I needed work done pretty often on my 2000 Toyota, and they were always able to get me in quickly and for a very fair price (sometimes even more than fair for a consistent customer). They got me in the week of Thanksgiving to repair an exhaust leak (for free), even as I told them I would be selling the car and moving out of the area. An extremely trustworthy business.”
“Very detail oriented. They have a specialist go over your driving experience after you have had the car. They are friendly and the dealership is well organized. The sales staff interacts with the service department and they give you a tour. You walk in, sign a few things and hand you the key fob. Salesman George Wells was very prepared and professional.”

They saw that we were on a long road trip with two small kids, and staff showed the kids what they were doing -- and they did it lightning quick! “I took my truck to Nate with a misfire and antifreeze loss. He evaluated the problems and found blown intake gasket and failed coil pack. He even gave an honest assessment that the intake gasket was NOT worth repairing due to multiple other issues he found. He fixed the coil pack so I could nurse it along while searching for another vehicle. Love the honesty and highly recommend Nate's Tire and Auto for all your service needs.”

“Hit a deer and went to 3 auto bodies for quotes and Gerber Collision was the best and easiest to work with. Had the most amazing experience right from the beginning with estimate, which was fair and itemized that I could understand + service rates posted. They ordered parts and it was a quick turn around and fast repair. Their team went above and beyond, including friendly person and at front desk and the cutest shop dog Doughnut. The communication was clear and timely, includes print out of estimate and repair receipts. The repair looks great + they made the car look even better then I brought it in with vacuum and light cleaning, even shined up the other headlight (that the deer hadn’t smashed). Highly recommend, the best for collisions and glass in the area.”

“I recently had car trouble while visiting Oneonta and looked up a mechanic to bring the car to for a quick check. I chose Thetford's because of the positive reviews and because they were "open" 24 hours/day. When I called, they were courteous and available so I took my care there. They fixed a minor problem and discovered a much bigger problem that made my car unsafe to drive. Ryan and Brian really took care of me, explained and showed me the issue and made suggestions of what to do to get the car home. The next day I realized it was too risky to make the 3.5 hour drive home so I called and decided to have them flatbed the car all the way home. My daughter and I drove in the cab with Ryan who was not only a true professional but also a pleasant riding companion! I cannot say enough good things about this business and Ryan and Brian who helped me get home safely. Any parents of Oneonta students experiencing car trouble and looking for a local mechanic, look no further!”
“Had a motor issue I caused by trying to do it myself. Not only did Mike drive to me to see if he could fix it in my driveway but when it was evident that wasn’t going to work he got it right in once it got towed there. Throughout the process which we decided to refresh the motor by replacing old parts he kept me informed of any issue or any work being done. I’m shade tree at best but he treated me with a huge amount of respect by letting me know each step. He got my old 7.3 back driving again, I own a few diesel trucks and if they need work I always call him.”

“Perfection in a mechanic. I never thought I would be able to say that, but I’ve never had such a smooth pleasant experience with a mechanic. We had a little accident in a recent ice storm with an older car (2006 Volvo). I was sure she was a goner, but McCarthy tire had us back out on the road quickly and without any headaches. The alignment is perfect and they threw in our new headlamps without even charging. Being an older vehicle, there were a few unexpected repairs that had to be done to properly get our wheels back to a perfect alignment. As these issues were discovered along the way, they were quickly and clearly communicated to me and everything was explained so that I completely understood why we needed to complete them. Mariano and Pat or Pete. (Sorry, I can’t remember) are absolute gems. I appreciate you guys. Thank you so much”

(I've known Dave for decades, and his work is always top notch).All kidding aside, this is the service center to bring your vehicle to. They are very fair, very friendly, and very knowledgeable (not necessarily in any particular order).If you want a personal experience with excellent results, you don't need to look any further.I would be equally comfortable bringing my 20 year old beater or my brand new daily driver here - I know that the service, recommendations, and attention to detail will be the same for either vehicle (tempered to that vehicle, of course - you're not going to hear about how a new suspension would greatly benefit your car that has one tire in the grave here).”

He was patient with me kind to me and listened to all of my pros and cons about trading in my Chevy which I'm glad I did. He answered all my questions and was honest and caring.
