“Being from out in Suffolk county and working in Richmond Hill, I found this butcher shop a year ago while on a lunch break. The staff is very helpful and friendly. To the point of preparing meats and even seasoned up some fresh ground beef for burgers. It is always a pleasure to walk in and talk with the owner and son who are always there to help. I recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood.”
“I've been going to Kollner's for a few years now. I tried them out on a whim when my old butcher let me down a few times. Super glad I did. I've been consistently impressed with the quality of the meats. The meat is always fresh, and you can have it cut to order.
When I need steaks for my family, we each have different tastes in steak. I can get a thicker steak for myself and my son, and then order a thinner cut steak for my wife. Everybody is happy. The steaks are fresh, juicy, well-marbled and delicious. The guys helping me are always happy to cut the meat exactly as I ask for it.
On occasion, we'll get some St. Louis ribs, they are meaty, and the end results is super tender—fall off the bone good. All-around great quality.
When, i've needed chicken, they'll fabricate a whole chicken right there in front of me. Or if I've needed thin cut breast, again, they slice it up right there in front of me.
Beef, pork, chicken, lamb—I've never gone wrong with any product at Kollner's.
The guys behind the counter have always been helpful with suggestions for how much to order or answering questions about the meat.
The prices are really fair, especially considering the quality of the products. I am happy to support this local, family-owned business and highly recommend them.”
“Great assortment of meats and cheese. They also have a dry aged steak selection that's cut to your specifications, however, the butcher leaves at 5pm. I asked the deli department and they said that I could call it in and have the steaks cut and waiting for me before closing.”

I would avoid the specials. My sandwich was $16 but since I was full after one half I think the price is good. I will definitely come back when I can!”

They don't cook with a lot of salt because the kosher community they are serving is mostly older. This guy is a Huge fan of not adding too much salt. Basically every kosher takeout place known to man adds so much salt.”

“I have celiac disease and brought my own bread because I also have a wheat allergy and they made my sandwich for me with the bread I brought them :)) they took it no problem and made me two great sandwich’s for under 15$. They are super sweet. And extremely reasonable will definitely come again and recommend to people with food sensitivities or allergies. They are also are extremely heavy handed with the cold cuts. Gave me roughly 1/4 lb or a little more combined on both the sandwiches total. Super delicious.”

It's become our go to place to shop when we need large amounts of various fresh meat for our barbeques or family get togethers.
Service is usually pretty quick and accommodating. Checkout is usually pretty quick too. We travel from Queens but it's worth the time, travel and distance as we get more bang for our buck and delicious meats for our efforts!! Highly recommend!!!”

“I've been a customer here for years, it's embarrassing it took me this long to write a review.... But the Meat here is by far the best in rockaway! It is a little on the pricey side BUT! You absolutely get what you pay for and worth every penny!! Fresh, quality meat. From Steak, to chicken, sausage,Sausage Spirals and patties, Sirloin burger patties are incredible! I've never had a bad peice of meat from here! If your in rockaway I would highly recommend Curran's!”

“I live up the block and decided to stop in and see what they have. Upon entering, I noticed they made lamb over rice as well as Gyros, and decided to try the lamb gyro. When I got home, I noticed it was exactly like the ones you can buy at the halal carts! I was extremely pleased with it and due to the hot weather, I will definitely be coming again. Next time, I will be ordering the lamb over rice. I highly recommend this restaurant!”

“Cherry Valley is expensive, however, it's the only supermarket in the neighborhood that is walkable, unless you walk down to Golden Farms which is also another good one. If you want a hot Dominican breakfast or lunch, this is a great option. However, beware of expiration dates. They always have sales, which is awesome, and are always stocked and the place is super clean. Just be careful with what you are buying. I bought cereal on sale and the cereal was stale do to the bag being punctured. The staff here is great and always greeting you!”
