Do not use their national customer service line!! ONLY CALL YOUR LOCAL BRANCH. The national representatives don't know anything. I ordered a new card at my local branch after I suspected fraud on mine. The branch told me it would be expedited and arrive the next day. I then called the customer service line to check its location. The customer service representative told me that it would take 7-10 business days, and that it wasn't expedited. I then called the local branch and they told me that the national costumer service represtentative had CANCELLED my card. So now I now have to do the process all over again. I'm really upset. I'm about to go on a trip and won't have this card and this is a big headache. The local branch is great and really helpful, but I regret calling the national line.

Do NOT use M&T Bank!!! My 97 year old WWII veteran father has been a loyal customer for decades. His bank card was recently stolen and the thief took $20K!!! No M&T claims that they won't replace the $ because every transaction was considered "authorized" due to the fact that it used his debit card. M&T did NOTHING to secure his account and never shut it down when the system saw unauthorized transactions! Now my 96 yr old dad on a fixed income is out $20K! If he didn't have another account, he'd be on the streets!!! These people are the worst!!! Never use M&T Bank!

M & T bank is the ABSOLUTE best. You call a branch and they answer. The online banking is exceptional. Very smooth interface and functionality. Great customer service and overall banking. Anyone on here writing a bad review should get their head examined because they are very wrong.

Locked me out of my account. Couldn't help over the phone. I was headed to a fair, so I wanted cash and it wouldn't let access it. It would show the balance, but not allow withdrawals. Useless oversized bank

Was scammed online in July; cancelled transaction with the crook, called M&T immediately and was told the money would not go through until the 12th. On the 12th they put the money through after telling them I was scammed/robbed. Was promised that someone would get in touch, would receive paperwork to fill out & complete, told to keep all correspondence. 3 days later & no paperwork but the money was put through! Called the bank and got a finger waving that I shouldn't have done it; I was a victim of a crime &, well aware. I asked about the paperwork; was told it should be there soon. On 6th day nothing; sent follow up email and to this day no phone call or email back. I received a letter stat"after a through investigation..." the claim was denied. I'm not sure how thorough because no one has yet to call or paperwork filled out. Called customer service, who was only department who followed up about the way I was treated and was told it would have been different if it was a million dollar transaction not my puddly 2,000. After being a customer for 50 years this is how treated. My money is nothing to them and if there is a fraud department it's a joke because no one has contacted me. Would never use this bank or recommend & if I could give a negative rating I would. Unless you have millions or don't mind being lectured rather than having the department contact me,don't bother. Again customer service did what they could, but not able to do anything.

I attempted to do a refinance with my current mortgage company m&t bank to streamline the process. I had a great start so i thought with the refinance guy Christopher Murphy whom disclosed most of the fees and made it all sound good. Christopher Murphy called me back and offered me an appraisal waiver, lower interest then initial discussion as a voicemail i still have and advised i only would have to pull out of pocket 55 dollars to fully refinance my house. I never asked for anything special this was just offered to me and i was estatic. Well when the documents came there were fees not disclosed 205 loan processing, appraisal fee 636, and the 55 for credit check listed. Immediately i call Christopher Murphy, he assures me i wont be charged the bank is using old documents and its ok. I insisted they be corrected because i cannot sign something thats incorrect because this is signed agreement. I get advised that this will hold up and or cancel loan if i dont sign. So i do against better judgment i signed and proceeded. Then i get approved the final documents after approval are saying i need 636 dollars i have to prove i have it to close and i receive it sunday the 7th electronically and it is dated 2/7 but says all documents are due by 2/3 or i void my refinance. Yes the dates are correct i still have the documents and it is rediculious. Oh and the 636 they wanted was that appraisal they promised me was waived. You bet i called the original broker Christopher Murphy, i called the closing agent tina bailey and i emailed amy spruce the lady listed in my documents. No one would answer my questions no one would follow up no one would fix the documents. I demanded a manager or supervisor to speak to about this and to discuss correction or cancelation to customer service via online email which still have them emails too by the way. You know what i got? Tabitha Springer in customer service refused a member of leadership and canceled my refinance on her own against my request for member of leadership. Just brushed off. Never mind the crooked handling of the refinance. I wanted to speak to leadership about the mishandling of my refinance and give them one last chance to fix it but Tabitha Springer made it quite clear that my business wasn't welcome nor worth her time. No follow up at all from leadership or any individual listed in this whole ordeal. Reports filed with attorney general, bbb, and ftc because this is fraudulent mishandling. The documents were fraudulently executed with incorrect charges, brokers refused to correct the incorrect billings in documents, lack of disclosure of all charges in closing costs they were adding 10k to my loan and listing less than 5k in charges. Someone faked a larger number for property value than what i said the tax collector office and the online comps said... they put in documents way higher value as if to remove pmi. I stated the tax comps said 179k and online trulia zillow etc said worth up to 189k they fudged papers to reflect 205k. The way this was handled was completely illegal and needs to be investigated. I won't rest til everyone accountable is held accountable and prosecuted. Don't use this company there reviews everywhere are awful mine is tip of ice berg, they clearly are crooks, my review here is one of thousands of mishaps. Please do your own research.

