“I started meditation with Cindy in mid June 2025. I was experiencing mental lapses and the my doctor recommended about 8 week's meditation. Fortunately there was a Long Island Meditation just across street from my office and gave it a shot. I was 85 years old so felt reluctant to start the new one but it was necessary if I want to recover full use of my brain which has been injured by use of medical pills. The method was simple to clear my clogged mind. After 8 weeks, I was advised by the doctor that my brain had cleared significantly and I realized that I much more to learn about my brain. I decided to continue introduction with the hope that I could complete this program with the goal of being a truth. I am surprised that my entire being is in the process of changing for the better. As result, I am enthusiastic about developing brain that is clear of so many useless thoughts.
I am very grateful for method, Cindy and my changes!”
“We truly love St. Mark’s Cooperative Nursery School and feel so grateful to have found this hidden gem! The program is led by certified teachers and thoughtfully designed around a play-based model that supports social, emotional, and academic growth in a developmentally appropriate way. Mrs. Testa and Miss Megan are incredible—loving, caring, kind, patient, and deeply attentive, fostering an environment where each child feels seen and valued. Special Days are an opportunity for parents and caregivers to be a part of the magic in the classroom, creating a strong sense of connection and trust. The enrichment program and extended day opportunities are a huge plus, offering engaging activities that genuinely enhance the children’s experience. St. Mark’s also offers spacious indoor and outdoor playgrounds so they can stay active and explore year-round. Weekly music classes with Miss Krysta are another highlight! Most importantly, the focus on social-emotional development has helped my son build confidence, kindness, and independence, while preparing him for the demands of kindergarten. We couldn’t recommend St. Mark’s more highly.”
“In the summer of 2023, I was leaving Fairway Supermarket (now called Food Bazaar) in Douglaston when a woman outside the supermarket was handing out flyers. I took a flyer which read Bayside Meditation and placed it in my bag of groceries not realizing that flyer would change my life. Fast forward into the Fall of 2023, during a stressful time in my life, I decided to visit Bayside Meditation. I had such a wonderful experience during my first session. The meditation sessions are facilitated by Anna and Sunhae, two beautiful, empathetic and loving women. Sessions can be done individually or with groups. The sessions are welcoming, calming, and thoughtfully guided, creating a safe space for both beginners and those with more meditation experience. Both Anna and Sunhae lead with clarity, compassion, and intention, making it easy to stay present and engaged throughout the practice.
I have participated in both group sessions and individual sessions. I personally appreciate the individual sessions which give me the opportunity to slow down and reconnect with myself in a meaningful way. Each session leaves me feeling more grounded, centered, and refreshed. There are many members at Bayside Meditation. From time to time, both Anna and Sunhae organize field trips for meditation sessions, ie Jones Beach, Cunningham Park and Crocheron Park to list a few. This meditation group has become a valuable part of my self-care routine, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to reduce stress, improve mindfulness or deepen their meditation practice. They give you a sense of community. I am now a part of this beautiful community!”
“I was an original member when this place opened. Yes that’s right! Myself and my 2 brothers. I remember when the field was added, and when the pool was built. I even went there for 6th grade. I even worked there part time as a youth. Nothing but good memories!”
“This place has improved since new management. Vincent the current manager of Mary Brennan INN is very responsive and courteous. He takes care of your needs on the spot. Place is more organized and less unwanted customers. The new card system lets the INN know of food and statistical wastage. Thanks to Jean for promoting Vincent. Both work Great together. Food quality has got better as the new management placements are good.”

“The Community House is a true treasure in Forest Hills. All three of my kids went to school and after-school here, and it’s been an incredible part of our lives. They learned to swim here, made lifelong friends, and grew in confidence. The staff is amazing — they truly care about the kids and the community. This is so much more than a facility; it’s a place that brings families together and helps children.”
“This place is such an integral part of the Korean American community here in New York. They offer a wide variety of services and are problem solvers for those who may be marginalized as limited English proficient individuals. Special thanks to Taewon Kim, who helped my mom renew her health insurance- he even stayed past normal business hours to ensure that my mom was taken care of.”
“Book giving service with tons of help and super friendly people. They offer free books to nfp and schools. We were able to get books for an upcoming Juneteenth event. So grateful for their offering.”
“My home and community! Not sure where my life would be if I hadn't stumbled upon this church when I first got sober almost 10 years ago.. If you are yearning for an authentic community and a place to point you to Jesus in all aspects, this is the space.”

