The service was great and the staff were all nice to me but however, I didn't like the fact that we had to wait 4 hours for our name to be called it is just crazy! But overall, I had good service there

My dad was here for care after a stroke. His care was mismanaged and otherwise very inadequate. Some of the staff were helpful which is why I gave it 2*. I would highly discourage you from using the hospital for yourself or the ones you love.

I was treated horribly from Natasha Petersen NP and Amanda May MD. It was Labor Day weekend and the ER was not very busy. They just didn’t want to help me. I could barely walk into the triage room or to the bathroom due to the pain radiating down my entire leg and back pain I was experiencing. The staff watched as I could barely breathe from the pain and was holding onto things to walk to the restroom down the hall, never offering assistance. They continued to try to give me medication that was contraindicated from my GI doctor. And since they said it was just my sciatica acting up they refused any imaging. I let them know several times this was beyond that type of pain as that is a pain I am familiar with and something is very wrong. I tried to advocate for myself and attempted to get a hold of a patient advocate or nurse manager. I was told by Caroline the operator I was not “entitled” to speak to those people. I eventually did speak to a supervisor so was finally given a very low dose of pain medication however still refused imaging and no relief of pain. They discharged me with nothing. Watched me hold onto walls and try to catch my breath on my way out. saw my primary the following day who felt very strongly that I had a herniated disc, the mri showed my disc actually had several pieces broken off. Thankfully I was able to see a neurosurgeon quickly and two days after that appointment had back surgery. I developed foot drop as well as severe weakness in my right leg. My surgery was two weeks after my ER visit. During that time I had to use a walker, slept for 45 minute periods at a time at night, could barely move or use the bathroom due to pain and weakness. I do believe I would not have developed foot drop and this much weakness in my right leg had the ER treated me properly. I have been in physical therapy for over a month now and have a long way to go in my recovery. I have filled out a lengthy survey and received a call from a the hospital relations manager, Lori Stoudmire, and received a very generic letter in return. I have also since tried to make a formal complaint as she was just responding to my survey however she has not called me back, that was now over a week ago since I left that voicemail. I had previously tried filing a complaint with Casey at the access center on September 26th however no one has attempted to call me back from that either. My goal with this follow up was to make sure the doctor and NP are aware that people can be in significant pain and it shouldn’t simply be ignored because they think you are faking and just don’t feel like it. They are supposed to be in this profession to help people. Truly they do not care about the concerns of their patients or the treatment. Absolutely do not recommend going to this ER.

Horrible Service. Visited in August, kept waiting for a long time. Understand if you have to keep waiting but don't be so rude for replying or answering questions. The bill was very very high, been to a different hospital for the same injury. Had xray taken, the doctor came and said about the injury. Didn't bother to show me the xray and show what is the area of injury and how severe it is. After requesting to see the xray, the nurse got rude again. The doctor showed it but it didn't look like it was any good analysis. After paying the sky rocketing price, they didn't even gave me the xray file (last hospital gave xray's to me )

I got there 12:30 /12:45 it’s 6 pm and yet to be seen I’m known for Blood clots and A/fib they just let me sat and never checked on me and this lady came in about 3:30 and she only sat there 30 minutes just she was older than I but that doesn’t mean she was sicker than I was she was laughing with the nurse and I’m sitting there feeling the same pain I had the last time I had a blood clot also my chest hurt I’ve had one hurt surgery they put a stint and I’m suppose to be having another one they need some structure in that emergency room if they was dying I could see them skipping but everyone shouldn’t have to stand back for there favorite I’ve also saw friends family and coworkers come in and on the down low they end up in back before anyone that emergency room is trouble so I just took my name off and pray I be ok until I call the doctor tomorrow

The ER was very busy so we were not surprised that it took time to get through each step but we realized it was done so inefficiently. It was hours before one of the staff decided they could help by drawing bloodwork. Then we were informed all exam rooms were full. They didn’t leave a single room available for exams like a doctor office would have. After 11 hours we left.

I didn't believe the other reviews, big mistake. You wait and they don't care. Dozens of staff sitting around on their phones and talking and laughing. The emergency waiting room was empty early in the am, not busy. Sent back to a treatment room and nobody checks on you for hours while you bleed. I figured people were upset with the cost and wrote bad reviews. It's that bad at buffalo general. I'm still waiting while writing this review and bleeding. If this was any legitimate business it would be closed. Poorly run by useless incompetent overpaid staff

Very bad experience. It does not matter how emergency situations you have. You have to stay in line and they are so slow and unprofessional. And they will spend your all day any way!! I brother had an injury in his had and it was bleeding around 2 hours but you had to wait long time without treatment……

This hospital was a damn joke. My niece had to be transferred from ECMC to come here to get heart surgery. The head nurse was a freaking bitch. Her name was Conny and she needed to get her ass whooped. She was so mean to my niece in to any of her visitors. When you're in healthcare, you don't treat your patience like crap especially when they're getting heart surgery or something else serious like that and she treated my niece like she was garbage. The doctor was nice who took care of her, came to talk with us afterwards, but the nurses were all just evil. I would never recommend anybody going here who I stay there. This is the 15th floor nurses so you're all aware So if you're stuck on the 15th floor and you have a nurse named Connie, run !! They did not want to feed my niece,They would not come when she hit the call button to go to the bathroom or for food or medication or whatever they ignored her. They would make her and her roommate wait forever to go to the bathroom if they showed up at all. It would either forget about you when bringing food supposedly or your medication or they just didn't feel like showing up and they would make you starve. I would rather die than go to this hospital for care. Because the fact is is they don't care. Place wasn't very clean either as was kind of a dirty hospital. When my niece's first roommate left, they never came to clean that side of the room for about nine hours after the woman left. They left her nasty, dirty, gross bed filled with whatever was in it ,a whole big container of urine that sat there all day long that made the whole room smell like piss, and just her filth and dirt and things thrown on the floor. It was just ridiculous. The only reason this hospital gets two stars. It's because like I said the doctor was nice, I was helped out a lot by a nurse on the third floor who is very very nice when my niece was in surgery,And my niece lived through the surgery, and the job was done. So the doctor helped her. But I do not recommend staying here or going here for anything else other than if you have a problem with your heart .

This place is ridiculous. They waited 4 hours to give me a urine sample cup. Hell in 4 hours no one has even checked on me then I go to the bathroom and come back and there's a urine sample cup sitting in my purse like hello now you remember I'm a patient. And I'm not hooked up to anything. I could have died and they wouldn't have known. Will never come back to this ER even if it's life or death.

waited 3 days for a discharge. Doctors took over 5 days to sign FLMA paperwork l, because of this I am seriously behind in bills. Feels like they don't care.

So let’s start by saying that waiting in an emergency room for hours is expected. However we arrived from out of town as my husband was having shortness of breath and we had been in Canada. Within minutes of our arrival they had given him an EKG. Then within a half an hour he had blood work and an X-ray taken. His paperwork and intake was handled pretty quickly and then the long wait began. It was a busy day and as the hours ticked by, we still felt ok as he had his blood pressure retested by a nurse who did it in the waiting room. When we were finally admitted to a triage room, he was seen by two nurses and then the attending doctor. They were all very thorough and he was finally discharged with his paperwork and copies of all of his tests to show to his doctors at home. When we left to get something to eat I realized I had lost my wallet. In a panic I drove back to the ER and the security guard on duty had it in a drawer - nothing was taken and I was incredibly relieved. What a day! If you are ever in or near Buffalo and have to go to an ER, go there. The staff was professional and friendly and the wait is something you have to live with. Bring a book!
