Extremely disappointed that the public viewing area on the property has been closed for a few months with no reason given.I reached out on social media 2 months ago and was told communication would be coming soon. My subsequent follow-up messages have been left on "seen" and ignored. The hill has been publicly accessible for decades and is second-to-none for plane spotting. I've been watching planes there for 30+ years. To have it quickly closed, seemingly in perpetuity, is sad. If the rumors about a few troublemakers are true, I hope they are dealt with appropriately. But to remove access for everyone forever over one or two people feels like a big overreaction. It would be a shame to lose such a great spot forever.

(THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE PUBLIC AREA IN FRONT OF MERCY FLIGHT, NOT THE SERVICE ITSELF, WHICH IS EXCEPTIONAL)As far as I know, you’re not allowed to spot planes for now, but you probably won’t need to here until the runway nearby reopens in September. However, this was otherwise an incredible place for plane spotting. Hopefully the people making trouble here are caught, but I feel that having “limited access” to here forever is pushing it a little, and if that is the case, I will decrease my rating.

reopen the public viewing area! super special spot for me and my good friends. seems overkill to block it off to absolutely everyone.

They like to kick out disabled kids from viewing planes on their hill. Very displeased.

Some of the most dedicated and professional folks in EMS that you'll ever meet... Well maintained facilities, equipment, as well as prompt response times for both MedEvac Flights and Ground Ambulance operations

On New Years Eve 12/31/20 I was running a few errands. I wanted to get things done early and off the road. As I went past General Hospital I saw the Mercy Flight Helicopter parked there. It brought back memories. Approximately 8 years or so back I saw the Mercy Flight in action. I was on 490 west bound. As I approached exit 1, I saw a huge plume of black smoke, I knew something was wrong. When I got off the at the ramp, all traffic was stopped. I parked and walked down to the scene. A tractor-trailer and car collided. It was a bad accident. Mercy Flight was there working with fire and police agencies. Mercy Flight is a dedicated, highly trained group of medical and emergency people. They're a non-profit agency here in western New York. They have 6 offices. In their fleet is a Lear Jet, Helicopters and Ambulances.

I brought students from The Academy of Science and Healthcare, Mt. Mercy Academy and they had a wonderful tour and learned about how Mercy Flight helps individuals in WNY. We are very blessed in this area to have such a great service! Thank you.

I'm pretty sure I made a review of this before but... I was there as the grateful participant of the july ice cream adventure. It was a very good Yelp party with pizza, chicken wings and sushi provided. The great thing about this is that we were taken on a tour of the Mercy Flight offices, dispatch hangar and classrooms. All very informative and I enjoyed the time that they took to educate on what they provide to the community and beyond. Dedicated personell and staff very appreciative of us being there and participating for a very small donation but a large show of support for a much needed EMS spoke in the wheel

What a nice treat, this special Yelp visit to Mercy Flight. You hear about them but know so little about them. While enjoying nice sushi, pizza and wings (Teton and hmm, forgot, but it was very good) Ashley and Kate told us a lot about Mercy flight. Most important: it is still a non-profit! They now have 6 bases in WNY with helicopters, a Lear Jet and a huge fleet of ambulances. We saw the soon to be retired helicopter and the brand new, just out of wrapping paper Bell 429. The pilot asked us if we would like to experience a take off! Of course, are you kidding. Soon they took of for a training flight. Too bad they did not take me along. Anyway, it was a great experience. I learned a lot about Mercy Flight. Thanks Kate, Ashley and Alex.

After a lovely meal provided by Alex of sushi from Teton, pizza, and wings( cannot remember from where)Kate and Ashley welcomed us and presented a PowerPoint presentation about Mercy Flight. We learned about the response time, the distances their helicopters and Lear Jet can fly and about the teams on the plane, in the helicopter and in the ambulances. We then were taken on a tour of the helicopter garage with one of the old, about to be retired helicopter, and a brand new one. The copter pilot came into the garage and asked us if we'd like to see it take off. He had a training flight to do, so we got watch him do a preflight check and take off. It was very exciting.
