They announced as we entered the office that everyone without a reservation older than 24 hours would not get a car, we had a reservation for weeks but when we got to the counter after 40 minute wait and after they checked license and cc info they announced that they have no cars and we would need to Wait indefinitely for a car. They simply fooled us. I walked out and rented elsewhere. This is not the first time with Hertz jfk. I will do my best not to rent from that location in the near future

PlatePass is a scam. Don't use the EZpass transponder in the car unless you want to be charged $40/day, even on days you don't use it or accrue tolls. Hertz conveniently didn't communicate this program anywhere in their rental terms and refused to refund.

This place is a scam... Why would you offer a rental car without the charger... Isn't that the point, to charge them... they said they don't keep them in because they get stolen.... can't you just charge the person who stole it? You have their credit card on file... what would you do if they stole the car, just let that go to!? And then the car they gave me was filthy and smelt like a lit cigarette. Do not recommend.

Friendly people. Good customer service. There’s a shuttle bus and the driver is very nice as well. Everything was easy and fast. Process here works good.

I want to thank the lovely Bernie for being such a cheerful and helpful representative.The shuttle came quickly when I exited airport, the driver was so nice and professional. Unlike LGA Avis shuttle drivers who drive 90 mph over bumps *after* having you wait for almost 40+ minutes.This location is very clean and organized also. They have a massive fleet and helpful lot personnel also.

I've been patronizing this location for years, and there at least once a month. I have rarely had an issue with the vehicles. However, they can run out of vehicles quickly (and no one wants the electric cars and for good reason). If you're getting off the shuttle, go pick a car and take the key, then go to the desk if you're not a Gold member. Otherwise, they generally make things smooth to pick up and return cars. Most of the staff are pleasant, especially Errol and the other woman with red natural hair at the front desk are soooo nice and helpful.

Maybe I just caught them at a good time (and no one posts 'it was fine' rental car reviews) based on the other reviews, but renting from this location was perfectly fine. Granted I rented at 6 pm on a Friday, which isn't exactly peak time, but I showed at 6:40 pm with two people in line and one person working the counter. I probably waited ~4 minutes for my turn, the lady on the counter was efficient and I had my keys in another 3-4 minutes. ~3500mi Ford Edge AWD which was exactly what I needed for my use case. Return I just pulled in, parked, and on my way. I'm local, so I cannot comment on the shuttle.

I rented a car for three days for $386, and a few days later I was charged over $500, with no explanation, and the phone line never got through! This is a rubbish company, not worth it

Horrible customer service. Flew into LaGuadia at 11:30 pm and was supposed to be able to walk straight to my car. My assigned part of the lot had no cars. Had to go inside where a long line awaited with an understated counter. Have now been in line an hour, 1 am and the line has not moved. I feel terrible for the person working the counter. Their company set them up for failure.

The thing I love about Hertz is that what it says online is the price it’s going to be when you get there unlike some other rental car agencies nothing is hidden all the fees are there for you to see any questions they’re there to answer it.

It’s been almost 2 hours of staying in line. They have only 2 employees. Another one came only to give the change to the other one. So more than 25 customers in line, and 2 employees. Really disappointing

There were only two people working the desk on a Saturday afternoon. The line is wrapped around the building. This is clearly the result of poor staffing.

I was quite worried when I read the reviews after I reserved a car with them. My personal experience went really well. They had 2 people working the counter and it looked like they were moving pretty fast. The car I got was nice and clean. I would definitely rent from here again.

I’ve been renting year multiple times in the past couple of weeks as I found myself without a car. I love the day offer for multiple Evie, but I have to say most of them are Bolts, not the most luxurious drive.Even if the price is usually, OK, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place. Not that it is different from any other or I found much better alternatives... It’s always hard to speak to a manager if you need and be prepared to spend a lot of time even late in the evening because the counter has always only one person no matter how long the line gets.
