“I was reluctant to go there yesterday for an inspection because of my last inspection experience but yesterday reminded me of K&K of old. My friend went with me again and before we even opened the door we could see a difference. My friend thought it was new owners and even asked but it is still K&K. The only differences I know of are that a person has retired, a person has been hired, and the person taking care of you is different and refreshing. As for the reception area, it is on par with dealerships and large automotive establishments. My husband has been a mechanic for 34 years so as long as his health and the health of his family and friends hold out he will do his own work but as for inspections they have our repeat business and hopefully after reading this review yours also.”

“Extremely friendly, super knowledge, 100% recommend to anyone!!! They helped me buff out a scratch and change my coolant same day and saved the day before my road trip! These guys rock.”
“My son goes to school in Alfred. His Jeep wouldn’t start and after many failed attempts to jump the battery, he called Stewart’s for tow and potential repair. A gentleman showed up (maybe John) and got the vehicle started with a jump pack. He had my son follow him back to the shop where he ran a few other tests and determined that he needed a new battery. The battery was replaced at a very reasonable rate and there was no charge for the trip out to the school. My son said that everyone was very nice and helpful. It’s great to know that are still honest people still out there that won’t overcharge a niave college kid!”
“Positively amazing. My daughter goes to college nearby this shop and we are 2 hours away. She got into a minor fender bender and they went above and beyond to accommodate and assist her. What could have been a stressful situation was quickly resolved with kindness and assistance. Definitely recommend. Five stars all the way!!”
“Maple City Dodge to the rescue ! I live over 100 miles away and my engine blew out at Swain Ski Resort. I met the owners of MCD at the resort and they said they would help me out. My vehicle was towed to their business. Even though it was a Chevy, they got the engine replaced and the Bill was below the original estimate, and completed ahead of schedule (which saved me a tremendous amount of time and money). The car performance is excellent as I tested it on the Hills of 36N. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and expertise ! The only other option I had was to scrap the vehicle. Now I will get a few more years of use thanks to them !”
“After changing out a flat tire on the side of the road, I gave Lamac’s a call to see if they could get me in for a tire patch because I was far from home. They made room, got me in, and had me out pretty quickly, even though they were backed up. So grateful for these guys! True heroes of the day!”
“The team at monro is always so pleasant and professional. Tom is always my go to guy because he takes the time to explain what is wrong with my vehicle and what he plans on doing to fix the issue. Even when they are busy they seem to get me in and out without any problems! Awesome shop!”
“I have to share a review. I tried the Walmart auto shop for the first time. I needed a battery and the low prices for my replacement was simply amazing. It would have been double or even triple the price anywhere else. Some people said don't go there but the service techs were helpful and polite. You'll need to quit complaining about in and out not fast enough. These guys are doing the best they can they get busy sometimes.I told them take your time, I walked around and my car was done in an hour and a half. So what ? That's why you get a battery for 75 bucks, installed.Give em a break !”
“Was in the area over the President’s Day Holiday (2024) doing a college visit with my wife and daughter. Driving back to our hotel from the school, the dreaded CHECK ENGINE!!! light came on and the car (2007 Toyota Highlander started to hesitate. Wife and daughter went on-line trying to find either a dealer or a AAA approved garage nearby, no luck.
Started looking at garages in Hornell and Star Automotive came up with outstanding reviews. I took the chance and nursed the car there. It was after 4 PM and they closed at 5. Went in and explained the problem. Owner/Manager came right out with his OBD scanner, and it indicated a misfire, that coupled with my explanation of the hesitation indicated to him a bad ignition coil. He pulled another car out of a bay to put ours in, confirmed it was a bad coil, called his parts supplier and had us back on the road before close.
We made it back home, over 300 miles, in fine shape. If we lived in the area, Star Automotive Services would be our mechanic. THANK YOU GUYS!!!”
