“In 2015, Discovering Me welcomed our family, and now after 8 years and 3 children in the program we must sadly say our goodbyes. We feel so grateful to have found this program!Discovering Me provides a child friendly learning environment, with many opportunities for kids to be independent. All three of my children mastered many self help skills needed for everyday tasks, that made my life a whole lot easier. The program maintains positive adult-child relationships, and encourages family engagement. Carol and Laurie prepare monthly newsletters to inform families of the happenings and add friendly reminders. The program follows daily routines, and schedules that helped my children feel safe and secure in knowing what to expect when they arrived at school each day. We always looked at the monthly calendar sent home to see what the themes were each week. My kids loved looking for books or toys related to the theme and on occasion I was convinced to buy clothes to match the theme. My daughter now has a very stylish dinosaur dress.All three of my children were lucky to have Mrs. Christine, and assistant Ms. Dee. She has a great reputation in the community, and she is a passionate teacher that provides a warm and comforting environment. All of my kids LOVED going to school and talk about Mrs. Christine as if she is part of our family.I firmly believe that building an early positive association with learning is essential to our kids' growth. All of my children found a solid beginning at Discovering Me. The graduation ceremony is magnificent. They really do a great job!”

“Top notch staff, amazing activities (mountain biking, pottery wheel, outdoor adventure, ninja warrior, just go name a few). And they have towel service and provide hot lunch and busi transportation. My son misses the friends he made and wants to go back next season!”

“I’ve had the best experience at Ivy prep. My daughter went since she was 8 months and believe me when she left this school she was advanced for kindergarten. The school is clean, the teachers are attentive and loving. The food is well balanced. I was contacted for everything and the learning is phenomenal. I would put my next kid here if I needed to.”

“I’ve been trying to leave a review for a long time and I can’t find the words to describe how this facility has helped me and my little one. Our day starts very early and as healthcare worker and a single mom. The staff is amazing in so many ways. They always welcome us 6am with a smile and ready to start the day. She loves and talks about every staff and how they play with her and how they are her “best friend” I walk knowing she is in good hands and I appreciate the safe and nurturing environment they provide. It's clear that the caregivers prioritize a stimulating learning environment, which has had a positive impact on my child's development. I appreciate the effort put into making each day a valuable learning experience. If you are looking for a place you found it ! I’m incredibly grateful to have found this daycare. The early opening hours have been a lifesaver for me as a single mom, accommodating my schedule seamlessly. The staff's friendliness and reliability provide a sense of security, making it easier to entrust my four-year-old to their care. The engaging and educational activities contribute to my child's growth, and the effective communication channels, including the portal and prompt responses, further enhance my confidence in their services. “Our son is the second child that has attended The Little Red because we were so impressed with Anna a few years ago when our daughter was there. His verbal, behavioral and social skills have advanced incredibly since September. He is always talking about his friends, Mrs. M/Ms. Noelle and all of the things he has done that day. Anna has a different weekly theme which includes stories, arts and crafts, sensory bin, etc. The children not only work on their communication and behavioral skills, but also gross and fine motor skills as well. The class size is small with 6 children per 2 adults which allows the children to connect with each other and enhance their learning. Anna is also wonderful with potty training and will give advice on any issues/concerns you may have with your childs learning/behavior. We are sad that the school year is coming to an end because it means that our family’s time is up with Anna. I would not hesitate recommending TLR to anyone as it is a caring and enriching environment for your child.”

“My siblings and I all attended Sacred Heart starting in the late 70's. There are 5 of us and all turned out relatively successful (software engineer, doctor, teacher, business owner, executive). I credit Sacred Heart with providing us with the stepping stones that encouraged and prepared us for our life journey after the 8th grade.I made the choice to continue the legacy and send my son to Sacred Heart as well. It remains an excellent school which fosters a close-knit community. So far, the teachers and staff have been fantastic. You really start to understand the quality of education at Sacred Heart when you interact with parents and students from other schools. Alongside the educational element, the school does an outstanding job of teaching discipline, moral values, and social skills. It's heartening to see these shine through as my son grows and develops at Sacred Heart. I am not convinced that the excitement and joy he exudes each and every day towards learning would come out by attending any other school.”

