“Never in my life would I think I’d leave a hardware review but here I am! My husband needed a brass cleaner on a Saturday afternoon around the time most hardware stores are closed. We found this one was still opened and called to make sure it actually was since we had just tried going over to another one that was supposed to be open according to Google and it wasn’t. To avoid another pointless trip I called this one before we headed there and a lovely gentleman by the name of Jose answered and literally gave us the best customer service experience that is hard to come by these days! He said they had the cleaner in stock and asked if we’d like for him to have it ready for us at the counter which we happily agreed to. He called us back a minute later to let us know that it was actually out of stock and that to please excuse him. Like, what?! So nice of him to do! Thank you Jose!”

“Try this at Home Depot: I went over to Rockland county, New York, to help an 86 year old lady friend install a new mailbox. It sounds easier than it is, as hers was attached to 2 metal pipes, sitting in between other mailboxes. Rusty bolts and all that. Just getting the ancient one off was a task. After planning and measuring, we went to a neighborhood hardware store and bought a mailbox, but it turned out that they did not sell the wood we needed for the base. So we went to Beckerle in Congers. The man behind the counter treated my friend so kindly. He went to the back and found an old scrap piece of wood that fit under the mailbox. Plus, he helped me source the big screws and washers. He spent good long time with us to assure that we had what we needed, patiently and extraordinarily helpful. All that for $1.98. It was good old-fashioned service with a smile. I was impressed that there are still stores like this where customer service is top level, even if the actual profit is virtually zero. This place is the best of the best. Shop there!”

“It was right before closing time 5/28/24 and I had gotten a work order from a client (a very high end one at that) and needed a specific paint for a job early the next morning on Thursday. I called to see if they had what I needed and they did, I rushed over and the salesperson (forgot his name ??♂️) greeted me, quickly but patiently helped me and resolved an issue I was having on exactly which paint match I needed. Just a satisfying experience to be able to deal with a business that cares and is prepared to help. Highly recommended and the quality of product and service is very high! He will look at your sample and in seconds whip out these color books and select perfect matches. There are literally thousands of nuanced shades of every color, barely discernible to you or me, but he knows each one of them like their his child. Go to eagle paint. Ask for Rob (call in advance, don't go in the AM when contractors go). The man is a genius.”

“I have been shopping at KRB for years at this location, and the prior location. It is a local family business and It pretty much has all of the things you could have purchased at Brewers before they shut down.
I fully understand why all the contractors love this place - it has most of what you need, the prices beat the big box stores, you can get in and out quickly and the store is very well organized.
If you are doing any kind of repair to your home, they likely have what you need. For any kind of painting project, they pretty much have everything you would find in a paint store, but cheaper They also have every cleaning supply you can imagine, including the commercial stuff.
The staff has always been friendly and helpful with advice when I need it.”
