My experience with renting vehicles fromBudget-JFK has been very good. I go there often to rent vehicles to transport my collegeage daughter. So I’ve been there many times over the last three years. They have an assortment of vehicles that are reasonably priced. They are clean and well serviced.You’ll do just fine renting with them.

We rented here car for our trip from NYC-Key West and back.We arrived at the evening and we get our car fast, there was no lines.Do not take gas service, they say that they have better gas prices than at gas station, so we took it (4,50$ per gal.) gas station price was 3,70$. Fill your car self.If you will travel a lot, take than Toll, we took it and travelled without any problems. Its not cheap but will save you headache.Booking was made for Chevy Tahoe, but we get Chevy Suburban (which is bigger = better). Car was almost new only 8k miles.We had no problems with the car.

Had an amazing experience with just one issue, quickly resolved. Pleased with my 2023 Nissan Rogue from Budget – my go-to rental choice now.

Rented a compact SUV and received a Nissan Rogue. Car was clean and worked well. Staff was friendly and the check-in relatively quick.The price I ended up paying is what I prepaid online. Overall it was a good experience.

I was charged $281.76 yesterday for my rental and when I return the car I was charge $105.92. I asked Dominique in the counter if I could speak to the supervisor. She didn’t want to get a supervisor, she wanted to assist and then started giving me attitude. Do you have a receipt for gas? I said give me a minute looking for the receipt. Then I showed her she then said okay you don’t have to put it in my face. I said I’m just showing it to you, it’s not on your face. I told her to relax because she’s being aggressive. Also, I told her that Allianz insurance states on the contract that You do not have to buy collision/damage insurance at the counter. Your vehicle is covered. I told Dominique I was forced to get it when I already said to the agent yesterday I have insurance. She said no one forced you. I said I was because I already said I have insurance and Allianz. When I was leaving she started talking about me to her colleagues, so I turned around and told her Don’t talk about me while I’m in your office. Stop being unprofessional. Zero star for customer service. Yesterday, when I came in the office marijuana smell in the whole office. Budget needs to invest in sprays. The vehicle was dirty inside and has pungent smell. I just looked at my credit card statement. Budget charged me $81.76 4x.

Let me preface this review with I travel often for work and I rent from Budget often. This review is for this specific location (@ JFK airport) I was not able to grab a car from the FastBreak aisle like I normally do (because the app didn't work for some reason; I was told "their (the facility I was at) system is messed up") and had to go inside to the counter. I was told I was not allowed to take the car I chose for some reason, and the car they reassigned me to had bald tires, so I had to go inside to the counter AGAIN. Then the associate took it upon himself to upgrade my reservation to a much higher class of car (probably because he didn't have the car I reserved) and charged me for the upgrade without telling me!!! The cost was almost DOUBLE what my reservation was. Then I had to call 3 different times over the course of 2 weeks to get the credit back! The first time I called (during the reservation) they told me the only way to get the credit back was to drive the car back to the place I picked up the car and switch cars. That would have been a 2-hour drive each way!!!! Once I talked to someone who did give me credit, he didn't give me the full credit and I had to "play detective" to determine my credit card only got refunded a small portion of what I was supposed to get.This experience was so bad I am seriously considering taking Budget off the list of potential rental companies when I travel for work (which is often).

Where do I begin? I'm trying not to curse or become inflamed, but this office got me so angry I could cheerfully drive a bulldozer through it. My brother was visiting NYC at the beginning of November and was coming into JFK, so he'd prepaid for a four-day rental of a small SUV from this location. When he arrived, he went to pay the deposit and get his vehicle, but was told that their machine couldn't read the chip on his card. Here's where it got nuts: they wouldn't allow him to use the tap or swipe features because "Budget's policy only allows the chip." Worse, although his card had worked just fine previous to this (when he was on the plane and in the airport), and it worked fine afterwards during his stay, the heifer behind the desk made it seem like it was his problem why the card wasn't working, not their equipment -- yet the only place it didn't work was in Budget's offices. But ignoring that, what sort of national company utilizes such restrictive payment policies towards their customers?? Worst of all, she gave him a terrible problem getting his money back for the prepaid rental. She couldn't charge the deposit, couldn't give him the vehicle he'd paid for, and couldn't give him back his money (?!!) All I can say is that Budget is lucky I was simply waiting in the car; if they did this foolishness and talked about they couldn't refund me, there would have been some furniture rearranged inside there!. Needless to say, avoid this place and spare yourself a potential disaster. My brother had me waiting, but if a cab dropped you off and left, you'd be stuck listening to foolishness with no car and no way to get to your hotel!

