“I had the absolute best experience at this thrift store! As an inpatient therapist, I was on the hunt for some good books to add to my facility’s collection, and I was completely blown away by the hospitality.
The owner and the staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in helping me find what I needed (even offering to take the books out to my vehicle). The owner went above and beyond to assist me, offering incredible recommendations. It is rare to encounter such warmth and community spirit these days! I appreciate him so very much!
If you are looking for hidden gems, great reads, or just want to support a business run by wonderful people, this is the place to go. I left with my arms full of wonderful finds and a huge smile on my face. I will definitely be returning!”

It is easily one of the best spots on Long Island to score quality home goods while sustainably keeping usable items out of landfills and supporting a truly wonderful local mission. “Amending my review and adding a star bc generally speaking I have a good time here and don’t feel that my last experience accurately reflects the general one I have when I go here. I donate all my stuff here and also know many of the church members (which is separate but still same entity), all great people. They just need to get better with their communication and not confuse us by having different staff members giving different prices for the same item, this has happened several times to me and when I have pointed it out it has rarely been resolved, only once did someone do the right thing, this isn’t acceptable, the original price a person is given should be the price the person pays. It isn’t on me to understand the hierarchy of who prices the items. I appreciate everything this place does and the hard work these people do, I suspect most of it if not all of it is volunteer work, and I keep that in mind when things like this happen and it’s also why I chose to amend my review.”

I always donate things to this thrift shop knowing others in need can have quality items at affordable prices. And the staff are so pleasant. “It is super good, they sell the clothes by the pound, the pound costs $3 dollars, the place is small but there are clothes in very good condition and new, among other things, such as shoes, bags, etc., I highly recommend it.”

“This place is very small, but it has the sweetest staff and really great prices! They have shoes for $1 and you can fill a basket full of clothes for a dollar as well! they have dresses on a rack for 5 dollars and up, and they have a really great selection of used books, fabric, glasses and dishware, furniture, and other knick knacks! The only qualm about this shop is that there isn't a lot of everything, but it's great for what it is”
“I love going to the Salvation Army I just wish they were a little more organized there's no way of knowing what sizes are in the clothes until you take it off the hangers no but nothing is in any kind of organization especially in the men's wear”

“There are a few Island Thrifts around...and like any thrift experience, it all depends on what is there to say it was a good experience or not. There are so many options at all of them! It takes time to look through the racks and shelves so if you have the time, enjoy. You can come away with a great find or empty-handed. It all depends.”
“Island thrift is great. They have a large selection of books, dvds, clothes, furniture, dishes, suits, and so much more. They also have an excellent donation center. Tax receipts are available.”
