“Huge shout out for these guys!
Corinne and I decided to donate our company crew camper to the hurricane Helene victims In western North Carolina, I left on Nov 5 and headed to Ashville where I had made a connection with Andy and Sampson two outstanding guys doing there part to help. While there we learned of another camper that was being donated In Red Creek NY. They had no way to deliver it so I volunteered to go get it, when I got to the Buffalo NY area My transfer case blew up at 11:00 PM and I was towed to Continental. early the next morning they got it into the shop to do the estimate and was told if they could round up the parts they could maybe get it done by Monday afternoon. I explained to them the mission I was on and gave them the ok to get it done and that's exactly what they did, I called the next morning to see if they found the parts, they said they have a guy waiting for a fedex guy to get the last part. I told them great I need to to tell the hotel how long i needed the room for and they told me don't book another night our guys said they would have me back on the road later that day. they brought in extra help and stayed beyond closing time. What a amazing group of guys thank you so much!!!”

This requires lots of phone calls, patience and wait times to speak with Representatives. The job was taken care of at a fair cost, with very clear transparency of the work that needed to be done and pre-approval. I would highly recommend this shop.”

“Initially, I called Just Tow it to tow my car. I called them to schedule a town 9 days ahead. After they blew the arrival time by 30 minutes, I called, and the operator said the driver was on his way. The driver arrived one hour and 15 minutes late after the company stopped answering their phone. I called Dadswell's and they came immediately. My driver was friendly, helpful, and gave me advice on how to tell if a mechanic (where I was headed) is over-charging you. Dadswell's is now my go-to towing service and I will start going there for auto/body work as well. Awesome experience! And shocker -- they answer their phones!”

“This auto shop is, sadly, a rarity in today’s day and age: a straightforward, honest business that performs quality work. They’re right up the street for me, which is a godsend whenever I need work done. My only qualm is that they’re always booked, sometimes weeks out. Still, the aforementioned is indicative of the great work they do and the consistently high demand they enjoy; definitely a first world problem. I just hope that labor shortages don’t affect their otherwise stellar service over the long run. Highly recommended.Services: Tire rotations”
“Originally, I was given Gerry's service as a recommendation from the Rochester British Car Club. After contacting them, Bruce, the main service assistant, gave me a rough estimate of the process and timing for solving an inoperable engine issue. They're a very busy shop so it took longer to get in than I had planned, but they were able to schedule the initial checkup within three weeks. After the checkup, which took a day, they identified the carbs as the root cause and wanted to rebuild them. The estimate for that work was way more than I was hoping for, but I understood the work involved and the hourly rate and it made sense to have them do the work, it's why I was there in the first place.
After they performed the rebuild, the engine now runs like it supposed to, which was such a relief, as I had spent many hours trying to determine the issue myself, to no avail.
Would I recommend Gerry's to others? Yes I would, but as with any quality service these days, the time and hours are going to add up to a significant amount, but was exactly what he estimated. Thanks guys!
Ps... the only reason I gave them 4-stars was the long timeline and the fact that they didn't keep my car as well protected from the weather as I had expected (although in fairness, I'm not totally sure what they did, but it had leaves and debris in it- Roadster no top)”
“Tony at Scruggs on Main in Amherst saved me when my wipers stopped working during a torrential downpour ! For some reason my wipers froze and I couldn't see a thing after leaving the vet next door. I pulled across the lot and asked if they could help. He stood in the pouring rain and did everything he could to figure out what was wrong on my new car. He got me Rainex for the windshield after he loosened them up enough to finally get them working, to make sure I could still see while taking the car in for a warranty repair. And filled up my reservoir as well. Absolutely excellent customer service that's so hard to find anywhere anymore. I will definitely take my car the them for everything it needs and truly recommend them.”

“Twas the day before the first snowstorm & we all packed Fox Tire for tires on our vehicles when along comes shop manager calling us by name & vehicle name. The mechanics took no breaks & knocked out work order after work order so we could get back to work or home. Called Matt, there was a grinding sound coming from under the front end of the car.Matt had us bring it in immediately.
After he drove the car and heard the noise he checked the front breaks. There was a rock that got caught between the rotor and break pad. If Matt didn’t pay such close attention to the noise it might have taken him a lot longer to discover the hidden rock.
Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and timely, plus great pricing. My car is running with no noise. I will definitely take my car back if I experience any other problems!”

“I was driving to work when something seemed to fall off from under my car and was dragging on the ground. I pulled off into a parking lot and tried calling a few mechanics that were in the area. Five Star was the only one who picked up and told me to come right in. Ron introduced himself to me and took the time to show me what was going on underneath my car. Luckily it was an easy fix that took about 5 minutes (heat shield kept rusting out and falling, needed to be removed) and Ron did not charge me for it since we decided not to replace the part and it was a quick fix. I was very thankful for the fast service and thorough explanation, and needless to say, Five Star Automotive made what could have been a stressful morning into a very easy one!”
