They never have any appointments. You pay for insurance and if your pet has an emergency you can't even bring them. They not even open Friday-Sunday, as if people don't have jobs to go to. God forbid you try to call with a question they don't pick up the phones. Even if you leave a voicemail they will not call you back, even if you state it's for a problem your pet has. Don't waste your money getting insurance here.

This place is a scam. They will take your money and never be able to schedule an appointment.

Hard to get in touch with many times. Always have customers waiting outside the door (maybe they need to up the volume on their door bell and read reviews).Staff are nice and friendly but after a while, it just doesn’t seem attentive to customers needs and they seem really nonchalant with their process. A lot of people come here for convenience

Probably the worst place to take your dog to. I would HIGHLY recommend pet insurance. This place will never pick the phone and are constantly booked to the point that you're literally GIVING them money every month for no good reason. Also cancelling their membership is not only hassle but you'll end up being liable for services that were never rendered.

Saturday. 8/12 , closed 10 minutes before the advertised time. Things are really going downhill here. Better look somewhere else.

I don't understand how they conduct business when they do not answer the phone, ever. I guess they don't need new clients. SMH ??????

I wouldn’t take my pet rock there. Staff and vet repeatedly tried to push a $1300 “gold standard” treatment plan even after admitting they didn’t even look at my pet yet. Just Listen to the automated intro message and you will easily see that the “gold standard” doesn’t involve actually ever seeing or speaking to a qualified vet. At least webMD is free.

I've been a client for over 10 years. in recent years the service has fallen. It's impossible to make basic appointments. I regualrly have to take days off from work and visit locations out on Long Island. I've spent almost an hour and a half on hold to make an appoointment. Got hung up on and still don't have an appointment.

I would NOT recommend them to anybody anymore. They have cancelled on me on many occasions because they are under staffed. The vet tech and vet are very unprofessional. They never pick up the main line nor return calls in a timely matter. I will be going to Heart of Harlem Veterinary and so will my pedigree Yorkies. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here; someone will appreciate my money. DO NOT RECOMMEND

The service and quality in this vet has drastically declined. I have been taking my pets here for years but I am now switching clinics. My elderly dog came in for an appointment. He was perfectly fine and had no problems (it was a regular check up). After picking him up we noticed that his eyes were full of slimy eye boogers. We cleaned his face and moved past this. His eyes continued to have this slimy consistency and we realized he had an eye infection. The only place he had been to was this vet clinic, and he did NOT have an infection beforehand. Along with this, we took my kitten to this clinic for her first time. She has never been outside yet and was never around any other cats. A few days after her appointment, we realized she kept scratching her ears. Turns out, she has ear mites (again, she had not been around any cats at home and only went to the vet). Clearly there is a severe lack of cleanliness in this clinic, both of my pets have come back worse than when they entered. Do not come here!

I love going here and I pay for the wellness plan, but to call to get an appointment no one answers, so what’s the point. It’s frustrating you can’t drop in and you can get no on on the phone. So I’m paying for their services that I cannot use.

They never open on Time. It's 9:45 and they are not ope. Or answering the phone. They say it open on line, it's not. Thinking about canceling Banfield this place didn't have what my dog need because it was not working They sent me to 64 and 2nd Ave. Because they can tell you what is wrong for $$$$$. So why do I need to pay you guys $100 a month.

NEVER take your pet to this vet!!!!!!! :( This place does not even deserve 1 star. I wish I could give it zero or negative!!!! I foolishly ignored all the bad reviews warning to avoid this establishment at all costs. Take this as another warning--this Banfield has over 30 one-star reviews for a reason!!! I've always loved and trusted my home Banfield location, so I assumed this Manhattan Banfield location would be just as great. However, I was very wrong. Note--This business never answers the phone EVER and their mailbox is full. You will never get in contact with them, trust me!!My horrible experience: To begin with, I scheduled a checkup appointment a month in advance and called several times the week before to confirm. However, when I showed up on the correct date/time, they didn't have me in the schedule that day and made me and my cat sit there for over 3 hours waiting to be seen. Then, the vet falsely diagnosed my pet with multiple illnesses, and made me spend tons of money on medication/products to treat the issues. My cat is perfectly fine and healthy so I took her to a different vet for a second opinion, she said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my cat! Looking at my account/record, there is NO proof/evidence that any tests were done to properly diagnose any issues. Therefore, it is clear the Banfield vet lied and scammed me into spending a ton of money on "curing" made up problems. It is ILLEGAL to prescribe medication without proper testing done to diagnose. And to add, the medications they prescribed almost killed my cat!!!! (They made me buy a leave-in conditioner for my cat's fur to cure alopecia, which of course my cat licked off because she's a cat, and she get immediately poisioned!!! I thought she was going to die right in front of me.)Lastly, this place took my cat's collar off for the follow-up appointment (this is not necessary and has never been done before by any other vet), and they returned my cat without her collar on! I've tried contacting them multiple times over many months to get the collar back (it has a custom engraved ID tag with name and phone number on it). NO RESPONSE. This Banfield is THE WORST. If you care about the health and safety of your pet, do NOT take them here. You cannot trust them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
