanting one). My hubby got a coffee table book. There was such a great supply of nice clothes and good prices, and a lot of home stuff as well (very well kept). This is going to be one of my go-to thrift stores from now on!!! The staff was also very friendly!”
“Quite a lot of variety, and comfortable prices.Everyone in the shop was very friendly and helpful.A good selection of tiny and cheap to big and expensive items. A ton of dishes, plates and mugs of different types and in good condition.Located in a really nice place across the street from a lovely cafe (Benny's). There are many other shops nearby, although we didn't find one as great as this one.”
“Prices align more with a higher end cosignment shop in NY but the layout, display, & selection here is quite nice. Many quality items throughout the store + a nice atmosphere. Worth the look for unique items close by.”

“Why the hell would a convenience store not have a single set of mechanical pencils. Yes, have 30 varients of gel pens and 2 types of wooden pencils but absolutely 0 forms of any mechanical pencils. Also, what store prices a singular fork at 2 bucks. Insane. 1 block away you can get 2 forks for 1 dollar.”

“This hidden gem is my all time favorite place to visit,
I was introduced by my deceased godmother who shopped here faithfully.
Twice a month we would have a day out with us stopping by to see all the specials and the clearance racks,
Their clearance racks are in the far right side of the back of the store and they have some of the best quality clothing on that rack for under $5.00 and maybe even some $2.00 things mixed in.
I’ve gotten some great deals on art work and wall mirrors and so much more.
They even sell real vintage furs for 50 bucks you can’t beat that price at all.
The ladies in the front are so helpful and sweet.
Reminder bring your own bags because I think for some reason they don’t have bags.
I just always brought my own bags.
You’re going to be happy with your thrifting experience I promise you that.”
“so many vintage selections to choose from . The moment you walk in you get to see a little bit of everything , from like old school tables to lamps and many more options I love this place I want to go back already.”

“I love this shop! Def not to be missed! Tucked in amongst LOTS of Latin food cafes, food trucks, and bakeries, and very lively streets selling just about everything, sits a not so little, not so hidden absolute gem! Aforementioned venues are surely worth the visit to Jackson Heights, but I couldn’t feel more blessed to find El Baratón across the street from our building… it has made getting dressed in lazy mornings so much easier to do when that “1 item” has gone missing, I know I can pop in for a thrifty scarf or a new Zara blazer, or top label 2ndhand staple jeans and tees… or a quirky fur (faux for sure) jacket. Racks of sneakers and flats and boots in great condition- my only 1 complaint- ? they tend to suit smaller sized feet than my average 8’s. Because they are cute. As are the staff and owner, always helpful and the curator/gm/owner- always a doll with stories and style, if you just want to chat! Kids and mens’ stuff too!”

“I have only one charity, the Salvation Army. They were very helpful when I needed it. I grew up in Brooklyn in the projects. I wanted to travel but I didn't have much money. A friend told me that the Salvation Army is everywhere, so wherever you go, you can spend the night with them. They will feed you dinner, give you a clean bed to sleep on, and breakfast and farewell and Godspeed in the morning. So I went to California and back, and stayed in one of their places every night. In Snyder, Texas, they put me up in the Snyder Hotel, because they didn't have any other place for me. As a result of the treatment I received on my journey, I vowed to pay them back, which I have done and will continue to do. I have read some of the other reviews that were less than kind, and I have run into people of means that are never happy unless they have something, anything, to complain about. While I never abused drugs or alcohol, I have known people that were helped by the Salvation Army, and that's ALL THEY DO. They help people in need, and never ask for anything in return. That is the true meaning of charity. Whenever I donate clothing, it's always in good condition and clean, but even if it's not, they make sure that it is before providing those people who need it. This past Winter, I dropped off over a hundred pounds of clothing, worth many thousands of dollars, and I never ask for receipts. Where is it written that charity requires a tax deduction? I promise to continue to bring them anything I don't need for as long as I draw breath. As for the complainers, shame on you.

“y'all trippin. everytime i come here, i always find something AMAZINGGGG!!! found my dream top fr there's set prices and it's affordable! more clothes for me ig”
“I love love love this shop. Hidden gem. I found several amazing items including a formal dress and work skirts in the $2 rack. I got a huge kitchen garbage size bag full of clothes for $40 and that is because I bought a wool cardigan for $20. Is mostly clothes and also have misc items. I saw lots of jeans. Women and men clothes. Very reasonable prices. Also have shelvea of jewelry and sunglasses which got some. I wish they opened sooner or had longer hours ao I could stop by more often. This place only sells what they receive in donation and place is small. But its worth a stop bc of the prices. Items out were in good condition.”

“There is a young man who is the worst. I asked him twice about something and he didn't answer me and then he answered me in Spanish. I mean, he did know the language. My clothes fell to the floor and he left the store. He didn't sell me. He told me the devil. It doesn't exist and he doesn't care if I report this way, he offended me and yelled at me in front of everyone.”

“Unfortunately a lot of items don't have price tag, it seems a recurrent issue from certain customers that frequent this location that remove the price tags in order to exchange them with a lower price tag. I hope Mgmt. can identify the culprits, it makes the entire shopping experience somewhat dull, from not purchasing the item or pay a full price when this could have been a discounted item. I suggest them to stapple item better and identify clients that are persisting with these practices. Overall things are organized, good illumination.”
“I always enjoy coming here. The staff works hard, and the inventory is constantly refreshed—some visits are more fruitful than others, so it’s worth coming back regularly. You have to dig and be patient, but that’s part of the fun of thrifting.
Prices are a bit higher than other Salvation Army locations since items are individually priced, but 50% off days and color tag sales help. The denim selection is especially strong. I often see brands like True Religion and other vintage gems.
This location is also reseller-friendly. More resellers = more revenue = Salvation Army distributes a higher volume & better quality inventory to this location. Win. Everyone has different styles, and there’s plenty to go around. Great store overall!”
“The staff were very welcoming, patient, and friendly. There was a wide variety of jewelry, especially in rings, necklaces, and watches. Prices were very affordable and cheap for quality pieces. There were many other categories of product as well (records, glasses pieces, spoons, figurines, paintings, ect.).”
