The employees here absolutely AWESOME. The store manager "Nick" is the BEST. Came from another hardware store very frustrated. Told the workers what I need. And they immediately got everything I needed & Helped me with installation. The Epitome of Customer Service!Thank you so much fellas. ????

Before you purchase in store or online, check out HD or other Ace stores, like Port Washington. This store charges more for a lot of items. As it’s privately owned. If you go online, change the location to Port Washington or a store that isn’t Costello’s, and the price will drop. Terrible business model.

Dont bring ANY screens for windows or doors to this place..taking forever to fix. They took my money right away..thou!!!! They keep saying they are behind on fixing screens..

Contrary to their ads, this store is not the helpful Hardware place. The Garden City Park location has a bunch of nasty and unhelpful and unknowledgeable employees including the manager.Came here for an item that the Ace Hardware website said was in stock at this store and couldn't find it. No associate was around so I walked around the store and asked a confused looking associate if he could help me. He gave me the brush off like he didn't even work there and then while clearly still annoyed he asked what I wanted. I told him and he didn't go to look for the item or even check the inventory on the computer. He told me to show him the item in the sales circular. I said it wasn't on sale so it wouldn't be in the circular. Finally he says something into his mouthpiece and says his manager says they don't have it and walks away. If this was really a helpful place he would see if there was another item that might suit my purpose.So I went to the cashier who didn't have any customers and asked if she could check the inventory on the computer. The manager overheard this and presumably was the guy who said it wasn't in stock and he repeated that it wasn't in stock. I said I would just like to make sure since it was listed in stock at this store on the website. This manager seems to have a chip on his shoulder that I have noticed in my infrequent trips to this location over the years. He said don't rely on the website, call the store and he said it in a tone like "you're an idiot for looking at the website". Why does this store employ a manager who seems to want to start a fight rather than assist a customer? Why does a manager discourage using their website rather than encouraging it? At no time did any employee at this store offer to check the shelf or check their inventory. They had a lot of similar products in the store so I doubt they knew for a fact in their head that the exact product I was looking for was out of stock.The manager seems like the type who doesn't know much about his own store so he views any question as a challenge and gets defensive as if he is looking for a fight. I ask a question about an item and your manager gives me an attitude. What the heck is going on at this location?

This has to be the worst hardware store I have been too. It's too bad I live in the neighborhood and would like to support this store. But every single time I go there the shelves are empty it is very expensive and the quality of their products do not last. Every single product I have purchased needed to be replace after a year and the plumbing department is non existence the shelves are always empty do they ever restock? You ask for help and end up helping the employee because they have no clue where anything is maybe that is why the shelves are always empty. Go to any other hardware store but here sad to say but ACE will never have what you need and if they do you will pay for it and when a year comes around will have to replace that item again.

I'm tire of receiving "exclusive" mailers advertising sales and discounts for items that are NOT IN STOCK AT ACE COSTELLO IN GARDEN CITY PARK. Why are you wasting my time advertising items when you don't bother carrying the products?? Most recent example: Ace 40 lb. Wild Bird Food for $20. "Red Hot Buy." Drive down to the store and it's nowhere to be found. but hey, they will see you two 20 lb. bags for $26. Bait and switch. Screw that. I'm done.

I bought my medium Big Green Egg here years ago, and have been shopping here just about Bi-weekly for all the BGE accessories. Spices, rubs, BBQ equipment, charcoal. They got it all. The BGE Charcoal is hard to come by, but when it’s here I get a few bags. That’s really the only section i go to and I love it. Employees are great, store is clean. Prices are decent, obviously I’d like to pay less but in this day the prices go up, the size goes down. I also respect that they were closed thanksgiving. People shouldn’t work they should be home!

I shop here all the time and I was there around 8:30 on November 16th, asking the employee by the keys if he could help me with locks. He was really rude and said go look myself I have 5 other people to help. No other customers were around him and If there were 5 people in the store at that time, that would be a lot and I'm sure not everyone was there for keys and locks. He needs some anger management and customer service training.
