“I made the mistake of leaving my camera bag on the roof of a car. The bag fall off the car moving 30 mph. My Z8 and Z 24-70 2.8 both suffered moderate fall damage. The Z8 had internal as well as external (visible scrapes) something was loose inside and the lens mount was damaged. The 24-70 appeared normal but the images it was producing were soft and misfocused.

I sent both items in for repair as an NPS member.

Both items eventually came back to me in condition as good as new. The lens is producing images of the quality I've come to expect from S line lenses. More amazingly my camera looks brand new, even old scuffs that were there before the fall are now gone. They did an incredible job on the repairs.

I give 4 stars because there were some unusual miscommunication issues. My lens was listed as waiting for billing for 2 weeks and when I would call I was told the lens was repaired and already shipped back to me later to find out it had not shipped because my credit card company would not approve the charge. Once payment was sorted they did ship it Next Day to make up for time lost in miscommunication.

The camera took about a month due to being on parts hold.

You have to be proactive and call for information but everyone I spoke to was courteous despite some confusion and conflicting information. Eventually things were shorted. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the repairs.”
