“The owners know all their products and are very experienced with importing merchandise that otherwise might be difficult to attain here in the States. From Transformers to Gundam, from Power Rangers to Ultraman, from One Piece to Jujutsu Kaisen, they’ve quite literally have it all. My brother and I will be frequenting this spot quite a lot in the near future and I hope anybody that is even remotely interested in shopping collectibles or hobby items that you will give this place a chance and fall in love with the atmosphere as did my brother and I!!”

“Kidztoys is a great local toy store filled with so many goodies for children of all ages and interests. The owner and the workers are so helpful and sweet. If you’re ever looking for a present for a child this is the place to go. “I hosted my daughter’s 3rd birthday party here and it could not be more perfect. The party was well organized, the venue was beautiful, and Ingrid was sooo helpful and delightful. She even took pictures and sent them to us. I am so happy that we decided to have the party here. The cost was also not bad at all compared to other places for kids parties. 5 stars all the way.”

“This shop is an easy five star based on their inventory, staff knowledge and overall great atmosphere to shop in. Willis Hobbies has been around MIneola since 1949. Not only have they been a fabric of the community but they always show their commitment to Mineola through their participation in Village events. If you can think of it.... You'll find it here. Plenty of electric cars, models (that go up to 2,000 pieces), lots of model trains and trains-accessories. The beauty of the shop is that the team here are experts. Depending what you're looking for will determine who you speak with. There is value shopping in a store that understands your needs and advices you accordingly. They always set up race cars at the MIneola Street to become more involved and engaged with the residents. In summation... there are good people here. KUDOs top the team at Willis Hobbies.”

“No weekend is complete without a run to 5 Below. It's always for something that's needed like a phone charger cord and then I wind up seeing so many other things that I feel like I must have. This location is usually pretty well stocked and the staff is friendly. Every once in a while they're short handed up front but they seem to make it work. On this trip I got pillows and a throw for my guest bedroom because they were super cute and affordable. I also bought another bookcase/organizer because I used one of theirs for my pop up shop set up and it works really great. Even though some things are more than $5 most of my items were actually $5. If you have a very small child, I'm warning you they have lots of cute toys and a lot of candy especially near the checkout so either prep them before you go in or don't bring them.”

“Trainland is a fantastic store with multiple layouts on display; huge selection of all scales. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and take their time to explain the products, along with helping customers troubleshoot. The online store (Trainworld) is my goto place for buying all things trains. They ship quickly, prices are competitive, and they stand behind the products they sell. Trainland continues to excel at providing that in person experience in the age where brick and mortar hobby stores continue to close. Highly recommend visiting and buying something there. They have everything from the Thomas trains for kids to the extremely high-end hobbyist quality products.”

Staff were all so friendly and kind. Great place to buy gifts for kids' birthday parties. I especially loved that they carry Usborne activity books!”

“This Barnes and Noble caught my eye as I was running some errands at the local Whole Foods Marketplace. I was pleasantly surprised considering I haven’t walked in a book store in about 8 years. As soon as I walked in, this place smelled like books. And it smelt amazing. It brought me back to my glory days, when I was a Harry Potter fanatic. I had a great time walking around and almost bought a book! I’ll be back for sure.”

“Stopped in here while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. This place is adorable and has lots of chic and one of a kind things! I bought a bunch of their Christmas items which were 50% off and some dainty gold rings. They have really cute stuff for women, candles, jewelry, baby items, accessories. Melanie was so sweet and helpful and even wrapped a gift for someone. Will definitely be back!”

“Excellent customer service! I ordered online for a store pick up and when I got there, I was helped or spoken to by three employees. One told me that someone will be with me shortly, one started the laminating machine for me, & the third one just simply told me no worries about something I mentioned. I usually have anxieties around back to school time and having to deal with lines can make me feel worse. This time, completely opposite of what I used to experience. I might go back soon just to use the laminating machine.”

“A wonderful place to discover. Alex truly has one heck of a collection. Museum style collectibles with so much rich history of all comics and pop culture media from vintage to modern and classics. Although I wouldn't recommend selling toys here Alex doesn't take loose toy items only mint in box. Toys have value in box then out of box. “Heard about this store from the LI Teachers group on FB. Greatest little find. Store has teacher supplies throughout but most of it is concentrated in the back. The woman at the register is extremely helpful. If you can’t find something, just ask her, she will let you know if they have any more in the back or if the are ordering more supplies. They also laminate anything you buy for free. Plus teachers get a 15% discount. Great store and customer service.”

I had alot of questions shopping for 2 adult costumes and he walked around the store with helped me with everything answering every question and very knowledgeable of all the items I needed. “Love the GameStop it reminds me of the all the times I've went to game places in the past and have some serious gaming talks with staff there! They know she game but aren't better at it then me I believe heck I been Top 10 to top 100 in online competitive games in the world ??! I think GameStop could be much more but I'll give it 5 stars. For being a soul survivor store even among (now defunct) Play N Trade And other game stores in NY!”
