I took my dog to the emergency vet because she wasn’t eating. They tried running expensive tests which I couldn’t afford. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her without running the tests apparently. It was really stressful they couldn’t give me an idea of what might be wrong with her. I brought my dog to this office and the doctor immediately knew that she had an upset stomach so that’s why she wasn’t eating. She received an anti nausea shot and within an hour or two she was back to being herself. I’m really glad I found this veterinarian, the doctors are very experienced here. The front desk staff were also super friendly and caring! I’m forever grateful!!”

“Last Friday I brought my almost 2-year-old orange short-haired cat, Taffy, to Mid Island Animal Hospital just for a nail trim. The team took him right away and brought him back out to me. However, as I went to secure his carrier in the car and walked to the driver's side, my car locked me out—trapping my phone, bag, and key fob inside. It was the most terrifying moment of my life.

The immediate rescue efforts from the staff were nothing short of heroic. Almost the entire team came outside to help. They placed blankets and towels all over the car to block the sun and keep Taffy cool. One of the staff members immediately called the fire department to see how fast they could arrive, and even generously offered to personally drive me to my house and back to get a spare key if my family couldn't get there fast enough. Because I live 20 minutes away, we realized a round trip would take too long for Taffy to wait.

When they asked if I had AAA, and learned my phone was locked inside, the amazing front desk receptionists immediately looked up the toll-free number on their own phones. They called and passionately advocated for Taffy, firmly explaining to AAA that a pet's life was in danger so they would prioritize the call over their initial 1-hour wait time. Another staff member even ran down to a nearby mechanic to see if they could help, and assured me they had a glass-shattering tool we could carefully use as a last resort if help didn't arrive fast enough.

The compassion didn't stop once the car was opened. The staff surrounded us with support. Once AAA unlocked the door, Dr. Wieman and the veterinary team immediately took Taffy into the back to give him a full physical evaluation to ensure he was perfectly okay to go home—completely free of charge.

To top it all off, Dr. Wieman personally called me later that evening right before closing, just to check on how Taffy was feeling. When I told her he was doing great, she was so genuinely relieved and even let me know she would be there Saturday morning if I noticed any changes and needed to bring him back in.

This traumatic experience proved that Mid Island Animal Hospital doesn't just do a job; they operate with pure love, selflessness, and unmatched empathy as a whole team. They are our heroes, and they have earned my loyalty forever!”

I cannot recommend Dr. Penyy at The Cat Doctor highly enough! My 16-year-old Chinchilla Persian, Apple, recently had surgery, and the care we received was absolutely world-class.

What truly sets Dr. Penyy apart is her incredible heart and selflessness. I’ve seen her kneeling on the floor for a long time just to carefully remove Apple’s sutures one by one, showing zero ego. She once even accidentally bumped her head because she was focusing so intensely on examining him, yet her only concern was making sure we weren’t worried! She genuinely puts the well-being of the cats above everything else.

Despite her busy schedule, she is always responsive—answering questions late at night or on weekends with professional guidance. She remembers every detail of Apple’s health stats, which gives me so much peace of mind.

As an artist, Apple is my muse, and I picked up watercolor specifically to capture the beauty of cats. I was so moved by Dr. Penyy’s dedication that I painted a miniature watercolor of her caring for Apple. When I gave it to her, she was so surprised and called it 'so artistic'—her reaction meant the world to me.

“We find it quite challenging to adequately describe how grateful we are that Dr. Kleminger and staff, in particular Vet Tech Sydney took care of our geriatric cat Cassius. Cassius was two months old when he first saw Dr. Kleminger and he lived to the ripe old age of 19 largely in part to the exceptional care, guidance and love we received at Companions. Cassius was a strong, fighter who endured, multiple medical emergencies where we thought he might die. All through these crisis Dr. Kleminger and Sydney were there for us. We had to administer fluids and medications at home which Sydney came to our house to teach us every week for months until we learned to do it ourselves. Cassius hated the carrier, and going to the vet, however, he immediately calmed down when Dr. Kleminger would pet him and talk to him. He would fall right asleep when Sydney would hold him on his back like a baby. It was absolutely magical. We love all of the staff at Companions. The front desk staff are loving and compassionate. “I recently took my cat to Animal General of East Norwich after a really stressful experience at another vet, where I was immediately told she needed surgery. They also took my cat into the back, and I sat there for six hours without seeing her once, which made the whole situation even more stressful. “My almost 14 year old fur baby was taken to the ER over the weekend after going into congestive heart failure. I was told that he needed an EKG, but unfortunately, there wasn’t a cardiologist on call, and they would have to see who might be available to come in.

I knew that once he was released, I wanted to take him to Gold Coast Veterinary. While my dog was still in the ER, I emailed Dr. Blass, the cardiologist at Gold Coast, on Sunday. There is normally a months long wait to get an appointment with him, but after I explained what was happening, he immediately told me he would fit us in the very next day.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Blass for making time for my fur baby when we needed him most. He is an incredibly wonderful,
compassionate, and caring doctor, and his kindness during such a frightening and emotional time meant more to me than I can say. I am truly so thankful for him.”
