What's odd about this location is you either get great service or horrible service. My wife and I went into rent a vehicle on Saturday March 9th. We went to the counter and I said to the agent we are here to pick up a vehicle and gave my wife's name. He said you're picking up a vehicle in someone else's name? I said no, my wife is picking it up, she is right here and pointed to her standing next to me. The agent says to me " then why am I talking to you" . I was stunned! One thing led to another and I requested a supervisor. While he was on the phone with the supervisor he repeatedly refer to me as her "handler". I'm not sure what type of insinuation that was. So I checked with Hertz, booked my car rental with them, canceled my Avis reservation and walked three counters down and got my vehicle. Maybe if more people do the same they will monitor their customer service agents a little more closely.

I rented a 12 passenger vehicle to drive from Buffalo to Fort Lauderdale and paid $1930 USD - The vehicle AVIS provided me should not have been rented to anyone! It was not until we reached Florida that we realized that the brake lights, hazard lights and signal lights were not working - Just so the AVIS executive team understands what this means -- I drove 21 hours from Buffalo to Florida with no working signal lights!! I had 7 children in the van (12 passengers in total) and 11 hours of my drive was through the night in complete darkness and bad weather! Does AVIS not care about the wellbeing of their customers??I was able to exchange the vehicle at the Fort Lauderdale airport the day after I arrived and I did get a Ford Transit vehicle however, the right signal lights were not working either! Does AVIS not do safety checks on their vehicles prior to handing over the keys to customers???

Epic fail (well, maybe not “epic” but…).No Preferred Member sign/pickup, very slow counter service (even at 11:30 pm) and dirty exterior & windshield (road salt or car wash wax).i love Avis, but NEVER again from the Buffalo airport. I’m going to get a National Emerald club membership instead.

Thanks Avis for making everything simple. We even got a free upgrade. We will rent again.

Do not rent from Avis. They give you depleted EVs, not full gas tanks, and the charge you when they make all the mistakes.

I typically do not leave one star reviews. But the women at the front desk were as rude as I’ve ever seen. I am too annoyed to even repeat what they said. Perhaps it was because my flight was late.

They didn't have the car we thought we were getting. They offered us a "4 wheel drive" truck instead. That was fine until we got caught in a snow storm and discovered the truck was not 4 wheel drive and it had summer tires. It was pretty sketchy. The truck smelled bad inside. The windshield wipers needed to be replaced and the inside of the windshield was filthy. After a few days we returned the truck as planned and rented a car which was much better than the truck in the snow.

I really unhappy with the AVIS change of $411.88 while it was estimated at the reservation as $402.50.Should the inaccuracy of the estimation be in the range of cents, or ~$10?When I look at the bill it shows a $6.99 charge as "Fuel Service" which I have no idea why it has been charged to me. I went to gas stations twice to make sure the tank is completely full. I even asked the guy who checked me out and he said everything is ok and I will receive my receipt on emails. Are Avis checkout employees taking advantage of the paperless procedure to revoke the opportunity of even disputing their judgement about the fuel?
