Hours: Foodtown is a big supermarket in the neighborhood with a clean and stocked store. The staff and managers are friendly, helpful and organized. Shoppers find a good variety of items including lactose free dairy, gluten free items, fresh baked goods, cold cuts, meats and seafood packages that never leak. The produce section offers beautiful berries, peaches, pineapples and the most gorgeous avocados. The seafood selection once had strong quality and good price, and the squid rings (calamari) are the biggest you will ever see. The store also carries hot banana peppers, jellies and olives that shoppers love. Bread and coconut water are popular choices and the garlic crunchy condiment in a small glass jar with a purple label is a find, though it has been out of stock for weeks. Prices are sometimes higher than before, but sales and great pricing weeks make the quality price pretty good. The AC temperature feels like Patagonia and staff wear beanies and hoodies in August, show signs of discomfort. Foodtown offers a nice big store with lots of selection, fresh items and great sales.
