About Powerhouse Arts
Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creative expression, housed in a large, purpose-built facility in Brooklyn. The space, which was once a historic building adopted by renowned architects Herzog and De Meuron, offers a vast workshop and artistic environment that is welcoming and suitable for everyone, including the disability community. It features tall ceilings, accessible bathrooms on each floor, and good-sized elevators, making it easy to navigate with canes, walkers, or wheelchairs. The center hosts a network of art and fabrication professionals and educators working together to support artists and their communities. Currently, ceramics and print studios are in operation, with more facilities opening soon. The location provides a beautiful, open setting ideal for performances, art creation, and community engagement, making it a vibrant hub for the neighborhood and the city.

Wow, what a ginormous workshop & artistic space that's out of this world! May all historic buildings be repurposed into spaces for housing & creativity!
