I have been with this bank for more than 25 years and just recently I found some problems everything started after the updating I never know exactly my balance and I need to deposit by the cashier otherwise it takes 2 days to appear in your balance and recently I had problems with my back account that needed to be changed they were very helpful but I don’t what happened later when my social security deposit was made it when to my old account why I don’t know the thing is is going to take few days to transfer the money when I needed more. I don complain of the service because they are nice and trying to help but sometimes that’s no enough there are things that shouldn’t happen that’s it

I've dealt with many banks and worked in a major bank for over 12 years. My grandmother used to take me here as a kid when it was Harlem Savings and it wasn't until many years later when it was Apple Bank that I came here on my own, as a much older adult. I'm very glad I did. I've not dealt with the teller line here yet but the customer service team is superb and they take very good care of you here. They are kind and respectful and provide great service. You never feel like just a number here. Yes, you will have to wait a bit to see someone but it will be well worth it.

I like that it is tied to an honest Savings Credit Union, and does not engage in risky derivatives trading (costing the general public via financial bailouts paid for by our taxes and real inflation when their bets go wrong), but mostly solid local investments so it is not likely to be in trouble anytime.Customer service is excellent so far, although I sometimes have to wait. Fees are reasonably low*, much lower than HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Citibank etc. and they provide online access & payments. On the minus side, they are not set up for sending and receiving funds from non US countries. For this I use a small bank in Chinatown that also is very safe and inexpensive (but doesn't have online facilities, which can be considered an advantage, actually, in case of internet crashes etc). For larger transactions and financial services, it's an other matter. The branch at West 73rd St and Broadway is very neat, set in an historical building, with a basement with a working safe, which you can visit. This location has been probably been used for many movies. A bit like NYC 's Grand Central or Philadelphia's train station(*) HSBC used to be free for me, grandfathered as an early customer; then no more. In the grand scheme of things a few dollars per month isn't much, but when you consider that you are giving them your cash, which they should be paying you for the privilege, and instead charge you anywhere from 10 to 15% interest when all is said and done, i wonder why anyone is still using them. TD Bank -commercial accounts- also became expensive, from free as grandfathered from Commerce Bank to about $200/ year equivalent for the privilege of holding my moneyWill be updating this review as time goes by and I can assess the quality of its services.Reposted from my review of West 73 and Broadway, also West 42nd and West 155. They all have the same honest feel; I can put up with not spiffy shiny counters and decor that I know comes from either my fees or some dishonest doings (Google HSBC's multiple settlement agreements re violations of all kinds).

Just terrible, I would give them 0 stars if possible. It took me over 2 hours just to open an account, and when I checked out the online features they had it was like something from the 1990s.

Very slow service. Not an efficiently operating bank especially when we need to speak with personal bankers.

Very big space but very little amount of workers. I understand apple bank isn't as big but considering how many older people use this bank, you'd think they'd have more people working here. Weekday on a morning, too busy to want to stay around, only 3 tellers and they seem to not insist on moving faster. I wish they would hire more employees to help out the older folks.

I think there are way better banks out there than this one. Everything here is outdated and the customer service sucks - the staff is not helpful at all and the service is super slow. I do not bank here but my dad has a safe deposit box and every time we have to go withdraw or deposit, the process is tiring. They also have limited hours and close early on Saturdays. Only benefit is that the box is pretty cheap - $100 for 12 months.

Very polite service, nice oldschool vibe in the structure layout, high ceilings and 80's music usually on, really nice atmosphere. Friendly, but also a little crowded on the expected days .. Saturday, Friday, the first and third day of the month. It feels like this could have been a location for a 70's-80's movie . Makes me smile
