“I really love this little book shop! It’s geared mostly to children but there are books for everyone and Meg has a fantastic collection. She’s helpful, friendly, remembers her clients, and seems to truly love what she does. I’ve found some nice, well written books that I otherwise wouldn’t have heard of if it weren’t for her thoughtfully curated collection. I’m fond of reading a book I’ve found here a few steps away at Jam with a latte. A real gem in the city.”
“Highly recommend selling your textbooks here! I recently changed my major in college and have a lot of old textbooks. I got some quotes off the website for them prior to going to the store. The customer service was great and I look forward to going back there with more of my textbooks in a few weeks! Offers were reasonable and this is a much easier process than trying to sell the books online on my own. Once again HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
“Unusually beautiful highlight of my pass through Buffalo. The cinnamon waffle and coffee were so good I might have to fly back.
The owner hunted esoteric books for me, and made me feel at home in the backyard patio edged with art and flowers.”
“I love bookstores generally, but local shops that are based in my community always offer the best service. Taking Leaves is the kind of place that puts little summaries and staff recommendations on the shelves where you find the book. They go to great lengths to be helpful, too. Love this place. (Head to The Aurora Caffe [sic] next door after to read your purchase.)”
“As a culinary connoisseur I enjoyed this cute store tucked away in the Buffalo, NY area. It was small in size but delicately filled with various culinary books and crafts. Would recommend checking out if you’re a foodie like me!”
“This place is fantastic. This is a really well-curated selection of used books. They also have a multi-function space in the back. The owner and employees are cool as hell and play good music and have weird (in a good way) and interesting shtuff around the space. I adore being in here. Please check it out and support it.”

“May Allah bestow barakah in this store. Darul Hikmah is a wonderful store where one can find Islamic attire, islamic books, and more. You can also order books from their website.”
“Started getting my books here after my local comic shop closed. It's a bit of a trek in comparison to my local comic shop but they make up for it with such easy subscription options via the app. You get emails for all your comics well ahead of thyme and they don't harp on you to come in and get your comics. There's plenty of back issues and boxes full of old comics to sift through. Definitely give them a try!”
“Never been there before. I live literally right around the corner. met my girlfriend for lunch there. Most definitely will be going back. Love the food, love the atmosphere.”
“A great independent book store who provided much knowledge about African American graphic novels. They were especially helpful during the Black Lives Matter movement. I am very grateful for the help they provided and the direction given.”
“My husband and I love this store, very sweet and friendly owners. They will help you with anything they can. If they don't carry it in the store they will order it for you. Nice atmosphere to browse in. Love it!”
“Was in Buffalo for the day and came upon Cool Beat. My wife and I spent a couple of hours going through the records and speaking with Wayne who is very kind and knowledgeable about music. We left with a few records, some collectibles and made a new friend.”
“I finally got to go into the bookstore for the first time some months back I gotta say it looks really nice inside and they have tons of books and other things you can get as well”
“Our first time in was so enchanting! The owner was absolutely heartwarming and made fast friends with our little one. Great selection of all sorts of used books. Yay for environmentalism! Prices are great and the book conditions were all excellent that I saw.”
“I'm amazed by how many fungal books they had (what I went in for, wasn't expecting much at all). I bought a great lichen field guide and the book seller was very kind and helpful. I helped him identify a bird that was trapped in the store earlier that day! Hope the little guy is ok.”
“This place has a lot of books and pictures. I was looking for original Tom Swift or Rover Boys books and found both. I could have wandered through the aisles for hours. Highly recommended.”
“What a beautiful place. I had a wonderful conversation with the nice woman behind the counter. I purchased two books and she invited me to a couple events being offered there in the up coming weeks. I'm looking forward to participating in upcoming events. I'm definitely going back”
“Locally owned shop to purchase Greek paraphernalia! With lots of customizable Honestly this place wasn't the most organized , but the guy knew how to locate everything that I asked with ease. Everything was also reasonably priced. You certainly couldn't find cheaper prices on line. Just as a heads up I am pretty sure that they do mostly customizations for their orders so you might want to get in and order what you want in advance. I particularly appreciated all of the items that they had for Kappa! Yo to the Nupes .”
“They got rid of the AirPods and speakers in the book store making it almost useless and only good if you want hoodies or shirts. If you need little stuff just go to cvs or riteaid this is kinda overpriced.”
“I’m grateful that Canisius University’s Bookstore returned the call to me!I was inquiring with regard to Canisius University’s Auto Window decals. I had originally looked Online, but was unsuccessfulfinding anything!Ironically, Canisius University recently sent me a window decal that I can use.I had attended Canisius College for GraduateSchool. There I received my Master of Science in Education, Class of 1985. (But I had completed my requirements in Decemberof ‘84.)I also had gone on to take additionalGraduate School coursework, at both SUNY@Amherst Campus. And at the University ofNiagara University, Graduate School; just to extend my graduate education.I had considered back then to continue my education in a Post Graduate Program for aDoctorate Degree. But decided to changemy mind.Prior to formerly entering both undergraduateand graduate schools, I had also served in the military, during the Vietnam War.I attended undergraduate & graduate schools when I was in my early to late 20s. And, as well, into my 30s when I had attended graduate schools.I also had taught school In grades: K - College, in a variety of academic disciplines. Now into my 70s. I feel Blessed to have achieved such an education!May God Bless all of the educationalinstitutions I had attended!”

“This is an excellent store to visit. Lots and I mean Lots of Buffalo State paraphernalia to choose from. The customer service is top notch. The two ladies working at the register are so helpful. I wish I could remember their names but I can't.”
“Nice little bookstore, discovered by chance while out doing our laundry. Bright, welcoming store with well thought out amd arranged selections of books and magazines. Super friendly and helpful owner, who made a great recommendation of a book I really enjoyed. I’ll definitely be back!”
