Just back from this lovely lodge. Great setting, welcoming people, great room, awesome breakfast…
We actually had a very poor night as people had a party in the room nextdoor (I asked them at 1 am to tone down but they sent me away…). I didn’t dress up and ask the hotel to do something but I wish the person on the frontdesk would keep an eye on this passed a certain time. Can’t blame the hotel though. Disrespectful people are the problem.
I’ll come back for sure 🙌.
Edited:
I came back for 2 night in August 25. Still an awesome place but I confirm there’s an acoustic problem. We could hear all the noise from the surrounding rooms. We were lucky nobody was much talking or watching a movie till late but we could hear everything, steps etc… take your earplugs.

I recently stayed at Minnewaska Lodge to surprise my husband for his birthday, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was warm and genuine — Maggie, Kristan, and Matt truly went above and beyond to make our stay special.
To our delight, we were given a beautiful room upgrade with stunning views, which instantly made the getaway feel even more memorable. I had arranged for a cake to surprise my husband, and to my amazement, the team didn’t even charge for it — such a kind and thoughtful gesture that made the celebration unforgettable.
The lodge itself is cozy, peaceful, and perfectly situated near nature, creating the ideal mix of comfort and adventure. Every detail felt carefully taken care of, and the personalized attention from Maggie, Kristan, and Matt made us feel so welcomed.
If you’re looking for a place that combines charm, relaxation, and exceptional hospitality, I can’t recommend Minnewaska Lodge enough. Our stay created memories we’ll treasure forever!

Nestled at the majestic foot of the Gunks, Minnewaska Lodge in Gardiner, NY, offers an absolutely beautiful and unforgettable stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the lodge's charming rustic elegance and the evident pride taken in its upkeep.
Maggie and Matt at Minnewaska Lodge are true hospitality specialists and top-notch. Every interaction was met with warmth and efficiency, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well-cared for throughout our visit. Our room was not only charming but also spotlessly clean, a testament to the lodge's high standards.
One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the breakfast. It was truly tremendous and went above and beyond our expectations. The spread was generous, featuring an array of fresh fruit, cereals, and hot options. The freshly made pastries were a particular standout, adding a delightful touch of indulgence to our mornings.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Minnewaska Lodge is ideally situated. We loved having a hiking trail right on-site, offering immediate access to the stunning natural beauty of the area. Practical amenities like plenty of parking also made our stay completely hassle-free.
Beyond the comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast, the lodge provides wonderful communal spaces. The outdoor seating areas and inviting fire pits offer perfect spots to relax, socialize, and soak in the serene surroundings after a day of exploration.
Minnewaska Lodge is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, comfort, and exceptional hospitality. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing escape in the Gardiner, NY area.

Our wedding weekend stay at Minnewaska Lodge was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to Maggie, who went above and beyond to make everything feel as relaxing and heartfelt as possible.
From the moment we arrived, Maggie made sure we felt welcomed—with thoughtful touches like complimentary champagne and gift bags—and continued to check in throughout our stay to ensure we were completely comfortable. Her genuine care and attention to detail made us feel so special during such an important weekend in our lives.
The location itself is stunning, with incredible views of the Gunks that are hard to beat. But what truly makes Minnewaska Lodge stand out is Maggie. While she may be newer to the team, it’s already clear that she’s going to bring the lodge back to its former glory—and then some.
If you’re considering a stay here, I can wholeheartedly recommend it, especially knowing that it’s in such good hands. Thank you, Maggie, for everything! Our wedding weekend wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Can't explain in words what a great experience we had at the Minnewaska Lodge. Staff were friendly, respectful and extremely accommodating. Rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Plenty of stuff to do on the property with the hiking trails and ample space to relax in your own space. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options for people with any dietary restrictions. We traveled with our dog Darcy and they were extremely pet friendly. Waste bags were available and staff were quick to provide treats as soon as we walked in making our dog feel as welcomed as we did upon arrival. Can't wait to return and spend another weekend up at the Lodge.

Great spot between Mohonk and Minnewaska. Rooms need upgrading but common areas and backyard are very nice. Carpets in hall had a musky odor, could be the dogs.

I had a great experience at Minnewaska Lodge.
I was supposed to stay at a different hotel in the area, but that quickly turned into a disaster. We made a last minute effort to find a new place, and Minnewaska lodge just happened to have what we were looking for.
I was helped by the front desk attendant, Matt. He was fantastic. I made it very clear to him that we needed 3 rooms within the next 20 minutes, and he assured us we would be getting 3 rooms by then.
As soon as we arrived, it was very obvious this was going to be a good stay. The area is stunning. The lodge is very well put together and the atmosphere is very relaxing. It is also pet friendly.
The staff is absolutely incredible. They're nice, welcoming, and go above and beyond to help you.
I've seen a couple of negative 1 star reviews. I actually agree with some of the criticism, but in no way do they warrant a 1 star review. Here's some of the things I noticed in regards to those reviews.
The rooms are gorgeous. Very well put together, but the walls do feel pretty thin. You can hear very loud foot steps in the hallway, but it wasn't a big deal to me. Everyone staying in the lodge was very respectful of that. Especially at night.
There's 24/7 coffee and tea, and propane fire pits in the backyard. The breakfast wasn't the best breakfast i ever had, but it certainly wasn't the worst either. I've paid over 500 dollars for rooms in other places and got a horrendously bad breakfast. Some things were a hit or miss, but generally I thought it was good.
We stayed on mothers day weekend. The bugs in the backyard were crazy, but there's nothing the lodge can do about this. It's just the way the area is. They do have citronella candles in the back that you can light, and the propane fires do keep the bugs away.
The craziest 1 star review I saw was someone saying the towels weren't soft? Unless that person was using silk towels their whole life, I have no idea what they're talking about. All of our room accommodations were great. Our only issue was the water pressure was low in 2 of our rooms, and the hot water was luke warm for 1 night. It was fixed by the morning.
The price is a little steep, but I've paid more for less in other places. It's not some cookie cutter hotel that looks the same as everything else. This is a truly unique place. The area surrounding it is worth the money alone.
Overall, we loved our stay here. Matt, thanks again for accommodating my family on such short notice. You saved our trip and made it very memorable for us.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful and the staff were so nice and accommodating. We loved making s’mores by the fire pit. The breakfast was delicious. They had board games in the common area which my son enjoyed. Very dog friendly. We hope to visit again soon!

Lovely experience!! The lodge and location are absolutely stunning, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Stayed with my husband and my dog, staff was very friendly and attentive. Walls are definitely thin and you can hear everything and everyone lol but people were mindful and there wasn’t much noise after 10-11pm. Can’t wait to come back!!!

The service was great. When I got food poisoning from a local restaurant, the staff was super helpful and thoughtful. I hope to be back when I can fully appreciate the beautiful property!
