Absolute Nightmare at Ithaca Tech - Avoid at All Costs!
In my short 14 years of life, I have never met a more incompetent, inexperienced and unhelpful person as Lucas.
I had the absolute worst experience at the Ithaca Tech store last week and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The main reason for my terrible visit was an employee named Lucas who single-handedly made the entire interaction a living nightmare.
From the moment I walked in the door, Lucas greeted me with the most unwelcoming, condescending attitude I have ever encountered at a retail store. He immediately started interrogating me about what I was looking for in a patronizing tone, making me feel like I was wasting his precious time. When I tried to explain what I needed, he would constantly interrupt me and talk over me, as if my questions were irrelevant.
Lucas’ customer service skills were non-existent. He showed us the plans available and then when we chose, he gave us another cheaper option to “save us money”. Instead, we spent nearly half an hour trying to get this new “cheaper” option, but it just resulted in nothing and the end and us having to pay the full price. This just displayed his inexperience and time wasting abilities even more. He took another hour to finalise the data plans and when we were finally done, rushed us out the store in his kid-like temper. His ability to make people feel bad and uncomfortable was exceptional.
During the deal, he grunted one-word responses the entire time and looked like he would rather be anywhere else. When I thanked him at the end, he just scoffed and walked away.
When I thought I would be finally done with this catastrophe, disaster struck. 20 minutes into our road trip after the horrific experience, my mother tried to put her new SIM card into her phone. It didn’t work. My one worked and some part of the deal was right, but two of the four cards which were bought were completely useless.
Just now, I have received an email from AT&T saying that I have 675 mb of data left. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I spent so long buying those unlimited data plans and I get this. I am on a trip when I have to constantly travel by car and that is the reason I have bought this expensive data plan and all that has been thwarted by Lucas. Destroying me experience, wasting my time and scamming me. That is the conclusion of my experience with AT&T and Lucas. I never plan to shop at another AT&T anywhere around the world, and I highly recommend that no one else does too to avoid this terrifying experience.
I have shopped at many tech stores over the years, but I have never encountered an employee as rude, unhelpful, and downright hostile as Lucas. His atrocious customer service skills and bad attitude completely ruined my entire experience at Ithaca Tech. I left the store feeling frustrated, disrespected, and vowing never to return as long as that dreadful Lucas is working there. Avoid this place at all costs if you want to preserve your sanity.

After being unsuccessful at getting help on line and phone, I drove to the Ithaca store. Kiersten is amazing. She was able to help me and in a friendly and timely fashion. Very knowledgeable. Also remembered me when I returned for further help the next day.

very poor customer service and hostile employees, i went to do a phone upgrade and was met with condescending and disrespectful attitudes. the associate keirsten was incredibly rude and was not helpful at all. i was shocked by the way they treat their customers. micah was very nice though.

Went to the Ithaca store to find a new phone. The gentleman there was very friendly and polite. He helped me find a phone, then totally set it up for me. If I could remember his name, I’d recommend a raise !!

Switching to the new phone I bought through ATT couldn't have been easier with the help of Jacob at the local Ithaca ATT store. Just a fast and very friendly experience with something that I was having problems doing myself. Thank you Jacob H. and ATT!! Highly recommend.

Jacob was over the top fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful. I couldn’t be more pleased with this experience, and I am so glad I switched to AT&T from Verizon. I love the new phone. I went to the Ithaca store and my experience was exceptional. Malik, the young man who assusted me was very competent, knowledgeable, and explained things clearly in a language I could understand. At 82 my use of technology is difficult to comprehend but I can learn with someone who is patient and shows me how to do it. Malik excelled in that respect. Courteous and friendly as well. When there was a problem with ordering the manager was available and got us through to resolve the matter. I have been to that store before and the two women were akso helpful

Came here to switch my account from post paid to pre paid nothing about it was done properly even had serious service issues afterwards and had to spend numerous hours on the phone fixing everything sad that I have to do the job of the staff

Kirsten was a great help along with another gentleman. I had purchased some faulty J lab, Bluetooth wireless air pods, I came back to get assistance. They got me a new pair. Got those working and sent me about my way. Great A++++
