“Outstanding experience with Thayer! Long review, but the message is: If needing new appliances, go to Thayer!!! There is no way this whole saga would have gone as well as it did should I have bought this range from a local Big Box store. We have always bought our appliances from Thayer's, wanting to shop local. We haven't needed anything since ca. 2007 when we bought our last appliances, but our beloved dual fuel range died in March 2026, so off to Thayers we went. We were again thinking, nice to shop local and have a more personable experience. And, in the back of my mind I was thinking, nice to have a friendly local store involved just in case anything goes wrong. Just in case. Wow. Good decision! Replacing our beloved range wasn't as easy as I had hoped. It had been discontinued. I worked with Matt (HUGE shoutout) to find the next best thing. Delivery was prompt, although it was soon discovered in fact our cutout was slightly too small. Todd (another HUGE shoutout), cut into our counter to make the space work. He did a beautiful job. After a couple of service calls within the first few weeks (arranged by Thayer), including needing to replace the control board (didn't help), Thayer worked with the manufacturer to get us a replacement oven. Although it was behind the scenes, I suspect this is where Doug Thayer really came in (yet another huge shoutout!). Very seamlessly, the range was replaced. I suspect if I had had to do this on my own, it would have been quite a headache, far from seamless. They were then beyond patient and kind with me as I struggled to pick a replacement. I still don't have the new range, but I am anticipating loving it. And, should it too turn out to be possessed, I now know Thayer will have my back. In short, always shop local. You can't go wrong with Thayer's!”

“Where does one go when packing to move? The HD of course. Found more heavy duty boxes and packing tape. Unfortunately, we continue to guess how many more boxes and packing tape that we need as we pack up our home for the big move to KY. We found the price of the packing paper a bit high and not great quality. Otherwise, we are pleased with the prices and availability of the other moving materials.”
