I'm a New Yorker born and bred, so when I tell you New York has changed boy I'm not kidding! This is the first time I had to pay to stay at a hotel. Surprisingly with the city bring over crowded we had a difficult time locating a room ourselves. So we got a booking agent. She got a nice room at Best Western on Van Wyck. Room was clean and nice. Especially the bathroom. The receptionist was knowledgeable and pleasant. My only negative experience was the breakfast. It was unappealing and their wasn't good choices. Being this hotel is consider to be choice. I expect more. There was cereal, yogurt. Just Blah! Best Western needs to do a better job.

Spent a couple nights here and was a bit nervous about bed bugs, but when we arrived the place was very clean with no signs of bugs. Staff were friendly, nice variety of good food for breakfast and it was nice to have parking so close. It was a bit noisy from the freeway but that is no fault of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend and return for future trips.

Spent 4 nights here with my wife and kids. Location is a bit noisy in the night as the Van wick Expressway is right across the street. Gas fast food coffee available walking distance. Around around hotel felt safe. Parking lot is very tight if you drive a SUV. Check in and check out was a breeze. Room was clean and tastefully decorated. Saw other posts about bed bugs, thankfully we didn't encounter any. We were on the second floor

The only issue I had, and this was Best Western’s fault, and not the actual Jamaica Inn hotel’s fault, is the deposit. On the website, it clearly states that CASH PAYERS must leave a $250 deposit, but the actual inn’s policy is that all payers must leave a $250 deposit, including those paying with a credit card. Best Western needs to update their website to reflect this. The deposit isn’t just for cash payers. It is for all people staying at the Jamaica Inn. It put me in a tough spot, having just spent a lot of money already in the Philippines, and needing a place to stay after my flight back to the states, before my domestic flight home. Luckily, the staff at Jamaica Inn was willing to work with me, or otherwise I’d have been out the $229 I’d already paid for the room, and had to sleep at the airport.
Rooms: Rooms are very clean and maintained, as expected at a Best Western. It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is certainly up to the standards I expect when I choose Best Western. Breakfast was good. The body wash and shampoo was a really classy touch, to a spotlessly clean shower. The price is certainly inline with New York City, and if anything, I’d say a good value for a clean place, close to JFK.

The breakfast room and house keeping staff are very friendly and helpful.
Walkability: I was able to find restaurants and shopping in a short walk from the hotel.

Please avoid this hotel facility at all cost. There are roaches and bedbugs all over the place. I checked out early the next morning to complain and avoid being charged for the next day. The staff was nonchalant about my concerns.To date l have not gotten a response. This hotel should be closed for bedbug infestation
Noteworthy details: Terrible facility. Avoid booking at all costs. This hotel should be shut down.
