Amazing customer interaction, my wife and I stopped in for some forgotten items left in New Mexico. Had a great conversation about b&w photography and helpful information that I would need regarding my photography needs.Great prices, along with amazing customer service gives this shop a 10/10 in my book!

Sal is great, bought a Mamiya 645 used and had one issue with the curtain (all old cameras have some issues), and he fixed it quickly at no charge. They stand behind the products they sell and are relatively reasonable on their prices (given they are a reseller).I would recommend anyone looking for a film camera to check them out, especially over some of the other NYC retailers like B&H and K&M who would charge double the price with far worst customer service.

Great service and shipped as promised. I was also contacted quickly as I had made an error on my order and they wanted to be absolutely sure what I needed. Order was corrected for me and correct lens shipped at an awesome price. Highly recommend.

42nd street photo has amazing customer service. I've dropped off and bought here a few times and have always had a great experience. They develop all types of film (c41, bw, and ecn2). Shoutout to them!I'll definitely be back.

Nice enough but truly absurd pricing/price gouging. Charging double the cost of 35mm film compared to B&H

!!! Don't ever make the mistake of buying through 42nd Street Photo! They sound all enticing but sell gray market cameras that will are not serviced in the US!! Such deceit!! and then they don't answer my calls for a week straight! What nerve. Utterly disgusting and dishonest! Spare yourself aggravation AND money by supporting Canon direct

After spending hundreds of dollars on camera repairs here, I went in to ask if they would repair an element of my camera when it had broken again just two months after being fixed here. The employee was dismissive and condescending, refusing to even look at my camera. This is not a place to come if you’re looking for decent customer service and respectful treatment.

I BOUGHT HERE and my suggestion is PLEASE DO NOT BUY IN THIS CAVE OF THIEVES! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! This SMALL STORE only have FRAUDULENT GRAY MARKET, INTERNATIONAL AND EXPENSIVE OBSOLETE CAMERAS AND LENSES FROM DUBIOUS MARKET.I called directly to CANON and they told me that this Store IS NOT A CANON RESELLER, so you will not NEVER have warranty. The 42nd ST PHOTO only have a DEMO cameras & lenses, so these items usually are defective and damaged THEY ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY MANUFACTURER or CAMERA BRANDS (CANON, NIKON or SONY).The 42nd ST PHOTO website page is a piece of trash, OBSOLETE, OLD and MEDIOCRE AS THE STORE AND THEIR ITEMS.The customer service is AWFUL, TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING, the EMPLOYEES are COCKY and they are a piece of human beings trash ( in special RAPHAEL a Colombian seller, he's the worst) Also this guy, RAPHAEL is FRAUDULENT and a SCAM. He asked me about my SS and my account personal password from 42nd ST PHOTO. I didn't want to give this info to him, so He treat me very NASTY, UNPROFFESIONAL and RUDE. Then he insult me and hanged the phone (RAPHAEL). KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

This place is sketchy and the staff is combative. They made a “follow up” call after we placed an order and told us our camera would not work in the US and to buy the more expensive domestic camera that was “on sale.” Unfortunately, we didn’t know any better, so we said okay. Then we looked up the company and they have a reputation for aggressive sales and other shady business practices such as using gray market suppliers. When we called back to cancel the order, the representative was rude and unhelpful, arguing over the price and saying that a shipping label was already printed and there was no way for him to cancel without a manager. When we asked for the manager, he said his manager wasn’t available due to being busy for Black Friday. I can understand that, having worked in customer service all my life, but having no processes in place for order cancellations does not foster trust between a business and a customer. The rep said all we can do is just send it back when we receive it, but there would be a 20% restocking fee. So for your own sake, do not buy from 42nd Street Photo.TL;DR: bought a camera online from42nd Street Photo, they upsold us for a domestic one, when we tried to cancel, they were rude, unhelpful, and downright shady. Don’t buy anything from them.

FRAUDULENT practices - DO NOT ORDER from 42 Photo, they are completely terrible to deal with. I bought a camera remote which was list as NEW on their website - I also paid $30 for priority shipping, and received it 2 weeks later (!), which was too late as we needed it asap for a shoot. They sent a USED part, which was not in any packaging except for the white envelope they shipped it in (see pic). It's clearly used - I let Ralph in shipping know - he said he had to get approval for the return and promised to call back. When he didn't call, I called him and he transferred me to customer service. I left multiple messages for "Carla" in customer service, but never received a call back. Now when I call they don't answer their phone. I'm so confused as to why they think this is ok? I just want to return the USED part and get my money back. I ordered the same exact part at the same price from B&H, and it arrived within 2 days.

The customer service at this store is absolutely horrible. I bought a lens that was quite expensive. I used the lens once and did not like the weight or the way the photos turned out in low light. Not wanting to spend $1500 on something I didn’t like I have been trying to return it now for 10 days. Nobody will get back to me to complete the return after countless emails and phone calls. They want to charge a 20% restocking fee which is absolutely ridiculous. I would never buy another thing from them again and nor should you.

Came in here yesterday and didn’t get his name but he helped me figure out how to use a Canon Av-1 Film Camera and gave me tips as I never used a Film camera before. He made me feel a lot more confident in using the camera. He was super nice and found a cap for it within seconds when I was scrolling on Amazon and Ebay prior to coming for hours looking for the correct cap. Super nice and made me feel comfortable to ask questions. I will definitely keep coming back!!
