“My cat, Zephyr, and I are grateful beyond words!!!!! I recently moved back to NY and didn't have a regular vet setup yet when my cat required emergency dental extractions. Every other vet I called (I called many!) required multiple, costly pre-procedure visits before they would do any dental procedures. My cat was in pain with an active infection in his mouth and this was unacceptable!! Not only was Crawford Animal Hospital the most affordable, but I was able to walk in without an appointment and have his procedure done on the same day!! Dr. Josh was incredibly compassionate towards my cat's needs and my financial situation, and the staff were all so professional, friendly, and clearly love animals. The procedure itself went well and I was able to take my cat home on the same day. He recovered quickly that evening and was 100% by the following morning. I waited a couple of days to post this review in case of any adverse reactions, but I'm happy to report that were none!! Thank you so much Dr. Josh and team for your excellent veterinary care!!!”

We followed his suggestions closely, and one month later at our follow-up, Gizmo was all in the green thriving, full of life, and surrounded by positivity.

This place is the opposite of a factory. It’s heart, soul, and real connection. My mom brings her cat here, my nephew brings his pets here, and now Dr. Saslou and the team are officially our family’s doctor. Gizmo will never forget them and neither will we. We will see you for the next check up!

“My primary vetinarian went out of business and Dr. K took over caring for my dog who has many health issues. He and his staff are great. The transition was flawless and all of my dog's health needs were met. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. K is very knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly. He does not push unnecessary procedures on you to make money. Dr. K is a great vetinarian and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.”

“Mid Island Animal Hospital is a Veterinary practice and hospital that goes above and beyond. I wanted to share this experience so others, who love their animals, would know about how wonderful the care is at Mid Island Animal Hospital. I have been taking my golden retriever puppy there since she was 12 weeks old. Recently, my 17 month old dog stopped eating and was just sleeping all day which was not like her at all. I thought maybe she had a stomach parasite or some other simple issue. We were taken that same day and seen by Dr. Stephanie Acevedo. Dr. Acevedo was extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and compassionate. She understood we were in shock and upset with the test results and she took the time to explain everything several times. She never rushed us out or made us feel bad about asking so many questions. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate. She was just great with my dog. The dog required emergency surgery and Dr. Acevedo arranged everything with the surgeon so that the procedure went smoothly. She guided and helped us through this difficult and stressful time. Thank God that the surgery was a success and my girl will be just fine. Huge thank you to Dr. Acevedo for saving my girl. I must also add that the Vet techs and front office personnel are just amazing. They treat both pets and families with kindness and respect. From beginning to end, this practice takes care of and goes above and beyond for their patients. Your family is in good hands at Mid Island Animal Hospital. The Dr and her assistant were very calming and spent an unusual amount of time to get to know my Boxer. They played with her and gave her alot of treats. “We find it quite challenging to adequately describe how grateful we are that Dr. Kleminger and staff, in particular Vet Tech Sydney took care of our geriatric cat Cassius. Cassius was two months old when he first saw Dr. Kleminger and he lived to the ripe old age of 19 largely in part to the exceptional care, guidance and love we received at Companions. Cassius was a strong, fighter who endured, multiple medical emergencies where we thought he might die. All through these crisis Dr. Kleminger and Sydney were there for us. We had to administer fluids and medications at home which Sydney came to our house to teach us every week for months until we learned to do it ourselves. Cassius hated the carrier, and going to the vet, however, he immediately calmed down when Dr. Kleminger would pet him and talk to him. He would fall right asleep when Sydney would hold him on his back like a baby. It was absolutely magical. We love all of the staff at Companions. The front desk staff are loving and compassionate. “My dogs have been seeing Dr. Julie Andino for over 17 years. We followed her from another vet’s office. Besides being an excellent veterinarian, she is very caring and loves the pets she cares for. She recently saw us through a tough time when we had to make the terrible decision to put our dogs down due to old age and illness. She was supportive and compassionate throughout this difficult time for our family. She cried with us. I am happy to say that we are back with our new dog, Mabel. “I never write reviews but this one is necessary! Dr. Pozo is truly a gem, she’s so warm and gracious and puts you right at ease! She squeezed me in to see my two newly adopted cats when I found out one of them was given to me sick. She examined them both and prescribed medicine, taking the time to teach me how to administer and tips on how to keep the cats calm and how to prevent myself from getting scratched! She has since been very kind to answer all my follow up worry some questions and has also taken care of my dog. “These are truly some of the kindest and most caring people you’ll ever meet! Dr. Sandra Popa came highly recommended by a friend, and I now understand why. Despite being fully booked for the day, they managed to squeeze us in the same day (at 5pm!) when my grandma’s senior cat started straining in the litter box and peeing a little blood. The front desk here was so compassionate and accommodating - they understood it was urgent, while all other vets told us the earliest they could get us in was the next morning.

Dr. Popa was beyond amazing and patient. She took her time to ask questions, go over the medical history, and explain everything clearly without ever rushing. You can just tell she loves animals and puts her heart into her work. Her compassion and calm demeanor instantly put me at ease.

Their prices are also very fair, which says a lot about their values. All other places I called wanted to charge an astronomical amount. You can tell they really care about helping pets more than anything else. I’m so grateful we found Dr. Popa and her wonderful team. They truly go above and beyond, and we’ll be clients for life!!”

“Dr. Wallach is truly the vet everyone needs. He takes his time and speaks to you before and after seeing your pet and goes over diagnosis and prognosis in so much detail. I've transferred care from another vet in the area and have never looked back since! My dog Coco was in pain due to unknown causes and Dr. Wallach has been wonderful. “Honestly, this place is lovely. I have been to many vets over the years and I have never felt as safe as I do here. They do not shame- my cat is overweight and they remained focused on a plan, not on making me feel like a bad pet parent. Whats even crazier is that my cats do not fear the carrier. While they will cry in the car once they are in the vet office they are calm. They come home relaxed. I think about all the trauma my other cats had at previous vets and it honestly breaks my heart knowing this was an option the whole time. VCG are profoundly lovely and caring people.”
