“I can't recommend Threads and Treads enough. I started running again in my late 30s and had tried ordering shoes online. After a few fails, I went in person and the staff were so helpful. They looked at my feet and the arches, the width, my stance, how I walk... and helped direct me to a shoe that would support all these areas. Highly recommend supporting this business so we can keep stores alive that really provide expertise and guidance we will never get through big box stores. One note: keep the box! you can't return unless you have the box :)”

“Going to this Altar’d State was a pure example of perfect customer service. I’m not from CT, I’m visiting from out of state, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I immediately noticed how kind and helpful everyone was. I was greeted at the door, when I went to grab a dress, a worker came and moved all the other hangers to make sure I had room to look for my size. (The rack was packed with stuff) then, I wanted a dress that was hanging high up, the girl dropped everything she was doing and got me the size I wanted, then she took me to the fitting room where the women who worked in the fitting room was so kind and helpful. Everyone working there made sure you had everything you needed, and they were willing to drop everything to help you. I’m from NJ where the closest Altar’d State is American Dream, which is the complete opposite, as some of you may know. Definitely such a nice vibe and experience, loved the staff!
Also, it was so refreshing and nice to walk into a store playing Christian Music, it was so comforting. They definitely made a good decision with that.”

“We bought a jacket for my 5yr old 13 months ago. He’s 5 and wore it to death last winter and the beginning of this winter. The zipper was always a little hard to use. It stopped zipping. I was frustrated every time I zipped it up. My son couldn’t do it at all. I knew it was out of warranty so I called customer service. They said they could repair it but it would take 8 WEEKS! Dag. Can’t do that. They said to take it to my local store and ask to exchange or return it even though it’s out of warranty. Ok? Sure. So I went to the Yonkers store. They saw the jacket and how beat up it was. Of course they were hesitant to exchange or return it. I would be too. Najib, the manager on duty came and helped my wife. Even though he was hesitant (reasonably so, my kid isn’t easy on his clothing), Najib let us exchange it. I’m writing this review to show how good a company LL Bean is and how well they handle the grey areas of retail. He could have sent us on our way but he was calm, cool and really helped us out. I’m not a jerk who takes advantage of return policies like so many people do. It’s those folks who ruin it for the rest of us. The fellows at the Yonkers store were solid. Id happily have them on my staff and the Bean should be proud to have them at the Yonkers store helping families like mine sort through tough aspects of the retail relationship. Shop here. They’re good people.”
“I always hated shopping for clothes, because I couldn't find things that flatter my shape or put together outfits on my own. I even tried a personal shopper at a large retailer and it just didn't work. Shopping was more of a tiring chore than fun activity- until I recently found Marc Cain at The Westchester. I am a convert! They helped style me in outfits that look great and I feel great in. Their collections mix and match and a lot of the clothes don't require dry cleaning. They are comfortable too. I now have work and play gear that fits great, really flatters me, and is comfortable- from clothes, to shoes, to coats. They've made shopping fun and easy. Each time I was there, I noticed the staff did the same for the other customers of different shapes and sizes and all of us left feeling terrific. I've been back a few times and each time has felt like hanging with a bunch of friends who help you look your best. I don't write reviews- but this best kept secret needs to get out!!”

But I want to say that, for all the expensive orders Richards must get, I was so appreciative and touched by the attention to detail and customer service I received. Specifically, they gift wrapped the order beautifully, included a congratulatory gift tag note, and sent a hand written note from the person who put the order together. Above and beyond. Would 100% recommend this store.”

and Mario kept them secure and was waiting for me upon my arrival back into the store.
While I was trying to manage the self check out I realized one of my items didn’t have a bar code ticket.

“I didn't think there would be so many Christmas stuff here. There was this one girl there with red hair and glasses that was very nice to us and greeted us at the front door and help my daughter and I get the sizes that we wanted for our Christmas sweaters. Usually in other stores we never really get greeted so hearing someone greet us felt great! The sweaters in this place are always so lovely. I definitely need to come back here every year.”
