Best aviation experience ever! Our tour guide was awesome and I felt the passion he had for aviation. I learned about Grumman and the role that women played during WW2 was an eye opener and this is not taught in school, of which it should be! An experience I will never forget, as an aviation enthusiast it was a dream come true.

If you like museums, an aviation or military buff, or just intrigue about some Long Island history and would like to learn more, a visit to the American Airpower Museum will be a delight and not disappoint.Located at Farmingdale, Long Island, American Airpower Museum offers many aircraft on display, and most are operational. They offer many events that showcase the history and display the amazing aircraft they have on hand. The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday and is manned by knowledgeable volunteers that provide so many details and facts regarding the museum and its exhibits. We have been here many times and have learned new things every time. To the volunteers and our veterans, we thank you for your service.

Truly amazing museum with functional planes that actually fly in the local air show. The volunteer tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. My son and I learned a lot of interesting facts plus we got to see AND sit in a Douglas C47 that my dad probably flew in as a paratrooper with the 82nd in WWII.Great experience. Thank you!

I treated myself to a 65th birthday / two years of remission gift, a ride on the AT-6. Pilot Steve and the whole staff were very knowledgeable, and kind. It was a glorious late October Saturday and I enjoyed every second of the flight over the Great South Bay and Fire Island. Steve let me take control of the stick for a few minutes, something I never thought I would get the chance to do. Life is short, eat the cake, buy the shoes and take a ride on the T-6 !!!!

The pleasure was in three parts. The conversations, stories and warmth of the volunteers before the flight were welcomed and interesting. The flight in this vintage plane over Long Island was long over due and memorable. Thanks, Dave. The after-flight experience was the museum, a class collection of aviation material. Treat yourself. Go. Donate.

Highly recommend visiting the museum and taking a ride one of their planes. From the moment you walk in until you leave you are treated very well by the knowledgeable volunteers. One of very few the museum sits in an original air hanger with planes built there years ago. So much history to learn, clean and worth any cent you pay!!! An experience you can't get anywhere else!! Drove 7 hours to ride the AT-6 Texan World War ll plane and it was more than worth it!!!

One of the most unique and interesting Air Force museum I visited. It’s located right next to an airport as EVERY plane exhibited can fly. Staffs are passionate and are very willing to tell you all about it.You are allowed to get hands on some older generations of aircrafts and turrets. Many libraries provide free entrance for this museum.

I have always passed this museum but never went in. Today I finally went to the museum. It was such an amazing experience. From the moment I stepped into the place all the tour guides were so welcoming and informative. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and I learned so much. There are many planes that are on display that still fly today!

I was visiting family, and we wanted to so something together, and we found this nearby. When we arivide, we were politely greeted. The price of admission is very fair, and there are discounts available for military and first responders I believe. We went in, randomly looking around as a family, until we rain into a gentleman named David. He was a wealth of knowledge, and an absolute pleasure. He had us all captivated, and even got my 8 year old son interested. You could really feel the history and pride in that place. Everything is well maintained, and is set up in a way that flows. If you ever get the opportunity, please pay this museum a visit.
