Visiting Buffalo and dropped in for the "Barre Centric" class with Elle. Of the many barre classes I've taken over the years, this was one of the best! Great instructor--informative and motivating. Spacious, clean, sunny studio. Fun music. Challenging movements for all fitness levels (there was a wide range within the clientele in my class--all rocking it!). I run and lift almost every day, but forgot how killer those tucks are! Would recommend for anyone. First class is free, so might as well try!

I absolutely LOVE Barre Centric! You can come in at any fitness level with no previous experience and fit right in. The duration of exercise is perfect to fit into any schedule (45-55min). Each class offered is challenging in its own way, and gives great diversity to keep you on your toes; quite literally. It’s a huge bonus that each workout hits every muscle, every time! They are always changing the choreography to keep things fresh and challenging. And don’t let the word “choreography” scare you, no dance background necessary at all! The instructors or “barretenders” are all so sweet and are very informative while teaching the classes; making sure everyone is challenged but doing each position correctly to get the most out of each movement. I was able to see results my first month and continue to become stronger, leaner, and more flexible with each class. Going to Barre Centric is something I look forward to and has become my little workout family :)

They discriminate based on personal medical decisions. Go elsewhere.

The downtown Barre Centric might be the second location out of the current three, but it's where I took my first official Barre Centric class (my true first class was at Wilkeson Pointe Park, and I liked what I saw, and here we are). Now that the new year has started, I'll be spending plenty of time at the location that kicked off my experience. This location is at the corner of Main and West Ferry, so it's easy to get to from most directions. There is off street parking, which can fill up quickly, but I've never had an issue with street parking and finding a spot right in front of the building. It's easiest to enter through the back entrance in the parking lot, that door is closer to the storage area and restroom, and there's more room to switch out of your shoes and into those grippy socks. If you forget your socks, never fear, there are socks and other gear for sale, just like the other locations. Downtown is definitely the smallest of the three locations, so classes fill up early here. Do yourself a favor and sign up in advance, especially if you're trying to go to Barre Resist. As always, the taller barre is in the front. Don't fear the tall barre, some moves are just easier on it. I promise, you'll be fine. This studio has all four classes on the schedule, although as of this review, there aren't any Barre Bounce classes at Downtown. I tend to go for standard Barre Centric (also in 45 minute express format) and Barre Resist (for those PT friendly stretches). Barre Bounce originally debuted here, and I preferred it here with the high ceiling, although the chances of actually hitting the ceiling were low. If it's your first time, consider choosing a class with either co-owner, Gia or Rachael. Both ladies are wonderful teachers and truly enjoy what they do, and it's obvious to anyone watching. Now that I'm in the middle of a barre challenge, I know I'll be spending lots of additional time at the Downtown location. Barre Centric is a great place to make big changes with small moves. Take it up an inch and down an inch downtown!

Attended my first Yelp Fit Club event a couple weeks ago. Barre Centric hosted us. The studio is very nice, there is a room in the back to leave your stuff. The floors were padded. There is a bar on the front wall by the mirror and along the back wall as well. They provided all the equipment we needed which included a mat, a balance disc, light hand weights and a resistance band. The workout was well designed and easy to follow. The instructor did well describing the moves and demonstrating. The workout targeted each major group of muscles in the arms, back, abs/core, butt, and legs. The music playing in the background helped to keep the pace. The moves are small and precise but they really work as you repeat them. My muscles were shaking especially during the leg exercises. I will definitely be buying some classes. I parked on the street which was easy.

Going to Barre Centric is one of my favorite things to do! The instructors are personable and supportive - and the other clients have become my barre friends. It's amazing to finally feel like I'm being held accountable for my health - but in a way that motivates me. Barre Centric gives me a positive attitude and has helped me tone all over while having fun!

Barre Centric is a great alternative to a traditional gym - especially for anyone who has ever danced (though you definitely don't need to have a dance background to do Barre). The instructors take the time to check form, which ensures you get the most from your workout. I love the 45-minute class - it's perfect for escaping a hectic workday!

Barre Centric changed my life! The instructors are so fun and always happy! You really cannot ask for more! The routine changes often so it never gets boring, the instructors actually care about you, and ensure you're doing the moves correctly. Doesn't matter how long you've done barre, the routine is always tough, effective, and best part - LOW IMPACT! You will not be doing crossfit at age 70! Barre is sustainable and Barre Centric is the place! Supporting local business is a plus!