Second time renting thru budget and both times the vehicles were filthy. For the amount of money spent on the vehicles I expected them to be clean when I received them, but they were far from it. I do not recommend going with budget for your rental needs.

STAY FAR AWAY!!! I rented a car here because they were cheaper than the others but never again. I’ll gladly pay more money to avoid the nightmare that I had when dealing with Budget. My plan arrived at 6:15pm and we didn’t leave with a car until 9:15pm. We waited for 2.5 hours for them to tell us they didn’t have the truck we reserved. They sent us next door to Avis. Avis then gives us a dirty truck with low tire pressure and when we returned the truck they didn’t register it correctly in their system so budget starts texting me 4 days later to extend the rental before they press legal charges. I called twice before we finally got everything situated but huge waste of time. The reps are rude and don’t care. Pay the extra $20 to rent elsewhere and to get a clean car without issues.

Budget at JFK airport has Fantastic customer service! The first person that helped me at the counter courteous, friendly, explained everything in detail and thoroughly, was patient and answered all my questions, and was honest. I was going to add the toll pass but after sharing the areas I would be traveling within, the representative told me I don’t need to get it, there were no tolls. The person who assisted me when returning the vehicle was prompt, respectful and nice. The whole process was smooth! Due to the great customer service and decent prices I will continue to consider Budget first when I need to rent a car.

AWFUL. Don't come here unless you want to wait 2.5+ hours for a car you've already paid for and because they won't give it to you in a timely manner. Should've easily left the airport before rush hour and because of the significant delay we tacked on an extra hour to our drive as well. DONT USE

Appalling experience that was border line undignified and berating. Agents are unhelpful, rude, and have no problem lying to you and subsequently putting the blame on you as if them not having the vehicle you RESERVED is your fault.In a retaliatory manner I was made to wait over an hour to get a vehicle class I booked after refusing their claimed “upgrade”. They also refused to update my pick up time claiming that it’s my fault for “changing cars”The vehicle itself is in a bad condition. Scratches, dings, and chips all over. Signs of smoking, ash, and burns inside. Tires were not inflated properly and the tpms light was on. After an hour plus wait I gave up and just took the car and left, I pumped up the tires myself which apparently is against their policy but guess what, my safety and the safety of others trumps your ridiculous policies. Absolutely horrendous experience.I reached out to corporate customer service and I am waiting for a response to address this experience.

Very bad service and no explanation of reservation and pricing. The agent was on his phone watching videos and when I returned the vehicle I was charged incorrectly and now I am waiting for a refund if the agent was paying attention during the interaction and not watching tik tok videos this would of probably alleviate the issue. This is also a security issue when people are proving social and credit cards information.

Outrageous how the manager (so I think) was recommending me to get all tolls included for just an additional fee of ~$250 after I explained in detail the places I would visit throughout the rental period. After multiple recommendations to get the all tolls included addition from the person in question, in the end, I declined because it seemed off to pay so much for just TOLLS, even though I accepted first.The result... I received an additional bill for around $45. Was this just a mistake or are they just trying to sell you as much as possible? That is for you to decide, even though I lean more towards the second one.As in everything, there are some positives as well. After waiting for 1.5h in line, the process was simple and smooth. The car was great, fun to drive, and giving the car back was just as expected. Nonetheless, I cannot give more than one star because of the experience at the establishment. I hope this can be used as constructive feedback for the business and to raise awareness for future customers who face the same recommendation.

Should be zero stars but not able to do that. Terrible customer service. They made us wait on the fast break line as they called all the customers on the regular line first. Then lied that they were here before us. Why bother having a fast break service if you have to wait longer.
