“I am not a fan of banks so I can't believe I'm writing a positive review. I had had enough of TDBank and their lack of customer service or even caring. Adirondack Tust opened a new branch near my house and I went inside to check it out. That was three years ago and I am still with them. The one word that stands out to me is "class". Managers that care (Queensbury office) to live operators that answer the phone on one or two rings. I am using their online banking and have stopped using any bookkeeping systems. Just catorgize the expense - end of the year send it to my accountant. Live support for online questions (Jody) that are professionl, friendly and knowledgable. Got my mortgage there and friends couldn't believe how fast it happened. Want real people and service - call them.”

“The ladies who work at this branch repeatedly go out of their way to provide the utmost customer service. I came in the day after Christmas with a bad cold, unaware that I had been charged a fee. They told me about it and worked for 20 minutes to get it removed and I didn't even ask them to! They also brought me a hot cup of chamomile tea and let me sit in a comfortable chair while they resolved the issue. I have never been provided with this level of customer service and outright humanity by a bank before. Very impressed.”

I have had my checkIng account with the Washington County branch for over 30 years and not one problem. I’ve also used the Fort Edward, the main branch in Glens Falls and Kingsbury branches. They’re incredibly helpful and all of the branches and different hours makes it very convenient. Each of their employees goes out of their way to be friendly, polite and eager to help. “My wife and I secured a construction loan on a foreclosed property that would need a total renovation. We had to meet an aggressive timeline in order to make our closing date on time. Our real estate agent recommended Loan Officer John Hersey and NBT. That recommendation could not have worked out better. The process required the completion of a lot of paperwork and coordination with lawyers, Insurance Agents, Inspectors and various other individuals involved with the sale. This was complicated further by the fact we live in Atlanta, Georgia and the property is in North River, New York. Only through Mr. Hersey's attention to detail and excellent communication skills were we able to make the closing date on time. I will definitely recommend NBT and specifically Mr. Hersey to anyone who is looking to secure a mortgage.”

“The folks who work at this bank are great. The branch manager, Phil, is very nice and very helpful as are the tellers. I give a full 5 stars to them. Unfortunately, I feel like I need to remoce a couple of stars due to the lobby ATM. If you try to use the ATM after hours be aware that the door that opens and closes automatically takes a very long time to close behind you. It makes it very easy for someone to rush in behind you and rob you. While this area is safe it is still a potential issue”

“Trustco recently changed their online site and obviously that affected my automatic transfers between accounts. I went in to get some information, but could not find the manager. Instead, there was a substitute and she was not helpful. Basically, I was kissed off. Went back the next day, and spoke directly to Dela Williams. He checked my accounts and provided some suggestions. He also checked to make sure my mortgage and car payments were not disrupted. Him spending the time to double check was reassuring and I decided to stick with the bank. I have found finding the right person counts.”