I'm sorry. Ive been trying to pay my M&T credit card each month over the phone because they took it off my mobile banking bc they closed my acct. OMG it takes forever to get through the phone and the recording says they are extremely busy and then hangs up. So I try this a few times stil same response. So I drive to my bank for which I made an appointment on line with Myriam. Then I get there and they won't let me in saying Myriam doesn't work here. Wtf i just want to pay my M&T credit card. WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT?? It should take 2 seconds to pay online. Now it's a fiasco every month I pay it through the phone or in store. Please add my acct back to my mobile banking!!

I'm literally paying for their mistake. There is no such thing as customer service here. M&T Bank made a mistake and applied one of my mortgage payments incorrectly. I made the mistake of not checking that it was applied correctly. My mortgage has always been paid on time if not early, and I've never had to keep checking payment statements until now. Instead of correcting the payment that was misapplied, they told me that because it was past 90 days, it can't be reapplied. So now it shows that I'm missing a payment, and they charged me late fees every single month after they made the mistake. I called several times, spoke to a range of individuals who do a horrible job noting the account as I've had to fully explain my situation to each individual every singel time (even when the call was transferred). When I asked for a supervisor because no one could help, the two supervisors I spoke to were unable to do anything accept submit ANOTHER request to have it looked at. No one returned my calls when they said they would. I had to keep calling back to get no answers. And after 3 weeks, I had to call again to see if my request to apply my payment correctly was looked at, and they told me nothing can be done because of this 90 day "rule". I did not choose this company, they somehow took over my mortgage from my previous lender. M&T Bank is very robotic and customer service, the managers and supervisors show they have no power to do anything for customers.

#MandTBankSucks #BadBank #WorstBankEver #StayAway stay away from M&T Bank when deciding who holds on to and manages your hard earned money @MandT_Bank - people need to be more aware of how bad it is to deal with the employees of this bank! every dept employees are just terrible! Bank managers title only, telephone customer service just argue never fix, credit dept manager discriminates. the only way that you get thru with any employee at this bank is if your account is well in to six figures. If you want to alleviate turmoil in your life, stay far away from this bank!

Summer fun in the summertime...so glad I can enjoy music on my lunch hour. So glad M& T showcases bands and musicians to give us free music. Everyday it is a different genre and a great place to listen to the sounds and also people watch while enjoying your lunch. Hot dog vendors, food trucks or bring your lunch. Tables are available and plenty of place to sit. Only a few weeks left to enjoy!!

m&t bank has been holding my flood insurance disbursement to collect interest on it for 7 weeks, while i cannot pay the workers that have been working on my property, nor recover my lost savings i have gone through to pay what i can to the people working on my property. i am currently trying to re-fi to not have m&t bank as my mortgage holder. they should be ashamed of themselves.
