“This review has been a long time coming as I have been a tenant with Pleasant Creek Meadows for over 4 years.
Highlights about living at PCM:
* If you’re active duty or work on Fort Drum, it’s less than 5 minutes to Main Gate or Gas Alley Gate.
* If you’re active duty and receive BAH, you will more than likely pocket BAH. The monthly rent is super affordable.
We lived here and never didn’t pocket BAH.
* The maintenance guys, Jordan and Kevin, are amazing at what they do and super responsive and easy to work with.
If you have any issues while living in the apartment, let them know! They WILL work with you if you’re upfront and honest. They’re amazing at their work and super friendly too.
* Jules, the property manager, is super kind and also easy to work with. She’s very flexible if you need something or have questions about your unit!
If you’re fortunate to get my unit, we installed fans, sink faucets, a mirror, a few more modern light fixtures, and painted the kitchen cabinets, all of which Jules approved! That being said, she’s super flexible if you want to upgrade your unit in anyway, just run it by her first.
* Move in and move out was a breeze. We initially lived in a 2 bedroom and then upgraded to 3 bedrooms. Both times were seamless - just don’t be a slob and you won’t have problems (more on this below)
Move in is self explanatory. Carpets are cleaned by previous tenant, unit is cleaned, etc.
There’s a sour review regarding mold and mice and I want to touch on that here: if you see “mold” - I promise it’s mildew and can be easily cleaned with MoldArmour. This area is going to have that anywhere you go because of how much rain, snow, and overall humidity there is. Regarding mice, welcome to Fort Drum. Field mice are extremely common here. They like to come in through warm places once it starts getting cold. This is common ANYWHERE around this area. Keep your doors closed and check your home for possible entry ways, as you should with ANY home you live in. We never had any issues.
For move out: you’ll be responsible to essentially clean the entire place, replace any blinds that may have broke, burner covers, and light bulbs if they’re burnt out. All easy things you can do in less than a few hours. If you have to replace blinds (like we did) let maintenance know and they’ll likely tell you to just place the blinds by the window (aka you likely don’t need to install them). They want to make it easy for you too. And yes, we got our deposit back.
Regarding carpets: I noted this above but be HONEST about possible carpet stains. They’d rather help you with a solution vs. charging you because you were not communicative. They will lift the carpets to check for stains from pets. Just don’t be a slob. We had no issues with both move outs and we had a pet in our first unit.
Think of it like this: would you want to move into a unit with deep pet stains? No. Exactly.
* The overall experience of living here was a solid 10/10, and although we have now moved, I will recommend Pleasant Creek Meadows to anyone and everyone!
We will miss our home here. This was the first neighborhood we lived in in the Fort Drum area. It was a great experience. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, and in a very convenient location for military. The units are very spacious and well taken care of.
Whoever gets my unit next (black and white cabinets) just know it was loved & well taken care of, and I hope you love it as much as me and my family did.
Thank you so much to Jules, Kevin, and Jordan for making our experience at Pleasant Creek Meadows forever memorable. Cheers!”
“I had a great experience with the maintenance team at Eagle Ridge. I submitted a work order for a broken light fixture in the morning, and later that same afternoon, Nick and Brandon arrived to fix it. They were incredibly polite, professional, and resolved the issue in no time. The speed and quality of their work show how much the maintenance crew cares about the residents.”
