Original 1 star review: Darren missed something when filing my 2021 taxes because I live in a different state now. He said it was no problem and that he would resolve the issue. That was in April and I have yet to hear from him since despite my many attempts to contact him. Extremely unprofessional behavior to ghost a paying client. I have no idea if my taxes were ever properly completed.Follow up: After I posted my 1 star review Darren reached out and resolved the problem in a timely matter.

The service for the 2022 tax season was terrible. We started the process of filling the taxes with them in early March and without any prior communication they completely and unilaterally filled an extension and failed to do their job. The only email we received was a mass email to all the customers the following, I quote: "PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST AN UPDATE ON YOUR STATUS AS THIS WILL ONLY TAKE AWAY MY TIME TO PREPARE RETURNS." Upper case and everything. Extremely unprofessional.

Pros-very modern website to upload documents, submit electronic signatures, has option to drop off taxes or do in personCons- I wouldn’t recommend to a friend as it was hard to get Darren to return my call after my appointment was booked. I ultimately cancelled my appointment because when I did get him on the phone he was very short and provided one word answers. I got the feeling he couldn’t be bothered. Maybe it was a feeling of being overwhelmed, I’m not sure, but as a first timer getting my taxes done I was looking for a different experience.

I highly recommend Darren and Acade Tax Services! Making an appointment online was super easy and he had plenty of appointments available. The appointment itself was quick and easy and he explained everything to me. When I had made a mistake with a past return, he even helped me to amend it! The office is nice and in a great location. Overall, I would say you can't go wrong with Darren and Acade Tax Services!

On 3/12/21 there was a notice on their website stating they are not taking new clients followed by a thankful message for scheduling with them and a list of things to bring and how to schedule. Unfortunately for me I schedule on 3/13 and did not notice the headline and just read the body of the website. It will still allow you to schedule an appoint so make sure you see the headline. You will receive an email confirmation anyway that they will cancel on you with out telling you. Don't allow people to schedule on your website or at the very least send an email that the appt didn't go through or was canceled.

I have had family members come here for years and given the ambiguity and changes in tax laws, I really wanted to get mine professionally done for the 2020 tax year.It was an incredibly quick process (in and out in under 20 minutes) and Darren was professional, responsive, and honest throughout the process. The price for my tax prep, which was basic, was more than fair for the convenient appointment time and quickness of it, let alone it also being an informative tax prep service as well.I appreciated the fact everything was explained to me clearly and explicitly. It made me feel like I had a better understanding of the entire process and will likely help me make other financial decisions in the future.Will definitely be referring people to Acade when possible and will be returning next year.

Really pleased that this year I decided to try a new tax preparer. Darren's website and scheduling app makes getting an appt, finding out how much the visit will cost, and knowing what paperwork to bring ---all something you can do online without even speaking to anyone. We found him to be professional, prompt, reasonably priced and provided us exactly what we expected. Absolutely no doubt that we will use him next year and definitely would recommend him.

Darren does very good work for a very reasonable price. He is trustworthy, communicative, and delivers results at a timely manner. I am comfortable recommending him to my family, and have done so. He is very professional, providing digital documents with security in mind. 5 stars!
