Used to be good but now just sloppy. I could not find any organic pork or beef on a Tuesday’s 7pm. Everything in meat and seafood section looks old.

Several packs of old cheese in bloated packages just sitting with the rest of the cheese. This brand of cheese is shrink wrapped so for the packaging to be puffy means bacteria has started created gasses inside the package. The cheese is also cream colored so for it to look partially black under the wrapper is horrifying. I tried telling an employee and was ignored. Taking into account the other reviews of old food and unsanitary practices, I won't be going back.

Excellent sandwiches, beautiful and wonderful food in stock, nicely styled interior, extremely comfortable and clean and well maintained place.

Excellent selection and good prepared foods. A little pricy. My big issue is that the packaged produce (mixed greens, arugula, cherry tomatoes, etc) is usually on the verge of going bad or maybe even already bad. The greens are often wilted and soggy with brown liquid, and I've often found that the cherry tomatoes are moldy. I've also sometimes found mold on the fruits too, like the pears.

All the produce is rotting on the shelves. Often it's moldy, and in some cases, comes with pests. I debated posting photos of moldy, rotting fruit -- but thought it to be in poor taste. Avoid. It's not the Brooklyn fare you remember.

Everything here is a good $2 than where it would be anywhere else. Insultingly expensive for the same brands you can get at any other grocery in the area.

Very good store. You can find everything you need that you can't find in other stores...(ex. European, Asian..food) tbut pricey.

Excellent produce and meat selections. They even carry Jenkins Jellies (go for the Hellfire flavor). It’s an upscale grocery store so the prices are higher. The staff is nice and there are several self-check-out registers. A solid ice cream and ice-pop selection too.

Seriously health department has to come to this supermarket.once again I see the guys putting away boxes or organizing behind the counter where they make sandwiches and he didn’t even thought of changing his gloves. I have complained about it before but just like the employees the manager doesn’t care . Also why i bought some mangos that are pre cut and when I opened it the smell was horrible. I’m confused why would a mango smell so horrible. I stopped buying cold cuts and meat in this supper market. Managers make sure your employees are fifo everything arriving in your store. First in first out to prevent customer buying bad food or wasting their hard earned money . Ridiculous .

Not bad for location. Fresh deli and love the juices and sushi. They have a lot of variety as well.

Misleading labels, overpriced items. My family lives around the neighborhood - on a visit I went in just strolling by. Saw a sale for coconut water, but the brand that was placed on the shelf with the sale was a different brand that was actually placed there. When confronted, not only does the manager not admit the misleading placement of the sale, basically rudely told me to leave. Needless to say, I am not coming back, neither would my friends nor family who live around here.

Prices are insane. I only go here if I'm looking for something super specific; otherwise Trader Joe's is like half the price for a lot of normal items.

You’re more than likely to see a homeless person trying to steal food in this place than a butcher counter or a seafood counter. If you want refrigerated crab, grab the empty can in the meat area that refers you to the non-existent meat department. If you want the homeless to cut you in line because they’re Latin and drunk and all the workers think it’s funny, this is a great place to go. And if you like self check out and having to set everything you buy on a 12x12 weight that is hyper- sensitive and requires overrides every second, there is no reason for it. Target is better. This place has been a disaster since the original owner and full staff fled during COVID to focus on Manhattan. Shut it down. It’s a disaster.

This has been my (very) local grocery store for over a decade, and unfortunately it has taken a steep turn downhill. What was once a family-owned, excellent grocery store run by wonderful people who cared is now a Key Food with a different name. I mean that literally; they were bought by Key Food during the pandemic, and they laid off all the employees (that we loved), brought in more self-checkout, and the quality of the produce has fallen off a cliff, while the prices have climbed to extortionist levels. For the most part, the replacement staff is quite nice and usually helpful (there are a couple bad apples that seem upset you need assistance). The guys behind the prepared food counter will do a solid job on your sandwich, and the cashiers are usually pleasant and almost always efficient. They still have a rewards program where if you spend around $250 and you get like $10 credit. (Hey, it's better than nothing.)The expansion of the store a few years back means they truly have just about everything, and the beer and ice cream selections are actually phenomenal (but overpriced). However, produce we buy is occasionally going bad already, and the prices are wildly out of control. I paid $7 for two onions last week. It becomes harder and harder to justify shopping here when it's more expensive than Fresh Direct, and vastly more pricey than the fruit and vegetable spots a few blocks away. I don't risk the meat and fish any longer (not with Paisanos and Fish Tales in the hood), although Bell & Evans chicken is quite reliable. Basically, Brooklyn Fare went from an incredible market to have across street to a last-resort for items I forgot to purchase elsewhere in the neighborhood, at reasonable prices. They know we're coming in when we need something, and we're going to pay for it.Despite these shortcomings, it's still great to have a corner store that has just about everything. I can still run out and grab some milk for my wife's cookies when I've finished the last drop and she looks particularly stabby. But it's going to cost $7 for half a gallon.