Not only do they teach the kids Russian and English, but they use the best European methods of always having the kids spend time outside regardless of the weather. My children planted a garden there, learned about an ant farm, shared about their heritage, made German lanterns, learned to dance, sing and how to be good humans! “I have sent all three of my girls here, and I am sad to see that our time is coming to an end. The teachers and staff go above and beyond. There is such a sense of community, & family here at this school. The program has taught them so much from colors, shapes, letters, rhyming words, site words, how to hold a pencil correctly. This program will always hold such a special place in my heart. If you are looking for a preschool, I HIGHLY recommend, you will not be disappointed and neither will your children. Mine always came home happy & excited to share what they learned, and to talk about the amazing friends they have met.”

“We started our son at Children’s Corner on Westchester Ave when he was 6 months old. After considering several child care options, we quickly felt we made the correct choice with how great the infant teachers were. Miss Anastasia and Nancy remained his favorite teachers even as he progressed out of the infant room. Aliya'h and Cookie run the center and are great with communication. We had to relocate our son to a different center due to a move, but we kept him enrolled at a different Children’s Corner location due to the positive experience at Westchester Ave. As good of a total value as you’ll find in the area.”

“We have sent our son to Children's Corner since he was 4 months old. The staff have provided our son with the utmost love, support, and guidance for growth. He loves going to daycare and playing with his friends, teachers, and of course eating all of the delicious snacks! It would be great to see a wider online/social media presence to market the amazing work the teachers do and the utter enjoyment the kids have every day!”

“I highly recommend Liberty Montessori for its nurturing environment and excellent academic curriculum. I have sent both my children to Liberty for 3 years each. They were both exceptionally well prepared to enter Kindergarten in a competitive school district. I was particularly impressed by their ability to transition to an online format during the pandemic, as well as the numerous measures they have taken to keep the school operating safely once children were allowed back in. My children always loved their teachers and progressed academically as a direct result of the tailored curriculum. They have been taught reading, writing, math, languages, science, art, and yoga all in a loving environment. We could not have asked for more.”

“My 9 year old son (a return camper) said it was yet another amazing week. The coaches were good at teaching them new techniques, and it was fun for him to make new lax friends (all of course from a respectable social distance). He had a great time, and we were so thrilled it didn't have to cancel. We highly recommend!”

“My child attended the toddler class and now in preschool class (age 3). She has felt safe, happy and dealing with social interactions with classmates well. We initially thought about changing schools when she got to preK 3 but the hours are great; she has a regular group of kids and teachers she knows. The staff calls me after every incident so I am aware and can observe later in the day. They send a report to email daily about what she learned and what she ate and potty breaks (not 100% accurate but generally true.) They helped potty train her. They have monthly parents night out for parents and the kids get to stay in school- watch a movie and eat dinner and dessert. They are peanut free and accommodating to other food allergies- it’s clear to the people in the class if there are food allergens to be avoided. They provide 2 healthy snacks a day and you provide lunch with pizza Friday as an option- which we do take advantage of. Lots of programs a month and flexibility with taking your child out and bringing them back. My daughter is lucky and has not had any major illnesses but I do take her to her doctor to be cleared before coming back. It is a well program so you have to have outside assistance if your child is sick but I haven’t heard anything about outlandish quarantine practices. Good school and nice families- very diverse group of folks.”

“WENT FROM (3RD GRADE TO 5TH GRADE) 1997-2000. ONE OF THE BEST SCHOOLS IN THE AREA. HAD SOME GOOD TEACHERS, MADE GOOD FRIENDS THAT IM STILL FRIENDS WITH TO THIS DAY AND I HAD ONE EXCELLENT GUIDANCE COUNSELOR WHO IS NOW RETIRED. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL.”

GNCS is a wonderful school with a devoted parent body, a highly experienced teaching staff and a great facility that includes a massive playground and outdoor class room. The school provides a safe and enriched environment for kids to grow, develop and thrive. It is definitely the top choice for daycare school in the Great Neck area. Highly recommended!”
