I love hot topic but this one is so cramped and dark, and I have never seen a sale rack here. It makes me feel trapped and I never find anything I want enough to pay full price for it at this one. I also noticed that the staff at this location tend to crowd behind the register and not acknowledge customers.

HOT TOPIC -WALDEN GALLERIA Is one of a kind, not only are the staff accommodating and kind, they're honest and show integrity, how do I know something like that? Well simply looking at how they handle there Funkos is a huge indicator in their integrity, most stores receive there funkos and instantly look for the Chases, they then proceed to either Mark these funkos up by about $50.00 depending on which one it is, or the staff will put it on hold for themselves, never giving the customer a chance to recieve a Chase in store, I've gotten quite a few Chases from here, they are genuinely happy for the customer when that customer finds that Chase. Unfortunately there aren't many places left that hold true to how the Chase System is supposed to work. Hot Topic serves as a role model for other Funko Retailers. Here's one I got at 11:30am in Hot Topic. They're open at 10am so I couldn't believe it.

Went to the Galleria Mall to pick up an online order At Hot Topic the store was nice clean and organized . While I'm there you have to look around! I found a cute butterfly hair clip for my daughter. I know the mall is less crowded then in days passed but in the short time I was there 4 people came into store that's saying something! When I got home I noticed a 25 % off coupon stapled to my bag of my online order I wish I known because it said you could use today or another day I would have used it on my hair clip!!

I rarely go here but will occasionally pop in if looking for a shirt from an IP I think might be carried here.
The customer service is abysmal. You really feel like you're entering the staffs' private clubhouse or something and your mere presence is getting in their way. It's wild to see because I used to work for the company in the early 00s and we paid attention to customer service (as well as sales... and knew customer service translated to sales and the numbers this company was focused on, like average sale and UPT)
I recently had one positive interaction with an associate who I'm guessing from age was probably a manager but even that wasn't until I cashed out. From entering to looking around, to searching for size, to trying the fitting room, to looking around, to cashing out, nothing. Honestly as someone who has worked retails from bottom level to management my biggest takeaway from that experience was the propensity of being a target for shrink. Seriously, I could have pocketed a lot, especially with being able to get into the fitting room without assistance and seemingly no attention paid to my journey through the store.
Galleria is a high shrink location. I know this having worked here in the 00s as well as now and it's about prevention. Customer services targets a host of retail goals. From sales to shrink prevention. Also, as a person working with people, you would think you'd want to have some social engagement. If not, what are you doing working in retail? I get Hot Topic stereotypically targets a certain culture... well, maybe not anymore, but I remember the emphasis on customer service back in the day was also about breaking stereotypes and creating a sense of belonging. This only served to perpetuate gatekeeping and project and image to anyone entering the store that you're an easy target. Also, as a company, I saw at least 3 people on the clock, it might have been 4. What are you paying for? What a waste of resources to pay to have people hanging at the cash wrap, talking, when surrounded by customers who might need assistance or don't know they need assistance until you ask, potentially creating sales, or engaging while they're looking at something, making them more inclined to buy it. That is Retail 101.

Honestly, the people are great in this store, however I don't often see new merchandise and need to shop more online or go to a bigger store. It's clean, folks are friendly and very helpful.

I came in from Ontario, Marz greeted me, and was so happy to help. The store was stocked, clean and organized. And Marz, being the only person on the floor was so very helpful. 10 bazillion stars.
