22 Wightman Ave, HornellI love this place. Previously, I had a cat of of 15 years and he was 22( I thought, )….then my fiancé informed me I had been saying he was 22 for 5 years.
Sadly, it was apparent that he had to be put down.We I swore
we would not have another pet, We were very serious about this.
The very day I brought the ashes home from the finger lakes
was the day an almost identical young kitten/cat appeared.(White and orange small fang break) it was SO strange
WE decided he could live outdoors or above our garage. HE decided he could run Indoors .
We have been to see this twice and am calling for another appointment.
Happy not to have to travel back to my former Geneva vet because although in terms of skills he was very qualified BUT bedside manner was awful! ! !!! After Geneva vet” learned there had been numerous recent deaths in my family He backed away and joked
“Stay away from me, you must be cursed”!!!”
….(“ how compassionate and considerate .thank you very much doc”)
And ( worse) after multiple emergency visits to EVERYWHERE due to much bleeding from backside, and IV fluids and steroids the Geneva ny vet I went to . made me feel guilty for choosing to euthanise. I knew my cat, and I knew he hadn’t eaten in days, he didn’t want company The vet kept telling me how healthy he was, Ignoring the internal bleeding, how terrible my cat felt and looked. And the fact that my cat would not eat drink or eat. Geneva wrote up a treatment plan for thousands of dollars., This soured me on the Geneva vet . It also made me feel guilty, although I know I was in the right.
Hornell animal hospital is a world away from this. Of course it is a business, and no vet is inexpensive but the similarities end there.,
The animals all seem to love Dr Koch(. He is an older gentleman, clearly loves animals, is kind, and professional
My family trained and raised horses and we always had large animal vets .Horses generally hate ALL vets ) but one could see when they did not hate their vet.
Every animal in Hornell clinic seemed delighted to be there. The people did too. Vets work with animals but deal with people. If both are happy That’s a great endorsement.
