Used to love this place… seating arrangements are horrible, Jackie who works there is the worst, and all that only for $20pp + mandatory order of 2 items pp? No thanks…Got up and left. Such a shame, I was really looking forward for that night out :/

The staff at Cafe Wha was very rude to us when we asked for better seats. We ended up leaving to The Groove where they treat you with respect.

If you like live music you won’t want to miss the house band! They are so talented - I went to the earlier show on a Friday night and had such fun. Service is great and drinks well priced. Make sure you reserve a space in advance to get in. Only negative was they only have 2 cubicles in the women’s toilets - you can imagine how much the queue builds up! And during the two hour slot you can lose a lot of time in that queue so make sure to go before everyone starts dancing as it’s hard to get down there!

If you want to have the best night in NYC Cafe Wha is a must. We have been going there for years and whenever we have guests come in from out of town we always bring them to Cafe Wha. The entertainment is beyond amazing!!!! The staff and servers are all so nice. They have great finger foods and the drinks were great. I suggest to make reservations as they seem to sell out every night. The band is so great that you don't want the night to end!!!!

Unfortunately, the Manager who was in attendance on January 27th of this year treated us very badly, I had made the reservation and I went in with a friend and as there was no reception downstairs I had to go up to call two more friends who were arriving, when you left They mark your wrist as identification, when I returned with them he didn't let us in and started screaming out of nowhere, we didn't want to stay there anymore and I needed to call my friend who was inside and there was no signal, but they didn't want to let him in to warn him, after much effort we said we would call the police, he said, he is a Brazilian who was alone at the table, I will call him, my friend was having a glass of beer, they asked him to leave , they threw the beer on the floor and even made him pay the bill, unfortunately regrettable

The place is good but the waitresses went crazy when we told them that we would not tip them again because we had already given them 10 minutes before for another drink. If you want to earn more money, talk to your boss.

I use to love this place and it was warm and welcoming. Unfortunately the bouncer/attendant outside the front door ruined our whole view of this place. We arrived 30 minutes early for the 11:30 pm show. We had reservations and we waited in a line with a large group continuing to cut ahead of us. They were let in. We told the bouncer our name and he told us that we had to circle around for a long line. He was rude the entire time. We loved what this place was about the past years but his attitude ruined it for us. Treated us like we were dirt. In my line of work I deal with difficult people and his behavior was unwarranted. The front presents an example that is inconsistent with what this place use to be. Despite our reservations, this experience coupled with the reality we would have to wait a significant time past the scheduled time, we decided to leave. I hope in the future you find a way to avoid this negative representation of your venue.

Tickets were bought in advance as a part of Christmas gift…30 per person for a 2 hour show (7-9, doors at 6pm). Cool! 2 item per person minimum on TOP of that? Less cool, but sure. We were seated (party of three) with another random party of three who we didn’t know. Then the kicker- the band only played for an HOUR. 90 dollars for the three of us… plus the food. And they MADE us leave after the hour so they could start another show. The strangers at our table had just ordered food and were basically told they had to pay for the next show, too, or take their food and leave. Insane, rude, horrible service. Practically a scam, and terrifically disappointing for us / embarrassing experience for the person giving what ended up being a stressful gift. Never again.

To say the least I heard about this spot and decided to try it. The food is overpriced and overrated. The wait staff is pleasant, the place is small and cramped. You're literally sitting so close to others it's uncomfortable. The bathroom is so small you barely have room to turn around. You're charge a $20 cover charge and once seated you're told they need to hold your credit card (do not trust this process) or you can pay as you go. 2 drinks, salad and pasta and cover charge $137. The night I went there was a band playing which I would give a C, the food C-. Definitely a do not recommend from me

OMG, best night club entertainment ever. People are friendly, band audio was great and songs were entertaining. From 90s classics (Creep, Oasis songs, etc) to a soulful woman doing Rhianna and Adele etc I thought I would be there 30 minutes and left 2 hours later with no voice. Totally worth it! Drinks I had were a White Russian and Whiskey Sour - both good.

I lived in NY for almost my entire life and Cafe Wha? is one of the few places there that I’ll visit over and over. The amazing house band never disappoints. The atmosphere is relaxed, lively and fun. It’s a guaranteed great time!
