I've been renting cars from AVIS for over 25 years - for both business and leisure/personal, and they never (very rarely) disappoint. Definitely recommend.

Worst car rental company ever. Nobody knows what they’re doing at any level of the company it would seem. Took 2+ hours & 5 calls to resolve the issues that they created on my 24 hour rental. Never again. Use anyone else.

I generally have good experiences at this location, but what car you get is the luck of the draw. Sometimes I'll get a low- mileage car that's a significant upgrade, and sometimes (like today) I'll get a 4-year-old car with over 50K miles and lots of damage. It still drove alright (with the exception of wipers that did not work well), but it would be great if they were more consistent in vehicle quality/age. Overall would recommend if you get a good rate (e.g. through your company) but otherwise I would be open to other options.

Horrible customer service. Came in and stood at the desk for 5 mins as the worker did her thing and didn't say a single word to us. Not even a simple, I'll be right with you or a greeting. Hilarious how rude she was.

I ordered an SUV and they want to give me a minivan. I told them I won’t take a minivan I want the car I ordered. Now I’m sitting here for 50 minutes while they give other people SUVs.

My rental from Avis went very smooth and beyond my expectations. They upgraded me to a Kia K-5 that was much appreciated for my 10-day trip. I will definitely choose Avis next time I rent.

I picked up my recent rental at night and didn’t realize until after I got to my destination that the inside of the car was never cleaned. There was trash and TWO DIRTY SOCKS hanging from the door handles in the back.When I rated my ride and explained the situation, AVIS emailed saying they hoped it didn’t impact my decision to use them again… but did nothing to make the situation right. $500 dollars for a filthy car rental for 2 days… beyond disappointed as I frequent this location and have had great service in the past.

SHAME ON THIS AVIS. We all obviously know Avis is terrible, but this is by far the worst business I’ve ever dealt with!!! We reserved a car for 7 pm pick up on a Friday night, only to arrive and be told by security that the attendant left for a break and would be gone for at least 30 minutes AND THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE WORKING THERE. Over 30 minutes now and currently still just waiting in the room with no one there, this is completely unacceptable and I am mind blown at the utter disrespect for customers. HORRIBLE. During core business hours on a Friday night in NYC when weekend rates are insanely priced to begin with. We are filing a complaint to the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs!!!

Pretty unbelievably bad. We returned our car, it was inspected and we were told we were good to go. Three days later I get a note that my car hadn’t been returned yet and I was being charged extra days. I called and found out they made a mistake and didn’t file the return, and gave me a refund. Fast forward to 1 month later, I’m charged a $125 cleaning fee and had to call customer service to find out why (since I didn’t get any prior notice). The associate himself was shocked by the pictures that did not justify that charge. Also how did those concerns come up 1 month later from the return? Again I was given a refund. So if you do not want to spend time dealing with blatant incompetency at best or scammy behavior at worse, I suggest looking for another place to rent your car.

Horrible. Avoid.1) They didn't have the car I reserved 4 months ago. Was offered a van, truck, or EV instead. Assured me EV was "the same."2) Could NOT charge the car -- attendant's instructions were wrong.3) Neither Avis Roadside service nor my local agency answered any of the 12 phone calls I made. There is NO ROADSIDE SERVICE. Stranded 200 miles from home. Dangerous, terrifying, infuriating.4) Good samaritans helped. Spent 6 hours trying to charge that thing.5) Fought with manager for full refund. He said yes, but the charge is still on my credit card.Buyer beware: renting from Avis/Budget is UNSAFE. They will not attend to you if you're in an emergency. They do not answer their advertised roadside assistance line.
