“My primary vetinarian went out of business and Dr. K took over caring for my dog who has many health issues. He and his staff are great. The transition was flawless and all of my dog's health needs were met. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. K is very knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly. He does not push unnecessary procedures on you to make money. Dr. K is a great vetinarian and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.”

“Dr. Wallach is truly the vet everyone needs. He takes his time and speaks to you before and after seeing your pet and goes over diagnosis and prognosis in so much detail. I've transferred care from another vet in the area and have never looked back since! My dog Coco was in pain due to unknown causes and Dr. Wallach has been wonderful. “Last Friday I brought my almost 2-year-old orange short-haired cat, Taffy, to Mid Island Animal Hospital just for a nail trim. The team took him right away and brought him back out to me. However, as I went to secure his carrier in the car and walked to the driver's side, my car locked me out—trapping my phone, bag, and key fob inside. It was the most terrifying moment of my life.

The immediate rescue efforts from the staff were nothing short of heroic. Almost the entire team came outside to help. They placed blankets and towels all over the car to block the sun and keep Taffy cool. One of the staff members immediately called the fire department to see how fast they could arrive, and even generously offered to personally drive me to my house and back to get a spare key if my family couldn't get there fast enough. Because I live 20 minutes away, we realized a round trip would take too long for Taffy to wait.

When they asked if I had AAA, and learned my phone was locked inside, the amazing front desk receptionists immediately looked up the toll-free number on their own phones. They called and passionately advocated for Taffy, firmly explaining to AAA that a pet's life was in danger so they would prioritize the call over their initial 1-hour wait time. Another staff member even ran down to a nearby mechanic to see if they could help, and assured me they had a glass-shattering tool we could carefully use as a last resort if help didn't arrive fast enough.

The compassion didn't stop once the car was opened. The staff surrounded us with support. Once AAA unlocked the door, Dr. Wieman and the veterinary team immediately took Taffy into the back to give him a full physical evaluation to ensure he was perfectly okay to go home—completely free of charge.

To top it all off, Dr. Wieman personally called me later that evening right before closing, just to check on how Taffy was feeling. When I told her he was doing great, she was so genuinely relieved and even let me know she would be there Saturday morning if I noticed any changes and needed to bring him back in.

This traumatic experience proved that Mid Island Animal Hospital doesn't just do a job; they operate with pure love, selflessness, and unmatched empathy as a whole team. They are our heroes, and they have earned my loyalty forever!”

I cannot recommend Dr. Penyy at The Cat Doctor highly enough! My 16-year-old Chinchilla Persian, Apple, recently had surgery, and the care we received was absolutely world-class.

What truly sets Dr. Penyy apart is her incredible heart and selflessness. I’ve seen her kneeling on the floor for a long time just to carefully remove Apple’s sutures one by one, showing zero ego. She once even accidentally bumped her head because she was focusing so intensely on examining him, yet her only concern was making sure we weren’t worried! She genuinely puts the well-being of the cats above everything else.

Despite her busy schedule, she is always responsive—answering questions late at night or on weekends with professional guidance. She remembers every detail of Apple’s health stats, which gives me so much peace of mind.

As an artist, Apple is my muse, and I picked up watercolor specifically to capture the beauty of cats. I was so moved by Dr. Penyy’s dedication that I painted a miniature watercolor of her caring for Apple. When I gave it to her, she was so surprised and called it 'so artistic'—her reaction meant the world to me.

My husband and I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing, compassionate doctor in our corner. Thank you, Dr. Penyy, for everything you do for the Apple of our eye, Apple! ??❤️

“Dr. Julie is truly one of the most honest, knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring veterinarians I have ever met.

Before finding Dr. Julie, I had already been to six different appointments with my cat. At every one, I was told that they could not help us and that I needed to find a clinic with different equipment. Every visit came with another charge, and as a single-income household, this was becoming incredibly difficult for me.

I found Dr. Julie because her clinic had the equipment that was supposed to be needed for my cat’s condition. Unfortunately, when I arrived, we discovered that a special attachment was required, one specifically used by veterinary dermatologists. I was absolutely devastated. I was so overwhelmed and frustrated that I actually started crying because I felt like I had spent so much money going from one place to another without getting any closer to helping my cat.

Dr. Julie did something I will never forget: she did not charge me for the visit. On top of that, she spent a significant amount of her own time researching and finding a specialist who could actually help us. She sent me all the information, offered to make a referral, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had a path forward.

That level of kindness, honesty, and genuine concern for an animal and their family is incredibly rare. Dr. Julie never made me feel like I was just another appointment or another bill. She truly cared about helping my cat.

I honestly don’t know how I can thank her enough for everything she did for us. Leaving this review is the least I can do. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, honest, compassionate veterinarian who puts your pet’s well-being first, you can stop looking. I cannot recommend Dr. Julie highly enough.
