“I live in Peekskill but always use this Buchanan post office. The clerk is friendly, helpful and respectful. The mail gets to where it is supposed to go, and seems to travel a wee bit faster than mail out of Peekskill. So far I have not lost any mail leaving from Buchanan. I have lost a lot from Peekskill. Having said all that, I do like my Peekskill mailman, Eric who is great, but don’t like using the post office.”

“I had to come do a review because folks tend to review only with bad experiences and not good ones. I come to this post office because it's close to us, closes at 3 on Saturdays, and the folks behind the desk are so helpful and nice. Never have had an issue and I've had service by different personnel. I like this over any other post office in Rockland... especially palisades mall where one person in particular is rude and miserable.”

“Easily the best post office I’ve ever used. They have a parking lot (!!) and I’ve gotten to know both postmasters and most of the clerks over the past decade. The staff is professional and efficient and even though at busy times it backs up easily (credit a lot of privileged suburbanites who use the USPS all of once a year and equally unprepared college kids from the two local schools), I have always trusted this post office and the excellent service and support they’ve long given me and my business.”
“Great little post office. Never a line and Joe is always super friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile for you. I had to send a package that didn't quite fit in the standard box and he took the time and effort to bend, fold and tape it all together so I could send it. Way more than he needed to do!”

“Everyone is always pleasant and courteous. Post offices have a bad rep sometimes but I find this one stress free and easy. I don’t really get the negative reviews. Sometimes packages get lost because it goes through a huge system after it leaves the local branch. I wouldn’t blame them for that.”
“This post office service staff is heads and heels beyond friendly and helpful, I got my kids passports done here, and I had anxiety when I didn't have everything needed, they were understanding and still took photos I ran home and grabbed the required documents and they took my applications. Always friendly when I come in to drop off packages. Totally not the case for other usps locations in the region.”

“I find the people that work the windows to be unfailingly polite, helpful and efficient. The USPS has been starved for funds for ages now so if you're unhappy with this post office, write your congressman and advocate for better funding - don't blame the people who do the best they can with outdated equipment, office space etc.”

I go there regularly to send out packages and have to say the one employee Ash is always very friendly and welcomes everyone with a smile and wishes everyone a great day as they leave. “I came here to confirm business hours so I could run errands and am sorry to see the reviews. I’m leaving this five star review here for all the folks who, like me, get mail sent and received on schedule, regularly. This isn’t a restaurant or a hotel or a gentrification haven - nor should it be reviewed as such. Everyone there seems to be working efficiently in a time where there are more packages than ever, but no budget expansion and few upgrades.
Also, I have never once been harassed there by folks standing around; loitering is a racist concept and the descriptions of harassment in some reviews illustrate why. Observing folks hang out might create certain feelings in your body, but folks don’t deserve to be removed from a sidewalk because you’re experiencing feelings.”
“Looks like all of the 1-star reviews are regarding passports. Weekday afternoon the Asian gentleman George was perfectly delightful and pleasant with handling my prepaid mail. So all is well with normal postal business. I suppose go elsewhere for passport making.”
“Honestly no idea why this place has such a low rating. Been living in Ossining for about seven years now and I wouldn’t trade this postal office for any other one. Always a positive attitude and will to help! Every time I go in there they are always smiling and ready to help. You know dmv offices and pretty much any gov office is filled with snotty not wanting to work people but these people are good hard working people that always do their job with a smile and what more can you ask for.
