DRIVERS BEWARE: I had a reservation here and they gave my car away. I also rented from here numerous times and the last time my car smelled like cigarette smoke. When I tried to tell the manager he told me not to leave a review. Flash forward to today when I’m on a time dependent gig for work and the car is not here. Would definitely avoid this place if you can help it. Frankly, you get what you pay for. Avis may be cheap but they have no interest in making sure their clients are happy.

Worst rental car experience of my life! Horrible customer service! Please avoid this place. If I could give zero stars I would. I prepaid for a sedan car rental and when I arrived for the pick up was told there weren’t any more cars only a minivan. I asked about other locations in the area and they said they didn’t know and couldn’t check, so I had to call around myself. After spending 20min on hold and calling customer service they said there’s no other cars available. So I said I’d take the minivan and try to exchange it later for a smaller car. Then she said I needed to pay a $250 deposit, when she ran my debit card she said there was a credit freeze and I needed to call my bank. So I called and spent another 20min on hold only to be told there is no credit freeze and there’s nothing wrong with the card. Then she’s tells me it’s because I’m using a different card than the original payment. Well I don’t physically have that card with me and she refuses to enter the info manually. So after 2 hours! Yes 2 hours dealing with this I still have no rental car and I’m in tears. I finally gave up, cancelled the reservation and spent $250 on a Lyft to get where I needed to be. Thanks Avis in mid town for ruining my day. You’re the worst.

Didn’t have car reserved. Tried to charge more for replacement car & for returning car and hour after return time despite giving us car almost 2 hours after schedule time. Will never use Avis again.

I have often experienced unprovoked rude and slow customer service at this location. It takes them a long time to bring the car: sometimes I have had to wait a half hour or longer even when there was no one ahead of me. The attendants who are supposed to bring the car have been rude to and yelled at customers for no reason, simply for politely inquiring about ETA.

Extremely helpful and service with a smile. I had to walk from the 54th street location which was a nightmare. The staff at this location made sure I got the car I reserved, made sure I knew where I was going and treated me with respect, like any other location should! Thanks for a great pickup!!

I have to wait for almost two hours and I had to receive a totally scratched car without a spare tire because they would close the store at 3 and if I didn't accept that car I have to cancel my reservation.

Booked car rental in NYC via the App ("AVIS Preferred customer").Tried to change the pick-up location to one closer to the hotel via telephone."Not possible".Went into branch 42nd street - curt unhelpful staff: "Not possible". Simply could not be bothered.One email to centre and it was done.Very disappointing to find staff utterly unhelpful.

They have given us the dirty car on the outside and especially inside. We found chips and an empty beer can under the seat. the walls inside dirty, traces of glitter on the carpets and the steering wheel. In addition, the person who delivered the car to us had an unprofessional attitude. I don't understand why people in these jobs don't value the opportunity to belong to a great company. I am not at all happy with this service, and it is not the first time that I have received a dirty car from Avis. In other countries this does not happen with Avis, I don't understand why if it happens in the USA.

This happened in Dec 27, 2022I’m coming back to leave this review because Avis put me in a same situation again at DAL airport.I reserved a one way from this location last year. We had set the pickup time at 2.45pm. We reached the location to pickup our rental at 3PM and the location was closed, no one to pick up the call. We were never told about the store hours and that store hours would prevent us from picking up our rental car.We called avis customer care, they asked us to cancel the reservation or wait until next morning. Avis has the worst customer care i have ever dealt with..I’m a president circle member and I’m not doing any business with Avis again. So frustrating.

I rented an SUV vechile from Baltimore airport for one day , but Said who is the customer representive advised that since i will pass 24 hrs to return the veschile, this will be charged as 2 days which is accepted. I asked him to upgrade the vechile and he advised only GMC is available but the pice was too high so I agreed with Mitsubishi Outlander . He advised to add an issurance of $70 and I accepted, however I mentioned that I also have an inssrance, also he advised to add $25 for toll free and I agreed. The total charges was around all in $USD 317 including unlimited mileage, but he charged my visa $530 for $200 USD refundable which he confirmed as well. I asked him for a copy of the invoice, he confirmed,I will receive by email. I picked up the car and started the journey but didn't receive the invoice so I called Avis and they confirmed there is no email details in my booking so I added and they confirmed I will only receive the invoice @ the time I return the vechile. When I returned the vechile, they charged me for $USD 574 for 2 days and when contacting customer service, they explained that that their Rep Said charged me almost double and for extra service charges which I didnt even ask for . It seems they are working on my case but hopfully they can help. Take care from Avis and make sure you have a copy of the paperwork before you leave the desk.
