This bank if the biggest piece of trash bank I’ve ever dealt with. They don’t help their customers in any way shape or form. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and this morning I woke up to see my account overdrawn. I immediately took care off the issue but I was charged with a late fee for being overdrawn for a matter of an hour! Truly pathetic bank! Do not waste your time with this garbage place.

I have been very happy with our local branches at Bank on Buffalo. Ryan, Brad, Aaron and the rest of the team have always been friendly and knowledgeable with any questions I may have.

I was wondering what the issue was and after reading the reviews i am glad I did not get any further to opening a trust account. I could not bear the fact the officers at the downtown branch were very rude and unprofessional. I thought this institution would meet my needs with a trust account and managing millions of dollars of my business. I found the lady rude, unprofessional, dishonest. This was the reason I was looking for a new institution. Too much unlawful behavior in these institutions, they all need to be cleaned up. Why I gave it 2 stars. I dont know but I am glad I did not open a bank account up and then rate it one star.

Extremely difficult to get a loan officer on the phone. This bank misrepresents itself on their commercial advertisements . They certainly are not community oriented. Stay away

I applied for a mortgage with Bank on Buffalo. Their website had me fill out a very vague application with questions like how long I’ve been at my current address, how much I pay in rent, how long I’ve been at my job, and such. They issued me a prequalification letter. My offer was then accepted on a house. Then the bank asked me to submit tax returns, bank statements, paystubs at which point they said my income was too low for a mortgage. My realtor said they did not give me their “due diligence” and should not have issued me a prequal before receiving all my documents first. She then referred me to 1st Priority Mortgage. I’m now the proud new owner of a house. Save yourself the stress and go straight to 1st Priority Mortgage. And they even gave me a lower interest rate.

The low review ratings don’t surprise me. I’m not a fan of BankOnBuffalo. Their rates are much higher than other local banks, yet they claim to be focused on supporting the community. It’s also extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone.

I wanted the feel of a personal bank when refinancing my house. When I went late August to talk to the bank representative I felt confident in my choice. The Bank Manager Annette came out and was so nice as always! Paul helped us go through the application and it was moving fast by late September we were confident 60 days we would be closed and have our renovation moving. Unfortunately it stopped completely. We had a few minor hiccups. That is seemed to turn into major haults in the loan. A refinance takes 60 days ours took 120 days. Bank on Buffalo's back office and lawyers seemed lazy,missed paperwork and signatures. I had to reach out weekly to ask what was happening. Both my siblings purchased homes this year both closed within 45 days. I was devasted as when I went into the bank in August I said I need the money by November to start a renovation I was told not a problem, in September told it's moving so fast we will close in weeks. I closed December 23rd. I would not recommend this bank I would have been better off with a large corporate bank with staff that could handle my simple refinance.

I went to sign up for free checking with this bank because they're close to where I work. My experiences are typically good but lately I've had nothing but issues. They locked my debit card so I cant use it with paypal, their atm machine wouldn't take cash deposits for the last 3 days ( 9/16-9/19) I went to the atm each night after I got out of work around 8 pm and the machine would just spit my cash out and wouldn't be able to process the deposit. I was able to make a deposit on 9/20. Now today (9/21) I contact paypal asking why I couldn't link my card OR bank account using the account number and routing number and they told me my card was locked by security feature by my bank. Funny how they lock me out of using my cash but are able to process my transactions at their atm. I'll be withdrawing my money from the account and closing it once it turns 6 months old.... to avoid a fee for closing it too early. I would NOT recommend this bank. They have 1 location in all of WNY and although they offer free atms to people under 25 it's such a hassle to use them since you need to use an ALLPOINT atm which are only available at certain places like cvs/wegmans and most dont allow deposits, only the one at the bank so if you need to bank outside normal hours you're screwed since their atm breaks frequently. So for 3 days I was unable to use my own cash to purchase a part to repair my vehicle and now it's going to take even longer for it to come in the mail since I'm not able to order it with this card on my paypal. If you're wondering why I need to use paypal, I'm using the insurance feature they have for buying goods and services for something off Ebay. So for instance, if my part arrives defective I can contest it through paypal. If I sent the money using just my card it wouldn't insure my purchase and I may end up screwed if the part were to be defective. They have nice tellers and and nice waiting room and the fee for over drafting is $32 not $38.50 like every other bank in the area but for me I'll go back to M&T. Shame because I really like the people who work here but they need to straighten out these issues if they want to keep customers and grow into a competitor for the banks in the area like M&T and Key bank.
