“I absolutely love the Dollar Tree. They have tons and tons of art and craft stuff but a fraction of the price that you would pay at a craft store. The store is great for stocking stuffers, making birthday or holiday baskets. Home decor to kitchen, utensils, and even food! This is one of the my few fav stores to shop at. It literally has a mix of everything!”

“As a previous Supervisor for CVS Pharmacy, I avoided this store for months because the night staff was horrible. You could never find an employee to even check you out, waiting for 10 to 20 minutes for one person to come out of the back even when it was busy, and then they were very rude. One night a few weeks back I HAD to run in because I absolutely needed something and I was amazed that the store was more organized, fully stocked and clean. Then, I did not have to wait to check out! First time I was able to run in and out of the store. Ever since that stop, I have become a regular customer again and it has been a consitant great experience. ALL of the staff is friendly, but DQ ESPECIALLY! He could teach customer service, and he could teach others how to bag your purchases, I joke that he is a specialist at it! So, stop in and give a shout out to DQ because he is wonderful! Maybe a bit shy at first!! The store has been more organized, very great on their stock. I am very impressed with the changes and I now enjoy shopping there for the first time ever. I could see DQ becoming a manager some day, I would have been proud to have worked beside him in a management position any day. Very hard worker! So thank you DQ and all the staff members for making my stops pleasant, I no longer avoid this store. “I just this location and a beautiful young lady Mya was working both registers BY HERSELF! She went back and forth between registers ringing out customers during a rush. It was at least 20 people in line and Mya navigated it all so effortlessly. She also remained polite through each interaction. I had several items and she even bagged them properly, in a timely manner. I shop at different Dollar General locations all the time and this was the most efficient and pleasant experience I have ever had. If Mya is not in management, she NEEDS to be and she DESERVES a raise and a bonus asap! Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
