Firstly, I try to rate places on what they are against what they are trying to be.We stopped in for a quick drink (8th floor Macy's) and it was really good.It was fairly quiet (Sunday 10:30am) and the service was quick and courteous.There was a buzz from the families queuing for Santaland (December 17th) and the iced coffees were really good.

So of course they don’t make Gill-Latés, so I had the caramel macchiato instead. Macy’s Herald Square is where the heart and soul of NYC is located. Even if the food is bad at this location like the other reviewers say, Macy’s will make everything go away!

Trisha saved the day, but in general, their customer service from this location, corporate, and the catering branch is non existent. Even though you can get food delivered at 8am, if they order goes wrong, no one answers the phone til after 10am so my order/s were in limbo. No one ever got back to me. I had to call, literally, for HOURS. Trisha was a big help, but no one else from customer service, the catering dept, etc addressed my concerns. I got hung up on, got the run around, and had to cancel some of my orders.

Utterly disgusting coffee shop in what is supposed to be a prestige department store.The staff are rude and lazy. Service without a smile!!. Coffee ok but food inedible.As for cleanliness there is none. The bins are overflowing all over the floor with coffee and food waste all around. Nothing is cleaned after each customer.Ok they may be short staffed but this place is a health hazard. In the UK this would be closed down.Shame on the management of this establishment for allowing it to get to this state.Avoid at all cost.

Probably the worst au bon pain I've been to. The floors were dirty, the trash was overflowing, and the cashier was trying to start arguments over anything the customers asked. It's a shame that such a beautiful store has such a poor restaurant.

Worst cafe ever been to....not just the food but specially the service and management. I asked for just tap water after buying coffee and the manager asked the cashier to charge me for it....yes they wanted to charge for tap water to a paying customer! The manager was extremely rude saying its for the plastic glass....seriously???!!!!After looking at other reviews here, wondering why does Macys allow them to stay there as it affects their own customers.

Disgusting food. Protein wrap was Disgusting. Coffee had to be thrown out, cappuccino.Dont recommend at all unless you want to be disappointed

Manager who runs the place was at the cashier. Ask for a petite bread to go along with the salad, which they were the ones that told me at some point that it was included, she refused to give me the petite bread. Very nasty. She needs customer service training. If you're dealing with the public you need to be a little more tolerant and polite.

I would give zero if it was possible. And it’s so sad that my experience is not food related. Cashier and manager are not friendly at all, I would actually say RUDE. Not accommodating at all. the floor was disgusting. all the tables were dirty. I would not come back ever to this location.
