I’ve visited Quest Diagnostics before with an appointment, and everything ran smoothly—no complaints there. However, if you go as a walk-in, be prepared to wait, which is understandable. I didn’t have an appointment, so I expected a delay.
What I didn’t expect was to still be waiting after the entire waiting room had cleared out and the monitor showed **0 patients being serviced** and **0 upcoming appointments** within the next hour. Despite that, I remained sitting there while two technicians were present.
One of the technicians, a female staff member, chose to finish her paperwork to end her shift rather than seeing the remaining walk-in patients. I know this because her male co-worker who was with a patient and then took me in - told me exactly that. At this point, I had already been waiting for over an hour—and again, I was fine with patients going in before me if they had appointments. But when no one is left and the place is empty, why keep me waiting?
I understand wanting to leave on time—but where’s the basic courtesy? If you're going to accept walk-ins, at least make some effort to accommodate them when the schedule allows. I wanted to leave too—but I didn’t have that option.
Bottom line: I’ve had good experiences at this Quest location **with an appointment**. But if you’re considering going as a walk-in, don’t bother. They make you wait indefinitely, even when you're next and there’s no one else left to be seen. Ridiculous. Make an appointment—or go elsewhere.

The phlebotomist, Gilberte, was wonderful. She is the perfect professional in every way. I have taken several blood tests with her and the experience is always the same, efficient, compassionate, and absolutely painless. She is an artist and a great asset to your company.

The technician who drew my blood was very nice and professional. HOWEVER, the automated computer terminal check-in was a nightmare. (Gave 3 stars only because of the initial difficulties with the check-in…the technician was great!) The check-in terminal kept freezing…it took me multiple attempts to log-in and out to get through my check-in. And, there was no receptionist working in the office to provide me with assistance when the terminal kept freezing.
Quest needs to have a receptionist OR make sure that the log-in process actually works.

I've always liked coming to Quest in Mineola. East to park. Technology at check-in worked perfectly. The phlebotomist did a great job on take-in and blood draw.

I needed to get some labs done for work. This was my first time using this location. Just wanted to say that the employee named Troy was very professional, very helpful and was able to get me in and out quick. My only recommendation is come early, and bring some quarters for parking. Thanks again guys!

This place is a joke they require you “make” an appt to drop off a specimen. Where they are not doing anything besides taking the bag from your hand and then on top of it they have an attitude as well. When you tell them you’re there solely to drop something off!!

My daughter had an appointment and she is only two years old. The lady named June R in Mineola, New York was very rude. Once she had called our name to the room. I had already felt like she just didnt want to be bothered, but either way, my daughter is only two and, she tied the rubber band really tight and of course, my daughter is only two years old. She had left the room. She came right back. She started adjusting the needles like she wasn’t ready, and my daughter was like already crying. I had mentioned to her that if she wasn’t ready if we can take the rubber band off because my daughter was uncomfortable, and she never answered me when she finally got ready she kept telling me how to hold her, which is not a problem, but then she kept telling me to tell my two year old to make a fist knowing that her arm was already red from the rubber band being so tight. She Literally kept telling me over and over again about four or five times to tell her to make a fist as if my little toddler was going to do that knowing that she was already Uncomfortable and in pain. she wasn’t kid friendly she was annoyed the whole time very rough very rude when we got out of there I had to even had to takeoff the tape that she tied around her arm really tight With the cotton ball and literally only left it like a small Band-Aid .we have went to quest before with my Little one in Freeport and they were just so good to her last year. This year, we just decided to try the Mineola Quest and it wasn’t a good idea

They need to hire better staff or hire more. They take forever to draw blood work and giving no update for waiting time.
