I bought a the ingredients to make bubble tea at home only to realize that my tapioca pearls were expired from last year. I took the bag back to get it exchanged and the store owners went ballistic on me saying its.priced so cheap because it's expired(???) And when I said I'll take it back as is they accused me of stealing. Terrible terrible experience shopping with my family. Definitely not going back due to the poor service, expired products and overall extremely unpleasant experience. Pls find another Asian grocery store.

Parking and entrance are in the back of the store. Not accessible but always worth the effort. I've been shopping here for years. They have a little bit of everything. Prices are fair and products are varied! Lots of things to keep a curious person busy for years. The produce isn't always the freshest but they have specialties that are worth the find. A lot of times the produce doesn't need to be perfectly fresh because you're going to ferment it, wilt it, or boil it down anyway.

Easily one of the largest and most impressive Chinese markets I have seen in a long time !Massive amounts of food items , serving and cooking wares and the largest selection of refrigerated and frozen items I have seen in the last 5 years and that is saying a lot!Great prices and selection of anything you might ever want, need , or desire .

I love Ni-Hoowa and have been shopping there for over 15 years. They always have my favorite bao from Chef Hon and the vegetable selection is perfect for Asian cuisine and fresh. The owners are super friendly and this is a great place to come and explore a variety of new to me foods and sweets. It's a smaller mom and pop grocery store with a few rows of steamer pots and cooking utensils so I never feel intimidated coming here. The variety of exotic sauces and spices are fun to explore and try out too!

Please read!!!! Something has happened at Ni Hoowa and it's not normal. TLDR; Please please please support them!!!! They have been here for so long and even when they evidently struggle their stuffs are so well priced and legit good products that only come from experienced procurement.Listen, if you look at the previous bad reviews, they're not lying, my experience is similar: the place is a mess and only two workers are present. After my visit, my spidey sense keeps urging me to do some research. If you do a simple google photo search, you'd see photos of Ni Hoowa 7 years ago: a nicely organized place with so much asian produce and cultural touches. They were the giant and the pioneer.Reviewed 7 years ago!!! And founded way before Tiktok!!! They were here before asian culture is appreciated in the US and kungfu was still $3.75 a pop! Why the disarray?? The current chaos??? Why the produce that requires good suppliers such as good meat and bones (if you cook asian dishes you know the specific cuts of meat) are still EXCELLENT, the canned goods so diverse (Im telling you these people KNOW their stuff) BUT THE PLACE IS SO DUMPY??My theory: they have given up on running a proper store and is hanging on by a thread, but still providing what they do best with their experience with suppliers and experience. Please please please support them!!!! They have been here for so long and even when they evidently struggle their stuffs are so well priced and legit good products that only come from experienced procurement. The reason for the struggle you may ask? The place looks like it has been robbed or sabotaged, but I can't find a police record. I even read their public info but no clues. Maybe the pandemic has lost them employees? Profitability? Most importantly, competition. No shade to the other supermarket iykyk Im also a fan of them and Im all for new development BUT that's another reason to save Ni Hoowa, it's saving us too from a monopoly esque market for asian food.I would not be this hung up on the store if they dont sell genuinely good products at unbeatable prices. I lied, I also notice that they open so so late at night, the workers are elders and they remind me of the working elders with no retirement in Asia.If you are understandably not comfortable buying fresh food, they have dry canned food too. If you don't need anything from them, I'd just want you to know they used to be the the beacon of asian culture in our neighborhood.

It's not Wegmans. But it is the best place I've found locally to get the real thing oriental food. The spice section alone is worth the stop. Now if I could only come up with an excuse to buy one of those 4 ft wide woks they have...

Horrible experience, I'm going to try to make this un biased as possible but I have to tell my incident. My children and I were planning a movie night so what a better way than to try new snacks? I personally had been dying to go here so perfect excuse. We get there I already knew what to expect I drive past this place all the time I knew it looks closed down even when open. I figured out quickly you have to go all the way around back. Sure the parking lot is dilapidated, diamond in the rough right ? Wrong. We get inside my girls are super excited within the first minute they are throwing things in the basket. I spot papaya, it's a win. But then I notice the women who was bundled up behind the counter (because it's freezing and they have no heat) is no pretending to shuffle items around while watching me intensely. I ask her a question she seems annoyed that I even asked but keeps watching. I leave the isle and circle around a suddenly those items that she was so intent on organizing are no longer important because she is now in the next isle watching me yet again. My money is green and spends all the same I don't enjoy being discriminated against. I was really disappointed I expected some really cool variety snacks, and while they did have some good stuff not as nearly much as I was hoping not worth being followed around for. A lot of items that should be refrigerated are sitting on ice, that is melting. So I skipped. Please take note the store is a complete mess, all of the shelves look like they haven't been touched in a year! I know she just didn't get the spring cleaning bug. I'm open to all culture and foods and love visiting new places. I wanted to drop everything I had on the floor and walk out, but my children who are very young and we super excited would not have understood and I would of had to drag them out. But let's be clear spending that $23.11 felt like high treason and I would have rather burned it. I will never return.

I’m not sure if I visited on a bad day or what but it was a Saturday afternoon and the place was filthy, disorganized, and absolutely freezing. I hope they are able to get what they need to improve the store.

Look, it's messy, there's ZERO customer service, and it's difficult to find prices sometimes. However, they have everything, and it's cheap. I'm talking 4 lbs of shrimp for $20 bucks cheap. (Yes, you have to break the box down into smaller portions, but it's worth it.) They have an amazing selection of snacks, ramen, condiments, cooking equipment, oils, sauces, furikake, seafood, kimchi, frozen dumplings, shumai... So much! If you are a fussy person, don't go- produce is either great or rotten, but you can find great deals on garlic, shallots, cabbage, daikon, bok choy, basil, etc. Also check out the weird and wild assortment of stuff in the side room. (My son got a belt he loves for $2.99!). Just go, and prepare yourself for a little chaos.

My wife just immigrated from Taiwan, so she had been looking for ingredients for cooking that she was familiar with. This market had nearly everything we were looking for, minus a few things. Prices were reasonable for the products we bought.