“The authentic care and endless support of Pink Cans 4 Cancer (PC4C) is unmatched! As a breast cancer advocate since 2004, I was not prepared for my 2021 diagnosis. As I attended numerous doctors appointments and learning of the rocky road ahead I sought solice in knowing I had the support of PC4C /Tony. As a natural nurturer he knows just how to lean in with the right amount of TLC. The outpour of phone calls, text messages and meals not only fed my family as I underwent surgery it ushered in a sense of peace which allowed me to heal. I can not express my gratitude for such a phenomenal support you have been. I now look forward to the newly paved path ahead as I continue to recover and embrace my new normal. #PC4C❤ #IvyStronger”

“If you are an active older adult looking for a warm community, a safe environment, lovely clean accommodations, lots of chances to socialize, tasty and varied meal options, and access to transportation options that free you from depending on a car, then you might consider Flushing House.
I have been a resident for a few months now and I highly recommend it. The location is extraordinary. It is on a quiet street, but two blocks from the hustle and bustle of downtown Flushing with its many stores and transportation options. Manhattan is an easy commute, just a 5-minute walk to the LIRR station and then a 15-minute ride to Penn Station or Grand Central. I work part-time in Manhattan, and I've never had an easier commute to my job! Queens College, with its dramatic and musical offerings, is a quick ride on a nearby bus. Flushing Town Hall with its stellar jazz program is four blocks away. Flushing Library is also an easy walk, as is Macy’s and a great pizzeria, if that interests you. Here at Flushing House itself, there are many stimulating offerings – book club, language clubs, exercise programs, both domestic and foreign movies, and a lovely rooftop atrium that is open 24 hours a day. There are many food options at each meal and, once you realize all the choices you have ( on and off the menu) you can always find something you like. One can pick up meals and take them back to one’s apartment, but the communal dining room has been a way for me to meet other residents and make the acquaintance of some lovely people. The staff is kind, hardworking and understanding with residents (even the cranky ones!). My apartment is sunny, clean, and comfortable, and weekly housekeeping is included.
If you are an active older adult wondering what the next step in life should be, come to one of the frequent open houses that Flushing House hosts and see for yourself. You may find, as I did, that it is a lovely place in a great location with a price that is very reasonable considering all that is included.”

“I wanted to wait a few months before I posted my review of this company to evaluate them properly. I need to say I could not be happier with Alvita care. The aides, the care coordinators (especially Max) and the financial department are all excellent. I am so glad I chose them to take care of my family. They are not money hungry and do not try to sell extras to my family in fact they do the exact opposite, they offered a service that would actually save us some money. They also do direct billing to my long-term care insurance company so I do not need to lay the money out until Alvita Care gets paid from my long-term care insurance company I then pay the difference if any. Highly recommended.”

“I am pleased to share my positive experience with the Henry Viscardi Center, where I support an individual who attends their DayHab program. The center provides a truly wonderful experience, thanks to its dedicated and caring staff.
A special shout-out to Yerson and Janice King, who have been particularly outstanding. Their commitment and kindness make a significant difference in the quality of care and support provided.
Overall, the Henry Viscardi Center excels in creating a supportive and welcoming environment for its participants. The staff’s dedication and the quality of their work are truly commendable.”
“Pal-O-Mine Equestrian and The Theresa Foundation go back a very long way....I had the distinct privilege of being one of their first honorees over 20 years ago. We have had a beautiful relationship since then. The Foundation has consistently supported our children with disabilities year after year by providing scholarships to them. These scholarships allowed hundreds of children to attend equine classes at Pal-O-Mine and as a result these children have thrived. Collaboration in the not for profit world is of the utmost importance, especially on Long Island, and we are honored to be one of the Foundation's grant recipients for all these years.”
“I came across this charity organization last year and have been seeing how they help people. I saw they help many families in crisis and they do it in a very nice way. Without showing it off to the world. They ensure 100% of the funds go towards charity and keep nothing. That's one the of best things I love. Recently helped a Widow of a fallen officer ? with some donations.”
“When I lived in New York I was an active member at Flushing Quaker Meeting. Filled with lovely people. It's an historic building that shows Quaker simplicity and beauty. The gardens are also very beautiful.”
“Forest Hills Community Center is such an amazing place to visit . Everyone is eager to help you with everything you need. They are always smiling and trying to make it easier for you.
I enrolled here on the English 2 Work program . The program has options from beginning level to more advanced level of English.
The ABE classes are really helpful for the advanced students that can’t afford to pay this type of course in a private institution. I’m really grateful for being accepted in the program. I encourage everyone to take advantage of everything this program has to offer.
This kind of places are one of the things that makes New York City a place with lots of opportunities without any discrimination at all.”
“Just joined today; so far so good. More smiles from the staff than I've seen in a long time. I believe the young lady's name who did the registration is Salima Mohamed (her handwriting 😲) is in a class by herself.”
