“To front desk receptionists: Your primary responsibility is to remain at the front—not to wait until someone tracks you down like you’ve gone missing in the back office. Speak clearly and be attentive at all times. And please, do not leave your position until the current conversation or interaction is completely finished. I'm not done yet.”
“First off, breakfast is not included, especially if you pay with a discount like AAA. It's about an extra 15 a person a day and they told us we could have bought breakfast vouchers when booking but no option popped up for us since we used a discount. Might be cheaper to not use discounts if that's the case. Breakfast was a wide variety, especially if you upgraded to the hot foods option. In general it was a better breakfast than most and we appreciated the variety of fruits. Downsides were milk 2 days past best by date that we didn't realize until we drank it, and cream filled pastries still half frozen.
Beds were very comfortable though smelled like bleach, which isn't necessarily a completely bad thing.
The pool was nice and warm and visible from half the rooms with the inner courtyard. Rooms were not very soundproof and people coming in from an event did wake us up talking in the hallways.
Bathroom lotions and soaps smelled great but the toilet paper made a shreddy mess and could be upgraded. Ventilation in the bathroom was poor and it took awhile for steam to clear from the mirror after a shower, but the water was nice and hot. Decent hotel, just wish breakfast was clearer when booking.”

“We had a good stay at Candlewood Suites East Syracuse. First and foremost, staff are friendly and courteous always greeting you with a smile. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the kitchenette is functional. During our stay, the coffee machine in the lobby was always fully supplied.
When booking, the below 4 star rating made me hesitate a bit, but it being member of IHG, its convenient location and onsite ev charging convinced me, and we are glad we stayed here.
For those of you who are concerned about room condition/cleanness, I have attached a few photos for you to judge.”

“I’ve stayed in this Embassy probably 60+ times over the past decade or so. I highly recommend this hotel. The only thing I would suggest if you are staying here is to try to get your room on the other side of the highway. It’s not a dealbreaker near the highway, you can just definitely hear some road noise.”
“It deserves a 5 in every category based on the price. The suites offer COMFORTABLE beds with more than adequate climate controls. This place is CLEAN. The staff at the desk is attentive and the key cards hold their charge. Housekeeping is very pleasant. Microwave/fridge/shower/tv/desk/lighting is all NICE. Breakfast on the house.
D*** GOOD COFFEE in the lobby 24/7 and they make sure its filled because they actually care here. Pretty incredible they are able profit and provide the service they do at the rate they charge. Bravo!!
COMFORTABLE, CLEAN, NICE, D*** GOOD COFFEE. 5 STARS.”

“Best Motel 6/Studio 6 hotel on the I-81 corridor from WV through upstate NY. My room was clean, enough towels and soaps and working microwave and fridge, 3 pillows on a comfortable king bed. There were grassy areas around the entire hotel for me to walk my dogs completely around the hotel. They even had a poop plastic bag dispenser. Check-in was easy. Coffee in the morning. I have stayed in Wilkes Barr, Drums, McGraw, Binghamton and they all had issues. Studio 6 in E Syracuse is better and cheaper. The only gotcha is that is about 8-minutes off the 81 freeway and Google Maps has not correctly renumbered the exits to match I-90, so it is less visible. Also, on the way back (going north) there is a Circle K cheap gas station and convenience store. I usually stay at Motel 6 and Studio 6 locations because they are dog-friendly although not upscale. Studio 6 in E Syracuse is not fancy and not perfect but a great option, especially for dog lovers. Finally - unlike almost every cheap hotel in the northeast, Studio 6 did not reek of marijuana - perhaps the clientele is less seedy or the manager is more attentive? In any case I was happy not to be surrounded by pot-smokers.”
“This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is convenient to the interstate, clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was traditional and well cared for. No complaints.”
